BACKGROUND Pulmonary fibrosis(PF)is a chronic interstitial lung disease characterized by fibroblast proliferation and extracellular matrix formation,causing structural damage and lung *** cell therapy and mesenchymal stem cells-extracellular vesicles(MSC-EVs)offer new hope for PF *** To investigate the therapeutic potential of MSC-EVs in alleviating fibrosis,oxidative stress,and immune inflammation in A549 cells and bleomycin(BLM)-induced mouse *** The effect of MSC-EVs on A549 cells was assessed by fibrosis markers[collagen I andα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA),oxidative stress regulators[nuclear factor E2-related factor 2(Nrf2)and heme oxygenase-1(HO-1),and inflammatory regu-lators[nuclear factor-kappaB(NF-κB)p65,interleukin(IL)-1β,and IL-2].Similarly,they were assessed in the lungs of mice where PF was induced by BLM after MSC-EV ***-EVs ion PF mice were detected by pathological staining and western ***-cell RNA sequencing was performed to investigate the effects of the MSC-EVs on gene expression profiles of macrophages after modeling in *** Transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1 enhanced fibrosis in A549 cells,significantly increasing collagen I andα-SMA ***,treatment with MSC-EVs demonstrated a remarkable alleviation of these ***,the expression of oxidative stress regulators,such as Nrf2 and HO-1,along with inflammatory regulators,including NF-κB p65 and IL-1β,were mitigated by MSC-EV ***,in a parallel manner,MSC-EVs exhibited a downregulatory impact on collagen deposition,oxidative stress injuries,and inflammatory-related cytokines in the lungs of mice with ***,the mRNA sequencing results suggested that BLM may induce PF in mice by upregulating pulmonary collagen fiber deposition and triggering an immune inflammatory *** findings collectively highlight the potential therapeutic efficacy of MSC-EVs in ameliorating fibrotic processes,oxidative stres

Bischler-Napieralski cyclization has been successfully employed to prepare planar S,N-heteroacenes（SNHs） with the analogue structures to 1,10-phenanthroline. The opto-/electrical properties and the packing modes of these S,Nheteroacenes were examined, which were dependent on the structure of the fused groups. SNH-based copolymers with high molecular weight and good solubility in common organic solvents or water have been synthesized by Suzuki-MiyauraSchlüter polycondensation. The photophysical property studies revealed that the copolymers may be a promising chemosensor material.

Study of glue extrusion after endoscopic N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate injection on gastric variceal bleeding

AIM:To investigate glue extrusion after endoscopic N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate injection on gastric variceal bleeding and to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of this ***:A total of 148 cirrhotic patients in our hospital with esophagogastric variceal bleeding(EGVB) were included in this study.N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate was mixed with lipiodol in a 1:1 ratio and injected as a bolus of 1-3 mL according to variceal *** underwent endoscopic follow-up the next week,fourth week,second month,fourth month,and seventh month after injection and then every 6 mo to determine the cast *** abdominal X-ray fi lm and ultrasound or computed tomographic scan were also carried out in order to evaluate the time of variceal disappearance and complete extrusion of the *** average follow-up time was 13.1 ***:The instantaneous hemostatic rate was 96.2%.Early re-bleeding after injection in 9 cases(6.2%) was estimated from rejection of *** re-bleeding occurred in 12 patients(8.1%) at 2-18 *** glue cast was extruded into the lumen within one month in 86.1% of patients and eliminated within one *** erosion was seen at the injection position and mucosa edema in the second *** glue casts were extruded in 18 patients(12.1%) after one week and in 64 patients(42.8%) after two *** kinds of glue clumping shapes and colors on endoscopic examination were observed in 127 patients(86.1%) within one month,including punctiform,globular,pillar and *** one patients(27.9%) had glue extrusion after 3 mo and 28 patients(28.9%) after six *** extrusion time was not related to the injection volume of *** was seen in 70.2%(104 cases) *** main complication was re-bleeding resulting from *** prognosis of the patients depended on the severity of the underlying liver ***:Endoscopic injection of cyanoacrylate is highly effective for gastric varices *** glue clump

N^2-(1-Methoxycarbonylethyl)guanosine,a new nucleoside coupled with an amino acid derivative from Amanita exitialis

A new purine nucleoside coupled with an amino acid derivative, N^2-（l-methoxycarbonylethyl）guanosine 1, along with β- carboline and russulaceramide was isolated from the fruiting bodies of Amanita exitialis, a newly described poisonous mushroom. Its structure was elucidated by spectroscopic methods. This is the first report of naturally occurring nucleosides in which an a-amino acid derivative is bonded through its a-amino nitrogen to a nucleobase aglycone by a C-N bond. The new compound was found to be toxic in brine shrimp lethality test （BST）. C 2009 Published by Elsevier B.V. on behalf of Chinese Chemical Society.

Poly(3-hexylthio) thiophene Field-effect Transistor Device Performance: Impact of the Content of Hexylthio Side Chain on Backbone

Regioregular poly(3-hexylthio)thiopene(P3HTT) has emerged tremendous potential in organic electronic applications due to the strong noncovalent interactions from the sulfur atom linked to thiophene. However, P3HTT generally exhibits low charge mobility mostly due to poor solution processability attributed to dense arrangement of hexylthio side chain in polymer, which led to strong noncovalent interactions among sulfur atoms. To balance the nonvalent interaction and aggregation for P3HTT, herein, we systematically study the effect of hexylthio side chain content in polymer backbone on the structure and properties. A series of regioregular P3HTT-based homopolymers(P3HTT, P3HTT-50,P3HTT-33 and P3HTT-25) were prepared via Kumada catalyst transfer polycondensation method from a set of mono-, bi-, ter-and quarterthiophenes containing different contents of hexylthio side chain. The DFT calculation shows the planarity of polymers backbone could be improved through reducing the density of hexylthio side chain in polymer mainchain. And significant changes in their crystallinity, aggregation and optical properties were observed with the content of hexylthio side chain reducing. The P3HTT-33 displayed the highest field-effect transistor hole mobility of 2.83×10^(-2) cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1) resulting from a balance between the crystallinity and planarity. This study demonstrates modulating the content of hexylthio side chain in P3HTT is an effective strategy to optimize the opto-electronic properties of polymer obtaining excellent semiconductor device performance.

Serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D Level Might Be a Useful Indicator of Disease Severity in Obese Children With Atopic Dermatitis:A Case-Control Study

Objective:To assess the relationship between the severity of atopic dermatitis(AD)in children of varying weight categories and their serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D[25(OH)D]***:The study population comprised 899 patients with AD and 854 age-and sex-matched *** Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H tests were used to assess differences between groups,and Spearman correlation analysis was used to test ***:The 25(OH)D level in the AD group was M(Q_(25),Q_(75)),24.0(19.7,28.4)ng/mL,which was significantly lower than the control group(26.4[23.6,29.9]ng/mL;Z=-3.34,P=0.001).25(OH)D levels in children with AD were negatively correlated with body mass index(r=-0.30,P<0.001),Severity scoring of Atopic Dermatitis(SCORAD;r=-0.14,P<0.001),total immunoglobulin E(r=-0.13,P<0.001),and eosinophil(r=-0.08,P=0.017).There were statistically significant differences in 25(OH)D(H=18.46,P<0.001),total immunoglobulin E(H=9.13,P=0.010),eosinophil(H=67.17,P<0.001),and SCORAD(H=10.49,P=0.005)among groups with different body mass index *** 25(OH)D levels were 22.3(17.5,27.1)ng/mL in the overweight AD group and 22.3(17.6,25.7)ng/mL in the obese AD group,which were significantly lower than those in the normal-weight AD group(24.7[20.4,25.5]ng/mL;P=0.003,P=0.004).25(OH)D levels were negatively correlated with SCORAD in obese AD patients(r=-0.25,P=0.010).Conclusion:Vitamin D insufficient or deficient is obvious in children AD *** 25(OH)D levels in the overweight/obese AD group are significantly lower than those in the normal-weight AD *** D level is negatively correlated with SCORAD in obese children with AD.

A New Cytotoxic Acetogenin from the Seeds of Annona squamosa

A new Annonaceous acetogenin, squamostolide (1), was isolated from the seeds of Annona squamosa. Its structure was elucidated based on spectroscopic methods and comparison with known compounds. It is the first example of Annonaceous acetogenin with each of the two ends of the aliphatic chain bearing a g-lactone. The new compound exhibited cytotoxic activity in vitro against bel-7402 and CNE2 human tumor cell lines.

Soil Heavy Metal Pollution Around the Dabaoshan Mine,Guangdong Province,China

Soil contamination in the vicinity of the Dabaoshan Mine, Guangdong Province, China, was studied through determi- nation of total concentrations and chemical speciation of the toxic metals, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb, using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The results showed that over the past decades, the environmental pollution was caused by a combination of Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb, with tailings and acid mine drainage being the main pollution sources affecting soils. Significantly higher levels （P ≤ 0.05） of Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb were found in the tailings as compared with paddy, garden, and control soils, with averages of 1486, 2516, 6.42, and 429 mg kg^-1, respectively. These metals were continuously dispersed downstream from the tallings and waste waters, and therefore their concentrations in the paddy soils were as high as 567, 1 140, 2.48, and 191 mg kg^-1, respectively, being significantly higher （P ≤ 0.05） as compared with those in the garden soils. The results of sequential extraction of the above metals from all the soil types showed that the residual fraction was the dominant form. However, the amounts of metals that were bound to Fe-Mn oxides and organic matter were relatively higher than those bound to carbonates or those that existed in exchangeable forms. As metals could be transformed from an inert state to an active state, the potential environmental risk due to these metals would increase with time.

Cellulose nanofiber-coated delignified wood as an efficient filter for microplastic removal

Microplastics（MPs） are a new type of emerging pollutant in the aquatic environment that pose a tremendous risk to aquatic organisms and human health. Although many studies have focused on the removal of MPs, most of the materials used are non-renewable, non-degradable, and relatively costly. The development of green, renewable,and cost-effective materials for the removal of MPs presents a significant challenge. In this work, cellulose nanofiber-coated, delignified wood（CNF-CDW） was prepared and used as an efficient filter to remove MPs for the first time. Balsa wood chip was delignified through three approaches using NaClO2, Na2SO3/NaOH, and a deep eutectic solvent（DES） consisting of choline chloride/lactic acid. Delignified wood（DW） with desirable mechanical properties and a high pore structure was successfully prepared by optimizing the delignification method and reaction conditions. Subsequently, the CNF-CDW was prepared through immersion of DW in a suspension of cellulose nanofiber（CNF）, followed by crosslinking with CaCl2solutions. The effects of CNF concentration, CaCl2concentration, and wood chip thickness on the removal efficiency and flux of CNF-CDW towards polystyrene（PS）MPs were systematically studied. Under the optimal conditions of 0.5 wt% CNF, 1 mol/L CaCl2, and 10 mm in thickness, the CNF-CDW exhibited superior MPs removal performance, with a removal efficiency of 95.97% and a flux of 1146 L/m2·h. Morphological analysis revealed that CNF formed compact films on the surface DW, and MPs were efficiently blocked both on the surface and internal cellular structure of CNF-CDW. Therefore, with its exceptional filtration efficiency, high flux, and sustainable nature, CNF-CDW has a broad application prospect in the field of removing MPs from aquatic environment, promoting a brighter and cleaner future for aquatic ecosystems and human well-being.

Structural and magnetic properties of micropolycrystalline cobalt thin films fabricated by direct current magnetron sputtering
