Clastic sedimentary features of beachrocks and unconsolidated deposits of parent beaches were investigated along the northern Aegean coastline(Greece) to assess their suitability in palaeo-environmental *** paired datasets were collected in the Thermaikos,Toroneos,Siggitikos and lerissos gulfs of the Chalkidiki Peninsula,the adjoining Kavala Gulf and Thassos Island,comprising beachrock cores and companion beach subsurface *** size analyses based on univariate and bivariate statistics suggest that,during the time period of beachrock formation,depositional conditions differed distinctly from those of the modern parent *** results imply difference of maturity level of beach evolution from the time of cementation(coarser materials-early stage of beach formation) to modern situation(finer materials-reworked and ’mature’ beach sediments).Furthermore,the findings indicate increasing coastal protection due to beachrock exposure in the modern swash *** conclusion,it is suggested that textural analysis of beachrocks in comparison with unconsolidated sediments of the parent beach might provide information regarding differences of coastal depositional regimes and future research could focus on specific-layer analysis and comparison.

Bangladesh is renowned in disaster risk reduction(DRR)for active involvement of community people and local disaster management institutions in DRR *** study aimed to describe the disaster risk management(DRM)institutions and assess their functioning in six coastal unions across the three coastal zones of *** qualitative and quantitative research approaches were *** study focused on two key local institutions—the Union Disaster Management Committees(UDMCs)and the Cyclone Preparedness Program(CPP)—functioning at the union level in *** institutions have both horizontal and vertical collaborations with other ***,we argue that the UDMCs'external dependencies in their functioning indicate their limited financial and administrative autonomy,which is a barrier to successfully institutionalizing disaster *** results show that the CPP is the most successful program,markedly increasing the trust of the people in warning dissemination and evacuation efforts in the event of a *** the adoption of decentralized risk management systems has resulted in significant progress in increased rate of evacuation and reduced death rate and damage,lack of funding and equipment,limited coordination between institutions,lack of skilled and knowledgeable workforce,and inappropriate power structures may reduce the effectiveness of DRR activities prior to,during,and following disasters.

Understanding plant resistance to pathogenic microbes requires detailed information on the molecular mechanisms controlling the execution of plant innate immune responses. A growing body of evidence places phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C （PI-PLC） en- zymes immediately downstream of activated immune receptors, well upstream of the initiation of early defense responses. An increase of the cytoplasmic levels of free Ca2＋, lowering of the intercellular pH and the oxidative burst are a few examples of such responses and these areregulated by PI-PLCs. Consequently, PI-PLC activation represents an early primary signaling switch between elicitation and response involving the controlled hydrolysis of essential signaling phospholipids, thereby simulta- neously generating lipid and non-lipid second messenger molecules required for a swift cellular defense response. Here, we elaborate on the signals generated by PI-PLCs and their respective downstream effects, while providing an inventory of different types of evidence describing the involvement of PI-PLCs in various aspects of plant immunity. We project the discussed information into a model describing the cellular events occurring after the activation of plant immune receptors. With this review we aim to provide new insights supporting future research on plant PI-PLCs and the development of plants with improved resistance.

本课题主要内容是高精度小型摄像机运动系统的设计与实现。研究中需要对诸多参数进行调节以达到预期的目标,同时也需要方便后续的产品生产制造。课题的主要内容包括:-C++代码的优化。需要加速系统运算,避免延迟。同时开发了新算法,使其可以快速运行复杂三角轨迹。-无刷电机先进控制技术。为了找到最佳元器件及相应配置,本研究进行了大量的实验,并基于磁场定向控制(FOC)驱动正弦换向技术对该系统进行了实现。该系统采用PID控制器实现FOC,具有较高的动态响应和位置分辨率。-信号处理技术。信号处理一方面用于降低来自PWM技术造成的噪声以提供零噪声运动系统,另一方面用于对绝对角度位置传感器信号进行采样。本文同时实现了一种数字滤波器以降低传感器噪声,提高运动反馈精度。-机械零件的设计。该运动系统包含20多个部件,部件在初期都经过仔细设计以便于各部件的工业化生产、各部件的正常运作以及其正确的装配。构成系统的各元件刚度是至关重要的,因为因为部件的柔度在闭环响应系统中将会使系统运动陷入振荡状态。另外,本文同时对系统进行了动态建模用以将电机动力参数与电子控制模型进行连接。

Access to safe drinking water free from microbial pollution is an issue of global concern. The use of photocatalytic thin films in water treatment has focused on titanium dioxide, which requires UV-activation, proving a potential barrier to upscaling and implementation in the real world. Visible-light-activated photocatalytic thin films, such as bismuth oxide, have recently been shown to have antimicrobial properties. However, more understanding of the photocatalytic effect on the microbial population in water is required. Glass beads coated with bismuth oxide were incubated with either Microcystis aeruginosa, Anabaena sp. or free-floating genomic DNA. The presence of bismuth oxide-coated glass beads was able to rapidly stop a population of cyanobacteria from increasing. The coated beads were also able to degrade genomic DNA. Leachate from the beads showed no increase in toxicity against human liver cells. This data demonstrates the efficacy of bismuth oxide-coated glass beads for controlling potentially dangerous cyanobacterial populations, whilst potentially reducing the amount of free-floating genomic DNA(an essential issue in the face of antimicrobial resistance) – all of which should be essential considerations in emerging water treatment technologies.

Transportation networks are sized to efficiently achieve some set of service *** particular circumstances,such as the COVID-19 pandemic,the demand for transportation can significantly change,both qualitatively and quantitatively,resulting in an over-capacitated and less efficient *** this paper,we address this issue by proposing a framework for resizing the network to efficiently cope with the new *** framework includes a model to determine an optimal transportation sub-network that guarantees the following:(i)the minimal access time from any node of the urban network to the new sub-network has not excessively increased compared to that of the original transportation network;(ii)the delay induced on any itinerary by the removal of nodes from the original transportation network has not excessively increased;and(iii)the number of removed nodes from the transportation network is within a preset known factor.A solution is optimal if it induces a minimal global *** modelled this problem as a Mixed Integer Linear Program and applied it to the public bus transportation network of Lyon,France,in a case *** order to respond to operational issues,the framework also includes a decision tool that helps the network planners to decide which bus lines to close and which ones to leave open according to specific trade-off *** results on real data in Lyon show that the optimal sub-network from the MILP model can be used to feed the decision tool,leading to operational scenarios for network planners.

This numerical modeling study(i) assesses the influence of the sediment erosion process on the sediment dynamics and subsequent morphological changes of a mixed-sediment environment, the macrotidal Seine estuary, when non-cohesive particles are dominant within bed mixtures(non-cohesive regime), and(ii) investigates respective contributions of bedload and suspended load in these dynamics.A three dimensional(3 D) process-based morphodynamic model was set up and run under realistic forcings(including tide, waves, wind, and river discharge) during a 1-year period. Applying erosion homogeneously to bed sediment in the non-cohesive regime, i.e., average erosion parameters in the erosion law(especially the erodibility parameter, E0), leads to higher resuspension of fine sediment due to the presence of coarser fractions within mixtures, compared to the case of an independent treatment of erosion for each sediment class. This results in more pronounced horizontal sediment flux(two-fold increase for sand, +30% for mud) and erosion/deposition patterns(up to a two-fold increase in erosion over shoals, generally associated with some coarsening of bed sediment). Compared to observed bathymetric changes, more relevant erosion/deposition patterns are derived from the model when independent resuspension fluxes are considered in the non-cohesive regime. These results suggest that this kind of approach may be more relevant when local grain-size distributions become heterogeneous and multimodal for non-cohesive particles. Bedload transport appears to be a non-dominant but significant contributor to the sediment dynamics of the Seine Estuary mouth. The residual bedload flux represents, on average, between 17 and 38% of the suspended sand flux, its contribution generally increasing when bed sediment becomes coarser(can become dominant at specific locations). The average orientation of residual fluxes and erosion/deposition patterns caused by bedload generally follow those resulting from

We report lanthanide-based micelles integrating hypericin （Hyp） for X-ray- triggered photodynamic therapy （PDT）. The lanthanide luminescence induced by X-ray irradiation excites the photosensitizer, which leads to the generation of singlet oxygen. This versatile approach can be extended to other photosensitizers or other types of liponanoparticles and can allow for magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） guidance.

Over the past two decades, laser beam melting has emerged as the leading metal additive manufacturing process for producing small- and medium-size structures. However, a key obstacle for the application of this technique in industry is the lack of reliability and qualification mainly because of melt pool instabilities during the laser-powder interaction, which degrade the quality of the manufactured components. In this paper, we propose multi- wavelength digital holography as a proof of concept for in situ real-time investigation of the melt pool morphology. A two-wavelength digital holographic setup was co-axially implemented in a laser beam melting facility. The solidified aluminum tracks and melt pools during the manufacturing of 316L were obtained with full- field one-shot acquisitions at short exposure times and various scanning velocities. The evaluation of the complex coherence factor of digital holograms allowed the quality assessment of the phase reconstruction. The motion blur was analyzed by scanning the dynamic melt pool.
