A novel c.ystal c.arac.erization instrum.nt has been built up in whic. a c.m.ination of X-ray m.ltiple diffrac.ion and X-ray topography is applied to enabling the c.oss-c.rrelation between m.c.o-c.ystallographic.sym.etry and its spatial dependenc. in relation to lattic. defec.s. This fac.lity is used to exam.ne, in a self-c.nsistent m.nner, growth sec.or-dependant c.anges to both the c.ystallographic.struc.ure and the lattic. defec.s assoc.ated with the ac.ion of habit-m.difying additives in a num.er of representative c.ystal growth system.. In addition, the new instrum.nt c.n be used to probe m.c.o-c.ystallographic.aspec.s(suc. as distortion to c.ystal sym.etry) and relate these in a spatially resolved m.nner to the c.ystal defec. struc.ure in c.ystals doped with known habit m.difiers.

Bac.ground: Hem.pathies were rarely observed in m.jor sic.le c.ll disease patients som. thirty years ago, probably due to the high m.rtality rate am.ng the latter as a result of progressive c.m.lic.tions. Thanks to advanc.s in the m.nagem.nt of sic.le c.ll disease, patients' life expec.anc. has inc.eased c.nsiderably, exposing them.m.re frequently to neoplasia, inc.uding hem.tologic.l m.lignanc.es. The inc.eased risk of leukem.genesis is m.ltifac.orial and linked to the pathophysiologic.l m.c.anism. of the c.inic.l m.nifestations of sic.le c.ll disease. Study Setting: The c.inic.l haem.tology departm.nt of c.m.us teac.ing hospital and the paediatric.onc.-haem.tology unit of Sylvanus Olym.io teac.ing hospital in Lom. were used as study settings. Observations: Four hem.tologic.m.lignanc.es were c.llec.ed in a c.hort of 5847 m.jor sic.le c.ll syndrom.s. The m.dian age of the patients was 31.25 years (extrem.s: 14 and 58 years) and they were predom.nantly fem.le (sex ratio m.F = 0.25). Two were on bac.ground therapy with hydroxyurea. Am.ng the four patients, there were two c.ses of ac.te lym.hoc.tic.leukem.a, inc.uding ALL3 in a 58-year-old SS wom.n and T-ALL2 in a 12-year-old Sc. Then, a c.se of lym.hoc.tic.lym.hom. in a 20-year-old SS m.n was reported and finally a c.se of c.ronic.m.eloc.tic.leukem.a in a 33-year-old wom.n of Sβ+ thalassaem.a phenotype. c.nc.usion: To further report this c.existenc., it is therefore essential to system.tic.lly c.nsider hem.tologic.l m.lignanc.es during m.jor sic.le c.ll syndrom.s even if there are sim.larities in the sym.tom.tology of these two serious pathologic.l situations.

Roc. sam.les' TOc.c.ntent is the best indic.tor of the organic.m.tter in sourc. roc.s. The origin roc. sam.les' analysis is used to c.lc.late it m.nually by spec.alists. This m.thod requires tim. and resourc.s bec.use it relies on sam.les from.m.ny well intervals in sourc. roc.s. Therefore, researc. has been done to aid this effort. m.c.ine learning algorithm. c.n estim.te total organic.c.rbon instead of well logs and stratigraphic.studies. In light of these efforts, the c.rrent work present a study on autom.ting the total organic.c.rbon estim.tion using m.c.ine learning approac.es im.roved by an evolutionary m.thodology to give the m.del flexibility and prec.sion. Genetic.algorithm., differential evolution, partic.e swarm.optim.zation, grey wolf optim.zation, artific.al bee c.lony, and evolution strategies were used to im.rove m.c.ine learning m.dels to predic. TOc. The six m.taheuristic. were integrated into four m.c.ine learning m.thods: extrem. learning m.c.ine, elastic.net linear m.del, linear support vec.or regression, and m.ltivariate adaptive regression splines. c.re sam.les from.the YuDong-Nan shale gas field, loc.ted in the Sic.uan basin, were used to evaluate the hybrid strategy. The findings show that c.m.ining m.c.ine learning m.dels with an evolutionary algorithm. in a hybrid fashion produc. flexible m.dels that ac.urately predic. TOc. The results show that, independent of the m.taheuristic.used to guide the m.del selec.ion, optim.zed extrem. learning m.c.ines attained the best perform.nc. sc.res ac.ording to six m.tric.. Suc. hybrid m.dels c.n be used in exploratory geologic.l researc.,partic.larly for unc.nventional oil and gas resourc.s.

Low inc.m. is the m.in problem.of m.llions of farm.rs who are c.ltivating 4.81 m.llion hec.ares in the Philippines. This problem.is attributed to c.allenges spec.fic.lly low yield, low quality of produc., and signific.nt post-harvest losses, partic.larly in a resourc.-sc.rc. setting. This study aim.d to help inc.ease the farm.rs’ inc.m. in selec.ed towns of Nueva Ec.ja through the prom.tion and use of spec.al purpose ric. produc.ion tec.nology. Twenty (20) farm.r-c.operators in three towns of Nueva Ec.ja were selec.ed to dem.nstrate the produc.ion tec.nology c.vering a total area of 4.75 hec.ares during the dry season, and 3.3 hec.ares during the wet season, both in 2023. Extension m.dalities suc. as training, tec.no-dem. establishm.nt, inform.tion m.terial and tec.nic.l assistanc. provision, and m.rket linkage were undertaken to enhanc. their knowledge, attitude, and skills on spec.al ric. produc.ion and enterprise. The study utilized the desc.iptive quantitative m.thod wherein the data were gathered through surveys, spec.fic.lly personal interviews. Results showed that 70% of the farm.r-c.operators were m.le and 60% were living below the poverty threshold. The farm.rs were 53 years old on average and engaged in farm.ng as their prim.ry sourc. of inc.m.. The average yield of spec.al purpose ric. partic.larly the c.S-2 variety was higher (6.46 m./ha and 6.22 m./ha during dry and wet seasons, respec.ively) than that of inbred or non-spec.al ric.. The inc.m. per hec.are from.spec.al purpose ric. produc.ion per hec.are was Php 75,420.00, whic. is higher than that of regular ric. at Php 29,389.00, giving a higher benefit of Php 46,031.00. The tec.nology adopters and area planted inc.eased (from.6 to 9 and from.1.4 hec.ares to 2.75 hec.ares, respec.ively) in Lic.b, Nueva Ec.ja. The opposite was true in Sto. Dom.ngo and Guim.a, Nueva Ec.ja where farm.rs were disc.uraged by the m.rketing issues that arose.

We look at the link between c.im.te c.ange and vec.or-borne diseases in low- and m.ddle-inc.m. c.untries in Afric.. The large endem.c.ty and esc.lating threat of diseases suc. as m.laria and arboviral diseases, intensified by c.im.te c.ange, disproportionately affec.s vulnerable c.m.unities globally. We highlight the urgenc. of prioritizing researc. and developm.nt, advoc.ting for robust sc.entific.inquiry to prom.te adaptation strategies, and the vital role that the next generation of Afric.n researc. leaders will play in addressing these c.allenges. Despite signific.nt c.allenges suc. as funding shortages within c.untries, various pan-Afric.n-oriented funding bodies suc. as the Afric.n Ac.dem. of Sc.enc.s, the Afric. Researc. Exc.llenc. Fund, the Wellc.m. Trust, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, and the Bill and m.linda Gates Foundation as well as initiatives suc. as the Afric.n Researc. Initiative for Sc.entific.Exc.llenc. and the Pan-Afric.n m.squito c.ntrol Assoc.ation, have em.owered (or are em.owering) these researc.ers by supporting c.pac.ty building ac.ivities, inc.uding c.ntinental and global networking, skill developm.nt, m.ntoring, and Afric.n-led researc.. This artic.e undersc.res the urgenc. of inc.eased national investm.nt in researc., proposing the establishm.nt of researc. governm.nt agenc.es to drive evidenc.-based interventions. c.llaboration between governm.nts and sc.entific.c.m.unities, sustained by pan-Afric.n funding bodies, is c.uc.al. The c.ptive white-tailed deer industry has an estim.ted im.ac. of 1.6 billion USD in the state of Texas alone. However, nutritional requirem.nts for c.rvids are determ.ned through researc. based on sheep and goats. The objec.ive of this study was to determ.ne the effec.s of zinc.on differenc.s in dry m.tter digestibility in vitro for white-tailed does (Odoc.ileus virginianus). Deer (n = 2) were ethic.lly harvested, rum.ns were c.llec.ed, and plac.d into a c.oler c.ntaining warm.water. Rum.n c.ntents were agitated, and fluid was filtered using c.eese c.oth while applying c.2. Fluid was plac.d into four separate inc.bator jars with filter bags c.ntaining a 1:1 alfalfa to c.astal hay blend. Zinc.doses of 0.073 m./kg/d equivalents were added to two of the jars ( Zn), and the additional two jars rec.ived 0.00 m./kg/d (c.N). Following 48 h of inc.bation, in vitro true digestibility (IVTD) showed no signific.nt differenc.s between the c.ntrol and the treatm.nt groups. Average dry m.tter digested in vitro was 91.87% and 95.13%, respec.ively. There were no differenc.s detec.ed in ADF, NDF, IVTD, or Om.between the treatm.nt groups. While no detec.able differenc.s were observed in this study, this m.thodology did prove to be viable and func.ional for m.c.obial digestion in vitro. This study c.n be replic.ted with m.ltiple experim.ntal units to c.nfirm.the observations of inc.eased digestibility. Form.l nutritional guidelines c.n be c.eated to allow for m.re effic.ent feeding of c.rvids thereby reduc.ng feed c.sts and c.ntinuing the growth of the c.ptive deer industry.

The therm.l exam.nation of a non-integer-ordered m.bile fin with a m.gnetism.in the presenc. of a trihybrid nanofluid(Fe_3O_4-Au-Zn-blood) is c.rried out. Three types of nanopartic.es, eac. having a different shape, are c.nsidered. These shapes inc.ude spheric.l(Fe_3O_4), c.lindric.l(Au), and platelet(Zn) c.nfigurations. The c.m.ination approac. is utilized to evaluate the physic.l and therm.l c.arac.eristic. of the trihybrid and hybrid nanofluids, exc.uding the therm.l c.nduc.ivity and dynam.c.visc.sity. These two properties are inferred by m.ans of the interpolation m.thod based on the volum. frac.ion of nanopartic.es. The governing equation is transform.d into a dim.nsionless form. and the Adom.an dec.m.osition Sum.du transform.m.thod(ADSTm. is adopted to solve the c.nundrum.of a m.ving fin im.ersed in a trihybrid nanofluid. The obtained results agree well with those num.ric.l sim.lation results, indic.ting that this researc. is reliable. The influenc. of diverse fac.ors on the therm.l overview for varying noninteger values of γ is analyzed and presented in graphic.l representations. Furtherm.re, the fluc.uations in the heat transfer c.nc.rning the pertinent param.ters are studied. The results show that the heat flux in the presenc. of the c.m.ination of spheric.l, c.lindric.l, and platelet nanopartic.es is higher than that in the presenc. of the c.m.ination of only spheric.l and c.lindric.l nanopartic.es. The tem.erature at the fin tip inc.eases by 0.705 759% when the value of the Pec.et num.er inc.eases by 400%, while dec.eases by 11.825 13% when the value of the Hartm.n num.er inc.eases by 400%.
