A new fabrication method for enhancing the yield of linear micromirror arrays assisted by temporary anchors

As one of the most common spatial light modulators,linear micromirror arrays(MMAs)based on microelectromechanical system(MEMS)processes are currently utilized in many ***,two crucial challenges exist in the fabrication of such devices:the adhesion of silicon microstructures caused by anodic bonding and the destruction of the suspended silicon film due to residual *** solve these issues,an innovative processing method assisted by temporary anchors is *** approach effectively reduces the span of silicon microstructures and improves the Euler buckling limit of the silicon ***,these temporary anchors are strategically placed within the primary etching areas,enabling easy removal without additional processing *** a result,we successfully achieved wafer-level,high-yield manufacturing of linear MMAs with a filling factor as high as 95.1%.Demonstrating superior capabilities to those of original MMAs,our enhanced version boasts a total of 60 linear micromirror elements,each featuring a length-to-width ratio of 52.6,and the entire optical aperture measures 5 mm×6 *** linear MMA exhibits an optical deflection angle of 20.4°at 110 Vdc while maintaining exceptional deflection flatness and *** study offers a viable approach for the design and fabrication of thin-film MEMS devices with high yields,and the proposed MMA is promising as a replacement for digital micromirror devices(DMDs,by TI Corp.)in fields such as spectral imaging and optical communication.

DNA-delivered monoclonal antibodies targeting the p53 R175H mutant epitope inhibit tumor development in mice

tThe tumor suppressor p53 is the most common mutated gene in cancer,with the R175H as the most frequent p53 missense ***,there are currently no approved targeted therapies or immunotherapies against mutant ***,we characterized and inves-tigated a monoclonal antibody(mAb)that recognizes the mutant p53-R175H for its affinity,specificity,and activity against tumor cells in *** then delivered DNA plasmids expres-sing the anti-R175H mAb or a bispecific antibody(BsAb)into mice to evaluate their therapeutic *** results showed that the anti-R175H mAb specifically bound to the p53-R175H an-tigen with a high affinity and recognized the human mutant p53-R175H antigen expressed on HEK293T or MC38 cells,with no cross-reactivity with wild-type *** cultured cells,the anti-R175H mAb showed higher cytotoxicity than the control but did not induce antibody-dependent cellular *** made a recombinant MC38 mouse cell line(MC38-p53-R175H)that overexpressed the human p53-R175H after knocking out the endogenous mutant p53 *** vivo,administration of the anti-R175H mAb plasmid elicited a robust anti-tumor effect against MC38-p53-R175H in *** administration of the anti-R175H BsAb plasmid showed no therapeutic effects,yet potent anti-tumor activity was observed in combination with the anti-PD-1 *** results indicate that targeting specific mutant epitopes using DNA-delivered mAbs or BsAbs presents a form of improved natural immunity derived from tumor-infiltrating B cells and plasma cells against intracellular tumor antigens.

Structural design of mid-infrared waveguide detectors based on InAs/GaAsSb superlattice

In the realm of near-infrared spectroscopy, the detection of molecules has been achieved using on-chip waveguides and resonators. In the mid-infrared band, the integration and sensitivity of chemical sensing chips are often constrained by the reliance on off-chip light sources and detectors. In this study, we demonstrate an InAs/ GaAsSb superlattice mid-infrared waveguide integrated detector. The GaAsSb waveguide layer and the InAs/ GaAsSb superlattice absorbing layer are connected through evanescent coupling, facilitating efficient and highquality detection of mid-infrared light with minimal loss. We conducted a simulation to analyze the photoelectric characteristics of the device. Additionally, we investigated the factors that affect the integration of the InAs/GaAsSb superlattice photodetector and the GaAsSb waveguide. Optimal thicknesses and lengths for the absorption layer are determined. When the absorption layer has a thickness of 0. 3 mu m and a length of 50 mu m, the noise equivalent power reaches its minimum value, and the quantum efficiency can achieve a value of 68. 9%. The utilization of waveguide detectors constructed with III-V materials offers a more convenient means of integrating mid-infrared light sources and achieving photoelectric detection chips.

Sensing properties and mechanisms of LaF_(3)-Co_(3)O_(4) nanorods for low-concentration methanol detection

Methanol is one of the characteristic gases that distinguish between healthy individuals and lung cancer(LC)lesions in exhaled human *** concentration in exhaled breath is generally below one part per million(1×10^(-6)).The second-phase composite is widely regarded as one of the methods to improve the gas-sensing perfor-mance of metal oxide semiconductor(MOS)*** this study,LaF_(3)-Co_(3)O_(4) was synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method to enhance its low-concentration methanol gas-sensing performance.5 at%LaF_(3)-Co_(3)O_(4) nanorods exhibited excellent methanol detection performance,including a wider linear detection concentration range(0.2×10^(-6)~5×10^(-6)),a response value exceeding 4.0 for 1×10^(-6)methanol at 275°C and 75%relative humidity(RH),long-term stability(maximum deviation within 15%over 2 weeks),and excellent *** mechanism of performance enhancement was studied using various techniques,and density functional *** special spinel structure of Co_(3)O_(4),the high ionic migration of F-in LaF_(3),the larger specific surface area of 5 at%LaF_(3)-Co_(3)O_(4) nanorods,and the generated crystal defects all explain the excellentmethanol gas-sensing *** work provides a novel route to prepare MOS composite materials for low-concentration methanol gas detection.

Attention-Enhanced Voice Portrait Model Using Generative Adversarial Network

Voice portrait technology has explored and established the relationship between speakers’ voices and their facialfeatures, aiming to generate corresponding facial characteristics by providing the voice of an unknown *** to its powerful advantages in image generation, Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) have now beenwidely applied across various fields. The existing Voice2Face methods for voice portraits are primarily based onGANs trained on voice-face paired datasets. However, voice portrait models solely constructed on GANs facelimitations in image generation quality and struggle to maintain facial similarity. Additionally, the training processis relatively unstable, thereby affecting the overall generative performance of the model. To overcome the abovechallenges,wepropose a novel deepGenerativeAdversarialNetworkmodel for audio-visual synthesis, namedAVPGAN(Attention-enhanced Voice Portrait Model using Generative Adversarial Network). This model is based ona convolutional attention mechanism and is capable of generating corresponding facial images from the voice ofan unknown speaker. Firstly, to address the issue of training instability, we integrate convolutional neural networkswith deep GANs. In the network architecture, we apply spectral normalization to constrain the variation of thediscriminator, preventing issues such as mode collapse. Secondly, to enhance the model’s ability to extract relevantfeatures between the two modalities, we propose a voice portrait model based on convolutional attention. Thismodel learns the mapping relationship between voice and facial features in a common space from both channeland spatial dimensions independently. Thirdly, to enhance the quality of generated faces, we have incorporated adegradation removal module and utilized pretrained facial GANs as facial priors to repair and enhance the clarityof the generated facial images. In recent years,the issue of aircraft icing has gained widespread *** breaking and detachment of dynamic ice can pose a threat to flight ***,the shedding and fracture mechanisms of dynamic ice are unclear and cannot meet the engineering needs of ice-shedding hazard ***,studying the fracture toughness of ice bodies has extremely important practical *** address this issue,this article uses a centrally cracked Brazilian disk(CCBD)specimen to measure the pure modeⅠtoughness and pure modeⅡfracture toughness of freshwater ice at different loading *** mixed-mode(Ⅰ–Ⅱ)fracture characteristics of ice are discussed,and the experimental results are compared and analyzed with the theoretical values of the generalized maximum tangential stress(GMTS)criterion considering the influence of *** results indicated that as the loading rate increases,the pure modeⅠtoughness and pure modeⅡfracture toughness of freshwater ice decrease,and the fracture toughness of freshwater ice is more sensitive to the loading rate.Ⅰn terms of fracture criteria,the theoretical value of the ratio of pure modeⅡfracture toughness to pure modeⅠfracture toughness based on the GMTS criterion is in good agreement with the experimental value,while the theoretical value based on the maximum tangential stress(MTS)criterion deviates significantly from the experimental value,indicating that the GMTS criterion considering the influence of T-stress can better predict the experimental results.

Enhanced hepatic metabolic perturbation of polystyrene nanoplastics by UV irradiation-induced hydroxyl radical generation

The environmental behavior of and risks associated with nanoplastics(NPs)have attracted considerable ***,compared to pristine NPs,environmental factors such as ultraviolet(UV)irradiation that lead to changes in the toxicity of NPs have rarely been *** evaluated the changes in morphology and physicochemical properties of polystyrene(PS)NPs before and after UV irradiation,and compared their hepatotoxicity in *** results showed that UV irradiation caused particle size reduction and increased the carbonyl index(CI)and negative charge on the particle ***-aged PS NPs(aPS NPs)could induce the generation of hydroxyl radicals(·OH),but also further promoted the generation of·OH in the Fenton reaction *** pathological damage was more severe in mice exposed to aPS NPs,accompanied by a large number of vacuoles and hepatocyte balloon-like changes and more marked perturbations in blood glucose and serum lipoprotein,alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase *** addition,exposure to PS NPs and aPS NPs,especially aPS NPs,triggered oxidative stress and significantly damaged the antioxidant capacity of mice *** with PS NPs,exposure to aPS NPs increased the number of altered metabolites in hepatic and corresponding metabolic pathways,especially glutathione *** research suggests that UV irradiation can disrupt the redox balance in organisms by promoting the production of·OH,enhancing PS NPs-induced liver damage and metabolic *** study will help us understand the health risks of NPs and to avoid underestimation of the risks of NPs in nature.

Graded Heterojunction Improves Wide-Bandgap Perovskite for Highly Efficient 4-Terminal Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Solar Cells

Legume green manure can intensify the function of chemical nitrogen fertilizer substitution via increasing nitrogen supply and uptake of wheat

Achieving the green development of agriculture requires the reduction of chemical nitrogen(N)fertilizer *** studies have confirmed that returning green manure to the field is an effective measure to improve crop yields while substituting partial chemical N ***,it remains unclear how to further intensify the substituting function of green manure and elucidate its underlying agronomic *** a split-plot field experiment in spring wheat,different green manures returned to the field under reduced chemical N supply was established in an oasis area since 2018,in order to investigate the effect of green manure and reduced N on grain yield,N uptake,N use efficiency(NUE),N nutrition index,soil organic matter,and soil N of wheat in *** results showed that mixed sown common vetch and hairy vetch can substitute 40%of chemical N fertilizer without reducing grain yield or N ***,mixed sown common vetch and hairy vetch under reduced N by 20%showed the highest N agronomy efficiency and recovery efficiency,which were 92.0%and 46.0%higher than fallow after wheat harvest and conventional N application rate,*** increase in NUE of wheat was mainly attributed to mixed sown common vetch and hairy vetch,which increased N transportation quantity and transportation rate at pre-anthesis,enhanced N harvest index,optimized N nutrition index,and increased activities of nitrate reductase and glutamine synthetase of leaf,***,mixed sown common vetch and hairy vetch under reduced N by 20%improved soil organic matter and N ***,mixed sown common vetch and hairy vetch can substitute 40%of chemical N fertilizer while maintaining grain yield and N accumulation,and it combined with reduced chemical N by 20%or 40%improved NUE of wheat via enhancing N supply and uptake.
