To increase the payload,reduce energy consumption,improve work efficiency and therefore must accordingly reduce the total hull weight of the *** paper introduces a design optimization process for the pressurehull of submarines under uniform external hydrostatic pressure using bothfinite element analysis(FEA)and optimization tools.A comprehensive study about the optimum design of the pressure hull,to minimize the weight and increase the volume,to reach minimum buoyancy factor and maximum operating depth minimizing the buoyancy factor(B.F)is taken as an objective function with constraints of plate and frame yielding,general instability and *** optimization process contains many design variables such as pressure-hull plate thickness,unsupported spacing,dimensions of long and ring beams andfinally the elliptical submersible pressure-hull *** optimization process was conducted using ANSYS parametric design language(APDL)and *** Multi-Island Genetic Algorithm(G.A)is considered to conduct the optimization ***,parametric analysis is done on the pressure hull to examine the effect of different design variables on the pressure-hull *** a result,the B.F of the proposed optimal model is reduced by an average of 31.78%compared with Reference Model(RM).Maximum von Mises stress is reduced by 27%as *** results can be helpful for submarine pressure-hull designers.

An Efficient Method for Epileptic Seizure Detection in Long-Term EEG Recordings

Epilepsy is one of the most prevalent neurological disorders with no age, racial, social class, and neither national nor geographic boundaries. There are 50 million sufferers in the world today with 2.4 million new cases occur each year. Electroencephalogram (EEG) has become a traditional procedure to investigate abnormal functioning of brain activity. Epileptic EEG is usually characterized by short transients and sharp waves as spikes. Identification of such event splays a crucial role in epilepsy diagnosis and treatment. The present study proposes a method to detect three epileptic spike types in EEG recordings based mainly on Template Matching Algorithm including multiple signal-processing approaches. The method was applied to real clinical EEG data of epileptic patients and evaluated according to sensitivity, specificity, selectivity and average detection rate. The promising results illuminate that hybrid processing approaches in temporal, frequency and spatial domains can be a real solution to identify fast EEG transients.

Subgroup Discovery Algorithms： A Survey and Empirical Evaluation

Subgroup discovery is a data mining technique that discovers interesting associations among different variables with respect to a property of interest. Existing subgroup discovery methods employ different strategies for searching, pruning and ranking subgroups. It is very crucial to learn which features of a subgroup discovery algorithm should be considered for generating quality subgroups. In this regard, a number of reviews have been conducted on subgroup discovery. Although they provide a broad overview on some popular subgroup discovery methods, they employ few datasets and measures for subgroup evaluation. In the light of the existing measures, the subgroups cannot be appraised from all perspectives. Our work performs an extensive analysis on some popular subgroup discovery methods by using a wide range of datasets and by defining new measures for subgroup evaluation. The analysis result will help with understanding the major subgroup discovery methods, uncovering the gaps for further improvement and selecting the suitable category of algorithms for specific application domains.

Effects of grid size on predictions of bed expansion in bubbling fluidized beds of Geldart B particles： A generalized rule for a grid-independent solution of TFM simulations

Numerical simulations of gas-solid fluidized beds based on the kinetic theory of granular flow exhibit a significant dependence on domain discretization. Bubble formation, bubble size and shape all vary greatly with the discretization, and the use of an inappropriate scale resolution leads to inaccurate predictions of fluidization hydrodynamics. In this study, grid-independent solutions of the two fluid model were examined by comparing the bed expansions obtained from numerical simulations with experimental results and empirical predictions, based on bubbling fluidized beds of Geldart B particles. Grid indepen- dence was achieved with a grid resolution equal to 18 times the particle diameter. The simulation results were compared with previously published data for verification purposes. The results of this work should provide a guideline for choosing the appropriate grid size and thereby minimize the time and expense associated with large simulations.

A new approach for fuel injection into a solar receiver/ reactor:Numerical and experimental investigation

An innovative and efficient design of solar receivers/reactors can enhance the production of clean fuels via concentrated solar energy. This study presents a new jet-type burner nozzle for gaseous feedstock injection into a cavity solar receiver inspired from the combustion technology. The nozzle design was adapted from a combustion burner and successfully implemented into a solar receiver and studied the influence of the nozzle design on the fluid mixing and temperature distribution inside the solar receiver using a 7 kW solar simulator and nitrogen as working fluid. Finally, a thorough computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was performed and validated against the experimental results. The CFD results showed a variation of the gas flow pattern and gas mixing after the burner nozzle adaptation, which resulted an intense effect on the heat transfer inside the solar receiver.

The growth characterlstlcs, different physlological parameters, photosynthetic activity （^14CO2 fixation）, and the translocatlon rate of photoassimllates In different taro （Colocasia esculenta L. Schott） genotypes was studled In order to determlne the posslble use of these parameters as selectlon crlterla for dlfferent wldely used genotypes of taro （Delta No. 9, 15, 20, 21, and balady）. The results obtalned suggest that Delta No. 21 shows the most slgnlflcant increase In all parameters tested compared wlth the control （balady）, followed by Delta No. 9, 15, and 20, respectively. The results show a positive correlation between photosynthetlc actlvlty, translocatlon efflclency, and total yield. The selected clone Delta No. 21 Is recommended for cultlvatlon In the delta reglon of Egypt.

A broad learning-based comprehensive defence against SSDP reflection attacks in IoTs

The proliferation of Internet of Things(IoT)rapidly increases the possiblities of Simple Service Discovery Protocol(SSDP)reflection *** DDoS attack defence strategies deploy only to a certain type of devices in the attack chain,and need to detect attacks in advance,and the detection of DDoS attacks often uses heavy algorithms consuming lots of computing *** paper proposes a comprehensive DDoS attack defence approach which combines broad learning and a set of defence strategies against SSDP attacks,called Broad Learning based Comprehensive Defence(BLCD).The defence strategies work along the attack chain,starting from attack sources to *** defends against attacks without detecting attacks or identifying the roles of IoT devices in SSDP reflection *** also detects suspicious traffic at bots,service providers and victims by using broad learning,and the detection results are used as the basis for automatically deploying defence strategies which can significantly reduce DDoS *** evaluations,we thoroughly analyze attack traffic when deploying BLCD to different defence *** show that BLCD can reduce the number of packets received at the victim to 39 without affecting the standard SSDP service,and detect malicious packets with an accuracy of 99.99%.
