FoxP3^(+)regulatory T cells(Tregs)play crucial roles in peripheral immune *** addition,Tregs that reside or accumulate in nonlymphoid tissues,called tissue Tregs,exhibit tissue-specific functions and contribute to the maintenance of tissue homeostasis and *** an experimental mouse model of crescentic glomerulonephritis induced by an anti-glomerular basement membrane antibody,Tregs started to accumulate in the kidney on day 10 of disease onset and remained at high levels(~30–35%of CD4^(+)T cells)during the late stage(days 21–90),which correlated with stable disease *** depletion on day 21 resulted in the relapse of renal dysfunction and an increase in Th1 cells,suggesting that Tregs are essential for disease control during the convalescence *** Tregs that accumulated in the kidney showed tissue Treg phenotypes,including high expression of GATA3,ST2(the IL33 receptor subunit),amphiregulin(Areg),and PPARγ.Although T-bet^(+) Tregs and RORγt^(+) Tregs were observed in the kidney,GATA3^(+) Tregs were predominant during the convalescence stage,and a PPARγagonist enhanced the accumulation of GATA3^(+) Tregs in the *** understand the function of specific genes in kidney Tregs,we developed a novel T cell transfer system to T cell-deficient *** experiment demonstrates that ST2,Areg,and CCR4 in Tregs play important roles in the accumulation of GATA3^(+) Tregs in the kidney and in the amelioration of renal *** data suggest that GATA3 is important for the recruitment of Tregs into the kidney,which is necessary for convalescence after renal tissue destruction.

Evaluation of fatigue and rutting properties of asphalt binderand mastic modified by synthesized polyurethane

Fatigue and rutting phenomena are major distresses in asphalt *** mixture properties are highly dependent upon the asphalt binder and the mastic *** purpose of this study was to investigate the behavior of the asphalt binder and the mastic,modified by the synthesized polyurethane,at high and intermediate *** filler/asphalt binder ratio(by weight)was *** dynamic shear rheometer(DSR)was used to measure fatigue(G^(*)sinδ)and rutting(G^(*)/sinδ)*** this study,the multiple stress creepandrecovery(MSCR)testwasalso utilizedto calculate the ruttingpotential of theasphalt binder and *** of the non-recoverable compliance(Jnr)and the percentage recovery(%)were evaluated at high *** obtained results indicated that the synthesizedpolyurethaneimproved the ruttingandfatigue *** significant correlation between the asphalt binder and the mastic in terms of the complex modulus(R^(2)=0.9958),rutting(R^(2)=0.9944),and the non-recoverable compliance(R^(2)=0.9707).For the fatigue parameter(R^(2)=0.9852),the complex modulus(R^(2)=0.9855),and the phase angle(R^(2)=0.8262),significant relationships were observed between the asphalt binder and mastic samples at intermediate ***,the chemical reaction between the filler and the asphalt binder could be effective in different behaviors of the mastic and asphalt *** 112%-164%increase in the G^(*)sinδparameter formastics,compared to that of the asphalt *** complex modulus was 6 times higher by adding the filler content.

Hydrocyclones are mechanical devices used in classifying and separating many different types of materials.A classification function of the hydrocyclone has been continually developed for solid–liquid *** the classification process of solids from liquids,it is desirable to reduce the amount of misplaced material;therefore,the separation sharpness,α(alpha),is a parameter that helps in evaluating misplaced material and has been developed as a model to help the designer predict the performance of the ***,the problem with the separation sharpness model is that it cannot be used outside the range of conditions under which it was ***,this research aimed to develop the separation sharpness model to predict more accurately and cover a wide range of conditions using the multiple linear regression *** new regression model of separation sharpness was based on a wide range of both experimental and industrial data-sets of 431 tests collaborating with the additional experiments of 117 tests that were obtained from a total of 548 *** new model of separation sharpness can be used in the range of 30–762 mm hydrocyclone body diameters and feed solid concentrations in the range of 0.5 wt%–80 wt%.When compared with the experimental separation sharpness,the accuracy of the separation sharpness model prediction has an error of 4.53%and^of 0.973.

Preparation and characterization of ceramic materials with low thermal conductivity and high strength using high-calcium fly ash

High calcium-fly ash(HCFA)collected from the Mae Moh electricity generating plant in Thailand was utilized as a raw material for ceramic *** main compositions of HCFA characterized by X-ray fluorescence mainly consisted of 28.55wt%SiO_(2),16.06wt%Al_(2)O_(3),23.40wt%CaO,and 17.03wt%Fe_(2)O_(3).Due to high proportion of calcareous and ferruginous contents,HCFA was used for replacing the potash feldspar in amounts of 10wt%-40wt%.The influence of substituting high-calcium fly ash(0-40wt%)and sintering temperatures(1000-1200℃)on physical,mechanical,and thermal properties of ceramic-based materials was *** results showed that the in-corporation of HCFA in appropriate amounts could enhance the densification and the strength as well as reduce the thermal conductivity of ceramic *** proportion of calcareous and ferruginous constituents in fly ash promoted the vitrification behavior of ceramic *** a result,the densification was enhanced by liquid phase formation at optimum fly ash content and sintering *** addition,these components also facilitated a more abundant mullite formation and consequently improved flexural strength of the ceramic *** op-timum ceramic properties were achieved with adding fly ash content between 10wt%-30wt%sintered at 1150-1200℃.At 1200℃,the max-imum flexural strength of ceramic-FA samples with adding fly ash 10wt%-30wt%(PSW-FA(10)-(30))was obtained in the range of 92.25-94.71 MPa when the water absorption reached almost zero(0.03%).In terms of thermal insulation materials,the increase in fly ash addi-tion had a positively effect on the thermal conductivity,due to the higher levels of porosity created by gas evolving from the inorganic decom-position reactions inside the ceramic-FA *** addition of 20wt%-40wt%high-calcium fly ash in ceramic samples sintered at 1150℃reduced the thermal conductivity to 14.78%-49.25%,while maintaining acceptable flexural strength values(~45.67-87.62 MPa).

Microbiota in the stomach and application of probiotics to gastroduodenal diseases

The intestinal epithelial cells(IECs) form a selective permeability barrier separating luminal content from underlying *** injury,the intestinal epithelium undergoes a wound healing *** wound healing is dependent on the balance of three cellular events;restitution,proliferation,and differentiation of epithelial cells adjacent to the wounded *** studies have shown that various regulatory peptides,including growth factors and cytokines,modulate intestinal epithelial wound *** studies have revealed that novel factors,which include toll-like receptors(TLRs),regulatory peptides,particular dietary factors,and some gastroprotective agents,also modulate intestinal epithelial wound *** these factors,the activation of TLRs by commensal bacteria is suggested to play an essential role in the maintenance of gut *** studies suggest that mutations and dysregulation of TLRs could be major contributing factors in the predisposition and perpetuation of inflammatory bowel ***,studies have shown that specific signaling pathways are involved in IEC wound *** this review,we summarize the function of IECs,the process of intestinal epithelial wound healing,and the functions and mechanisms of the various factors that contribute to gut homeostasis and intestinal epithelial wound healing.

Controllable multi-domain semantic artwork synthesis

We present a novel framework for the multidomain synthesis of artworks from semantic *** of the main limitations of this challenging task is the lack of publicly available segmentation datasets for art *** address this problem,we propose a dataset called ArtSem that contains 40,000 images of artwork from four different domains,with their corresponding semantic label *** first extracted semantic maps from landscape photography and used a conditional generative adversarial network(GAN)-based approach for generating high-quality artwork from semantic maps without requiring paired training ***,we propose an artwork-synthesis model using domain-dependent variational encoders for high-quality multi-domain ***,the model was improved and complemented with a simple but effective normalization method based on jointly normalizing semantics and style,which we call spatially style-adaptive normalization(SSTAN).Compared to the previous methods,which only take semantic layout as the input,our model jointly learns style and semantic information representation,improving the generation quality of artistic *** results indicate that our model learned to separate the domains in the latent ***,we can perform fine-grained control of the synthesized artwork by identifying hyperplanes that separate the different ***,by combining the proposed dataset and approach,we generated user-controllable artworks of higher quality than that of existing approaches,as corroborated by quantitative metrics and a user study.
