The tree shrew(Tupaia belangeri)has long been proposed as a suitable alternative to non-human primates(NHPs)in biomedical and laboratory research due to its close evolutionary relationship with *** recent years,significant advances have facilitated tree shrew studies,including the determination of the tree shrew genome,genetic manipulation using spermatogonial stem cells,viral vector-mediated gene delivery,and mapping of the tree shrew brain ***,the limited availability of tree shrews globally remains a substantial challenge in the ***,determining the key questions best answered using tree shrews constitutes another *** shrew models have historically been used to study hepatitis B virus(HBV)and hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection,myopia,and psychosocial stress-induced depression,with more recent studies focusing on developing animal models for infectious and neurodegenerative *** these efforts,the impact of tree shrew models has not yet matched that of rodent or NHP models in biomedical *** review summarizes the prominent advancements in tree shrew research and reflects on the key biological questions addressed using this *** emphasize that intensive dedication and robust international collaboration are essential for achieving breakthroughs in tree shrew *** use of tree shrews as a unique resource is expected to gain considerable attention with the application of advanced techniques and the development of viable animal models,meeting the increasing demands of life science and biomedical research.

The efficiency of devices for bioelectronic applications,including cell and tissue stimulation,is heavily dependent on the scale and the performance *** miniaturization of stimulation electrodes,achieving a sufficiently high current pulse to elicit action potentials becomes an *** we report on our approach of vertically stacking organic p-n junctions to create highlyefficient multilayered organic semiconductor(MOS)photostimulation device.A tandem arrangement substantially increases the photovoltage and charge density without sacrificing lateral area,while not exceeding 200-500 nm of *** devices generate 4 times higher voltages and at least double the charge densities over single p-n junction devices,which allow using lower light intensities for *** devices show an outstanding stability in the electrolyte that is extremely important for forthcoming in vivo ***,we have validated MOS devices performance by photostimulating fibroblasts and neuroblasts,and found that using tandem devices leads to more effective action potential *** a result,we obtained up to 4 times enhanced effect in cell growth density using 3 p-n layered *** results corroborate the conclusion that MOS technology not only can achieve parity with state-of-the-art silicon devices,but also can exceed them in miniaturization and performance for biomedical applications.

Protopsyllidiidae Carpenter,1931 is an extinct hemipteran family belonging to the suborder *** family includes over 30 genera and 50 species(Grimaldi and Engel,2005),described from various ages(ranging from the Late Permian to the Upper Cretaceous) and different *** the last century,the classification of this family has been highly controversial amongst *** studied as wing impressions in rock,little is known on body *** family is mainly defined by vein R separating first from the common stem R+M+CuA instead of vein *** feature,which is shared only with Psylloidae,suggests a close relationship between them,thus placing the family Protopsyllidiidae in a basal position within the order and potentially as a stem group to the suborder Sternorrhynca(Hennig,1981;Kukalova-Peck,1991;Klimaszewski,1995;Grimaldi 2003).Postopsyllidium Grimaldi,2003 is the only genus comprised of entirely preserved adult specimens,which are described from both Burmese and New Jersey *** this study,we checked about 20 specimens of Postopsyllidium likely belonging to different *** the material is from the Burmese amber and housed in the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology,Chinese Academy of *** surveying this material,new major characters were recognized and documented:the presence of a second anal A2 in the forewing;R forked into R1 and R2 forming as such a very tiny remnant pterostigma,morphology of the male *** these traits were lacking in the original description,and overlooked by Grimaldi(2003) who disposed only a single unoptimally preserved specimen from each described species from Burmese and New Jersey *** new traits allow us to revise and update the generic diagnosis and the descriptions of the ***,two new species were identified and described from the Burmese amber,essentially based on the shape of the compound eyes in addition to some morphological differences in the

候鸟是A型禽流感病毒的自然宿主和储存库.为了深入了解我国候鸟禽流感病毒的流行规律及生态特点,本研究对长江流域越冬候鸟中的禽流感病毒进行长期监测,于2013~2017年间采集8000多份样本并分离出122株禽流感病毒.结果表明,长江流域越冬候鸟中禽流感病毒多样性丰富,监测期间发现8种HA亚型和8种NA亚型、18种HA-NA亚型组合.对其中108株病毒全基因组的分析表明,越冬地禽流感病毒基因组具有复杂的多样性,其中部分片段连续多个越冬季持续流行于候鸟中.进一步的系统发育分析表明越冬地禽流感病毒重配复杂且不同亚型重配模式截然不同.进化分析发现越冬候鸟病毒的一些基因片段与北美野鸟流行毒株高度相近,表明野鸟中禽流感病毒曾发生跨洲基因扩散.此外,家禽中流行的高致病H5和低致病H9禽流感病毒,跨越家禽/候鸟界面传播至野鸟中.综上,本研究是长江流域越冬候鸟大规模禽流感病毒监测的代表性工作,数年的监测数据凸显越冬候鸟在禽流感病毒生态分布中的重要作用,研究成果可为禽流感新毒株的突现提供早期预警.

地下水位变化对干旱区植被盖度的影响及其空间变异特征(英文)

Sampling and testing are conducted on groundwater depth and vegetation coverage in the 670 km2 of the Sangong River Basin and semi-variance function analysis is made afterwards on the data obtained by the application of geo-statistics. Results showed that the variance curve of the groundwater depth and vegetation coverage displays an exponential model. Analysis of sampling data in 2003 indicates that the groundwater depth and vegetation coverage change similarly in space in this area. The Sangong River Basin is composed of upper oasis, middle ecotone and lower sand dune. In oasis and ecotone, influenced by irrigation of the adjoining oasis, groundwater level has been raised and soil water content also increased compared with sand dune nearby, vegetation developed well. But in the lower reaches of the Sangong River Basin, because of descending of groundwater level, soil water content decreased and vegetation degenerated. From oasis to abandoned land and desert grassland, vegetation coverage and groundwater level changed greatly with significant difference respectively in spatial variation. Distinct but similar spatial variability exists among the groundwater depth and vegetation coverage in the study area, namely, the vegetation coverage decreasing (increasing) as the groundwater depth increases (decreases). This illustrates the great dependence of vegetation coverage on groundwater depth in arid regions and further implies that among the great number of factors affecting vegetation coverage in arid regions, groundwater depth turns out to be the most determinant one.
