Mycalamides A (1a) and B (1b) are potent antiviral compounds from a New Zealand sponge of the genus Mycale. Apart from their antitumor property, mycalamide A (1a) exhibits immunosuppressive action by blocking T-cell activation in mice and is significantly more potent than FK-506 and cyclosporine A. Because of their intriguing biological activity, unique structures and scarce supply of these natural products, mycalamides A (1a) and B (1b) have attracted considerable attention as target molecules for total synthesis, and total, formal, or partial syntheses of this family of compounds have been reported[1,2].

A composting toilet using sawdust as a matrix has the potential to trap pathogens that might occasionally be contained in human feces. Therefore, care should be taken when handling the sawdust. It should also be noted that pathogenic viruses tend to have stronger tolerance than pathogenic bacteria. The fates of several species of coliphages, T4, λ, Qβ and MS2, in sawdust were investigated as a viral model. The fates of coliphages were significantly different among them, and they changed in response to temperature and the water content of the sawdust. As the results, T4 coliphage had the strongest tolerance and Qβ had the weakest one in sawdust. It was estimated the days required to decrease virus to a safe level based on a risk assessment. According to the rates of Qβ and T4, 15 days and 167 days were required respectively for a safe level of infection risk based on actually operated composting toilet condition. Thus, it was significantly different depending on the species and sawdust conditions.

Recently,in the researches on vehicular Internet-of-Things(IoT),platooning have received lots of attentions due to its potential to improve the fuel efficiency and driving *** is a group of vehicles that act as smart agents,they travel collaboratively by following the leading human-driven vehicle.A vehicle in the platoon utilizes radar and wireless communication to share important information to other vehicles in the same platoon such as speed and acceleration,to realize the safe and efficient *** quality of wireless communication is of great importance to manage and maintain the ***,in a scenario that a large number of vehicles exist,communication delay and packet loss caused by channel congestion may endanger the safe intervehicle *** this paper,we introduce intervehicle communication with directional antenna into *** extensive simulations,we evaluate the packet delay and inter-vehicle distance in both normal driving and braking scenarios,and verify the usefulness of directional antenna in platooning for vehicular IoT.

In order to investigate the distribution of droplet sizes in the core region of diesel fuel spray, instantaneous measurement of droplet sizes was conducted by an advanced laser 2-focus velocimeter （L2F）. The micro-scale probe of the L2F is made up of two foci and the distance between them is 36 lain. The tested nozzle had a 0.2 mm diameter single-hole. The measurements of injection pressure, needle lift, and crank angle were synchronized with the measurement by the L2F at the position 10 mm downstream from the nozzle exit. It is clearly shown that the droplet near the spray axis is larger than that in the off-axis region under the needle full lift condition and that the spatial distribution of droplet sizes varies temporally. It is found that the probability density distribution of droplet sizes in the spray core region can be fitted m the Nukiyama-Tanasawa distribution in most injection periods.

It is well known that the Cauchy problem for Laplace equations is an ill-posed problem in Hadamard’s *** deviations in Cauchy data may lead to large errors in the *** is observed that if a bound is imposed on the solution,there exists a conditional stability *** gives a reasonable way to construct stable ***,it is impossible to have good results at all points in the *** numerical methods for Cauchy problems for Laplace equations have been widely studied for quite a long time,there are still some unclear points,for example,how to evaluate the numerical solutions,which means whether they can approximate the Cauchy data well and keep the bound of the solution,and at which points the numerical results are reliable?In this paper,the authors will prove the conditional stability estimate which is quantitatively related to harmonic *** harmonic measure can be used as an indicate function to pointwisely evaluate the numerical result,which further enables us to find a reliable subdomain where the local convergence rate is higher than a certain order.

We are developing an optical layer-2s witch network that uses both wavelength-division multiplexing and time-division multiplexing technologies for efficient traffic aggregation in metro *** efficient traffic aggregation,path bandwidth control is key because it strongly affects bandwidth *** this paper,we propose a dynamic time-slot allocation method that uses periodic information of difference values of traffic *** method can derive near-optimal allocation with lower computational cost,which enlarges the maximum available network size compared with conventional time-slot allocation *** results show that the proposed method enables dynamic path control in 1K-node-scale optical layer-2s witch network,which leads to cost-effective metro networks.

Recent advances in bionics have made it possible to create various tissue and *** this cell culture technology,engineers have developed a robot driven by three-dimensional cultured muscle cells(bioactuator)—a muscle cell *** more applications,researchers have been developed various tissues and organs with bio3D ***,three-dimensional cultured muscle cells printed by bio3D printer have been not used for muscle cell robot *** aim of our study is to develop easy fabrication method of bioactuator having high design flexibility like as bio3D *** fabricated three-dimensional cultured muscle cells using mold and dish having pin which can contribute to shape and cell *** this study,we observed that our method maintained the shape of three-dimensional cultured muscle cells and caused cell alignment which is important for bioactuator *** named three-dimensional cultured muscle cells developed in this study“bio-cultured artificial muscle(BiCAM)”.Finally,we observed that BiCAM contracted in response to electrical *** these data,we concluded our proposed method is easy fabrication method of bioactuator having high design flexibility.

The lattice Boltzmann method(LBM)for multicomponent immiscible fluids is applied to the simulations of solid-fluid mixture flows including spherical or nonspherical particles in a square pipe at Reynolds numbers of about 100.A spherical solid particle is modeled by a droplet with strong interfacial tension and large viscosity,and consequently there is no need to track the moving solid-liquid boundary ***(discoid,flat discoid,and biconcave discoid)solid particles are made by applying artificial forces to the spherical *** is found that the spherical particle moves straightly along a stable position between the wall and the center of the pipe(the Segr´e-Silberberg effect).On the other hand,the biconcave discoid particle moves along a periodic helical path around the center of the pipe with changing its orientation,and the radius of the helical path and the polar angle of the orientation increase as the hollow of the concave becomes large.
