Acute pancreatitis(AP)associated with intravenous administration of propofol has been described with unknown causal *** therefore assessed this causality in a systematic *** databases were searched on 16 August 2017;studies were appraised and selected by two reviewers based on a priori *** causality was evaluated with the Naranjo scale and Badalov *** identified 18 studies from 11 countries with a total of 21 patients,and the majority had adequate methodological *** median age was 35 years(range,4–77)and 10(48%)were ***,propofol was administrated in 8 patients as sedative along with induction/maintenance of anesthesia in 13 patients;median dose was 200 mg,with intermediate latency(1–30 days)in 14(67%).Serum triglycerides were>1000 mg/dL in four *** AP was observed in four patients(19%).AP recurrence occurred in one out of two patients who underwent *** related to AP was 3/21(14%).Propofol was the probable cause of AP according to the Naranjo scale in 19 patients(89%).Propofol-induced AP has a probable causal relation and evidence supports Badalov class *** is not the only mechanism by which propofol illicit ***-induced AP was severe in 19%of patients with a mortality rate related to AP of 14%.Future research is needed to delineate whether this risk is higher if combined with other procedures that portend inherent risk of pancreatitis such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.

To meet the rapidly increasing demand for energy and the dramatic depletion of conventional crude oil,it is imperative to utilize sour *** no coke being produced,oxidative desulfurization(ODS)of naphtha lowers its sulfur content and average molecular *** this article,we outline a method for heavy naphtha non-extractive ODS using a very stable *** technique involves the use of a solid catalyst with oxygen gas as the *** necessitated relatively high mixing intensities;hence a three-phase Oscillatory Baffled Reactor(OBR)was *** catalyst was based on the zeolite ZSm-5,prepared from natural kaolin by a series of delamination and activation steps and impregnated with Fe.A TiO2 nanolayer was applied,using the sol-gel method,to prevent rapid *** reactor performance was evaluated to minimize the sulfur content in the naphtha *** to the protective coating,the sulfur conversion stabilized at 90%.The results of this work establish the use of natural clay-based catalysts in a continuous,three-phase ODS,particularly with regard to proving long-term *** also showed that modest ODS can be achieved using an environmentally friendly oxidant,at mild operating conditions,whilst maintaining stability.

Ballistic design and testing of a composite armour reinforced by CNTs suitable for armoured vehicles

This paper is investigating the use of composite armour reinforced by nanomaterials, for the protection of light armoured(LAV) and medium armoured military vehicles(mAV), and the interaction between the composite materials and high-performance ballistic projectiles. Four armour materials, consisted of front hybrid fibre reinforced polymer cover layer, ceramic strike-face, fibre reinforced polymer intermediate layer and the metal matrix composite reinforced backplate, were manufactured and assembled by adhesive technology. The proposed laminated protection system is suitable for armoured ground vehicles;however, it could be used as armour on ground, air and naval platforms. The design of the protection system, including material selection and thickness, was elaborated depending on the performance requirements of Level 4 + STANAG 4569 military standard(projectile 14.5 mm × 114 mm API B32) and especially on a design philosophy which is analysed with the specifications. The backplate of this new composite is a hybrid material of metal matrix Composite(mmC) reinforced with carbon nanotubes(CNTs), manufactured with the use of powder metallurgy technique. The composite backplate material was morphologically, mechanically and chemically analysed. Results show that all plates are presenting high mechanical properties and ballistic characteristics, compared to commonly used armour plates. Real military ballistic tests according to AEP-STANAG 4569 were carried out for the total composite armour systems. After the ballistic tests, AA2024-CNT3 showed the best protection results, compared with the other plates(AA2024-CNT1 and AA2024-CNT2), with the projectile being unable to fully penetrate the composite plate.

Unveiling the Nexus the link between water quality index and phthalic acid ester concentrations in Tigris River

monitoring water quality in an aquatic system is a crucial objective in pursuing sustainable development,despite the challenges posed by water scarcity and the impact of climate *** objective of the present study was to examine the water quality of the Tigris River along its course from the point of entry into Baghdad city to its exit,particularly in the presence of Phthalic Acid Esters(PAEs).In both dry and wet seasons and from five sites of the river,nine environmental factors(Turbidity,Total dissolved solids,pH,dissolved oxygen,Chloride,nitrate,phosphate,sulfate,and Biological oxygen demand)and three PAEs(di-n-butyl phthalate(DBP),di-isononyl phthalate(DiNP),and di-2-ethyl hexyl phthalate(DEHP))were *** revealed that the river has high levels of turbidity and Total dissolved solids,slightly alkaline,and well-aerated(dissolved oxygen>7 mg/L).Chloride,nitrate,phosphate,and sulfate values varied between seasons,as high values were recorded in the wet *** oxygen demand levels were higher during the dry *** highest value of total PAEs(2.20μg/L)was observed during the dry season,and the lowest value was in the wet season(1.16μg/L).The HQ results revealed that the river was ranked as a moderate risk *** the water quality index and environmental risk index classified the water quality as a poor category,with a high-risk score in the study sites within Baghdad ***,despite the acceptable limit of PAEs in the river's water(m to withdraw attention to its environmental *** findings highlight the need for appropriate measures to control and remove pollutants to ensure a safe and healthy water supply in the Tigris River.

Condition monitoring of the insulating system within power transformers has a massive importance according to the electrical *** gas analysis(DGA)is frequently used for this ***,DGA lacks the necessary level of accuracy to identify all equipment faults,particularly in their initial stages of ***,it does not have the capability for real-time monitoring and relies on manual sampling and laboratory testing,causing potential delays in fault ***,the interpretation of DGA data necessitates specialised expertise,which may pose difficulties for smaller entities that have limited access to ***,the contribution of this research is to use infrared spectroscopy measurements as a new effective technique substituting the DGA method for fault diagnosis in insulating *** inception faults that were considered in this study were the electrical fault(discharges of high energy)and the thermal fault(300°Cmperaturemulation processes inside the laboratory for both types of inception ***,six samples of pure paraffinic mineral oil were taken to be degraded in the *** that,all of them besides another sample that were not subjected to any kind of faults were taken to be examined by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy to obtain an overview of the oil's behaviour in each fault *** that,the FTIR analysis was initially verified utilising the DGA ***,for further affirmation,the dielectric dissipation factor(DDF)for all samples was *** the final analysis,the verification tests provide experimental evidence about the outperformance of this new optical technique in detecting the transformer's inception faults in addition to proving its potential for being a superior alternative to the well-known traditional diagnostic techniques.

In this study,green zinc oxide(ZnO)/polypyrrole(Ppy)/cellulose acetate(CA)film has been synthesized via solvent *** film was used as supporting material for glucose oxidase(GOx)to sensitize a glucose *** nanoparticles have been prepared via the green route using olive leaves extract as a ***/Ppy nanocomposite has been synthesized by a simple in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization of pyrrole(Py)monomer using ferric chloride(FeCl3)as an oxidizing *** produced materials and the composite films were characterized using X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEm),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).Glucose oxidase was successfully immobilized on the surface of the prepared film and then ZnO/Ppy/CA/GOx composite was sputtered with platinum electrode for the current determination at different initial concentrations of *** measurements proved the suitability and the high sensitivity of the constructed biosensor for the detection of glucose levels in different *** performance of the prepared biosensor has been assessed by measuring and comparing glucose concentrations up to 800 *** results affirmed the reliability of the developed biosensor towards real samples which suggests the wide-scale application of the proposed biosensor.

Bandgap tuning using rare earth metals as dopants in ferrite-based photocatalytic materials has received a lot of interest because the Fermi 4f energy of these metals generates a sub-energy state in the bandgap generated by the overlapping of Fe-3d and O-2p ***,dysprosium-doped cobalt-nickel mixed ferrite(D-CNFO)and its graphene-reinforced composite(D-CNFO@G)were prepared and an ideal photocatalyst material for azo dye mineralization was proposed.A cost-effective combination of wetchemical and ultrasonication methods was used to prepare the doped and composite *** characterization methodologies were used to scrutinize the optical,compositional,structural,morphological,and photocatalytic characteristics of as-prepared *** X-ray diffraction analysis identified the spinel phase's(cubic)structure,while the electronic spectroscopy examination confirmed the prepared samples'rod-like *** UV/visible absorbance spectrum shows the higher light harvesting behavior of the D-CNFO@G in the visible *** mineralization performance of the DCNFO and D-CNFO@G composites was analyzed using Congo-red(an anionic dye),a well-known azo *** D-CNFO@G sample removes Congo-red dye at a rate almost 2.4%faster than the D-CNFO *** experiment involving trapping free radicals indicates that hydroxyl radical play s a crucial role in dye *** the D-CNFO@G catalyst is magnetic and can be isolated easily from the photocatalytic system,it shows an awkward cycle activity of more than 96%after five mineralization *** asprepared D-CNFO@G composite is proved as an excellent option for azo dye mineralization because of the combined impacts of rare earth doping,graphene reinforcement and nanotechnology.

The impact of chemotherapy-naïve open radical cystectomy delay and perioperative transfusion on the recurrence-free survival: A perioperative parameters-based nomogram

Objective: To develop and internally validate a nomogram to predict recurrence-free survival (RFS) including the time to radical cystectomy (RC) and perioperative blood transfusion (PBT) as potential ***: Patients who underwent open RC and ileal conduit between January 1996 to December 2016 were split into developing (n=948) and validating (n=237) cohorts. The time to radical cystectomy (TTC) was defined as the interval between the onset of symptoms and RC. The regression coefficients of the independent predictors obtained by Cox regression were used to construct the nomogram. Discrimination, validation, and clinical usefulness in the validation cohort were assessed by the area under the curve, the calibration plot, and decision curve ***: In the developing dataset, the 1-, 5-, and 10-year RFS were 83.0%, 47.2%, and 44.4%, respectively. On multivariate analysis, independent predictors were TTC (hazards ratio [HR] 1.07, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.05-1.08, pmore units: HR 1.72, 95% CI 1.29-2.29, pmous cell carcinoma (HR 0.60, 95% CI 0.45-0.81, p=0.001), pT3-T4 (HR 1.77, 95% CI 1.41-2.22, pmph node status (HR 1.53, 95% CI 1.21-1.95, pmphovascular invasion (HR 1.28, 95% CI 1.01-1.62, p=0.044). The areas under the curve in the validation dataset were 79.3%, 69.6%, and 76.2%, for 1-, 5-, and 10-year RFS, respectively. Calibration plots showed considerable correspondence between predicted and actual survival probabilities. The decision curve analysis revealed a better net benefit of the ***: A nomogram with good discrimination, validation, and clinical utility was constructed utilizing TTC and PBT in addition to standard pathological criteria.
