The 975 nm multimode diode lasers with high-order surface Bragg diffraction gratings have been simulated and calcu-lated using the 2D finite difference time domain(FDTD)algorithm and the scattering matrix method(SMM).The periods and etch depth of the grating parameters have been optimized.A board area laser diode(BA-ld)with high-order diffraction grat-ings has been designed and *** output powers up to 10.5 W,the measured spectral width of full width at half maxi-mum(FWHM)is less than 0.5 *** results demonstrate that the designed high-order surface gratings can effectively nar-row the spectral width of multimode semiconductor lasers at high output power.

Secondary epileptogenesis is characterized by increased epileptic susceptibility and a tendency to generate epileptiform activities outside the primary *** is one of the major resultants of pharmacoresistance and failure of surgical outcomes in epilepsy,but still lacks effective ***,we aimed to test the effects of low-frequency stimulation(LFS)at the subiculum for secondary epileptogenesis in a mouse ***,secondary epileptogenesis was simulated at regions both contralateral and ipsilateral to the primary focus by applying successive kindling *** kindled at the right CA3 showed higher seizure susceptibilities at both the contralateral CA3 and the ipsilateral entorhinal cortex and had accelerated kindling processes compared with naive *** at the ipsilateral subiculum during the primary kindling progress at the right CA3 effectively prevented secondary epileptogenesis at both the contralateral CA3 and the ipsilateral entorhinal cortex,characterized by decreased seizure susceptibilities and a retarded kindling process at those secondary *** application along with the primary epileptogenesis was ***,the effects of LFS on secondary epileptogenesis were associated with its inhibitory effect at the secondary focus through interfering with the enhancement of synaptic connections between the primary and secondary *** results imply that LFS at the subiculum is an effective preventive strategy for extensive secondary epileptogenesis in temporal lobe epilepsy and present the subiculum as a target with potential translational importance.

Stomach pain in Chinese medicine（CM） is a very common disorder in clinical practice and it has been listed as one of the pilot three conditions in Hong Kong to develop evidence-based CM clinical practice guidelines（CM CPGs）. The aim of this stomach Pain CPG is to summarize the treatment methods of stomach pain with CM and evaluate reasonably, then to guide local licensed CM practitioners and provide beneficial reference for social medical decision makers and patients. In this manuscript, we defined stomach pain in CM and the category of chronic gastritis in Western medicine. The clinical manifestation, CM pattern classification, and CM intervention including herbal medicine treatment based on pattern differentiation, symptomatic treatment, acupuncture treatment, regulation and nursing were illustrated.

Acute Toxicity of Jinchuan Formula Plum Wine Extract and Its Protective Effect on Mice with Liver Injury

[Objectives]To investigate the acute toxicity and hepatoprotective effect of Jinchuan formula plum wine extract on mice,determine its safety range,and evaluate its hepatoprotective effect.[Methods]The median lethal dose(ld_(50))was determined by acute toxicity test with the toxic reaction and mortality of mice as *** Kunming mice were randomly divided into 6 groups:normal control group,model group(ConA-induced liver injury model),Jinchuan formula plum wine high,medium and low dose groups(1.0,0.5,0.25 g/kg)and silybin group(0.1 g/kg).The levels of ALT,AST,ldH in serum and TG,VldL in liver were *** HE staining,the pathological changes of liver tissue in mice were observed,and the liver protective effect of Jinchuan formula plum wine extract was analyzed and evaluated.[Results]ld_(50)was 11.18 g/kg,and the 95%confidence limit of ld_(50)was 10.31-12.05 g/*** high-dose group of Jinchuan formula plum wine extract could significantly reduce the serum ALT and AST activities of ConA-induced liver injury mice(P<0.05).[Conclusions]Jinchuan formula plum wine extract is relatively safe,and also has a protective effect on liver injury.

Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) is one of the oldest systems of medicine. More and more attention has been paid to TCM application, but the variable quality of clinical trials with TCM impedes its widespread acceptance. The Standard Protocol Items: Recommendations for Interventional Trials(SPIRIT) 2013 Statement has established guidelines for designing clinical trials to ensure that the trial results are accurate and reliable. However, there are difficulties when applying SPIRIT 2013 Statement to trials with TCM, due to the unique theory and the characteristic of TCM intervention. An Extension to the original SPIRIT was developed to ensure the quality of trial design with TCM. As Chinese herbal formulae, acupuncture and moxibustion are common and representative interventions in TCM practice, the executive working group determined that the SPIRIT-TCM Extension focus on these three interventions. Extension was developed through initiation, 3 rounds of Delphi consensus survey, and finalizing expert meeting. Seven items from the SPIRIT 2013 Statement were modified, namely, "title", "background and rationale", "objectives", "eligibility criteria", "interventions", "outcomes", and "data collection methods". The Extension includes the introduction of the concept of TCM pattern and 3 major TCM interventions, with examples and explanations. The SPIRIT-TCM Extension 2018 provides suggestion for investigators in designing high quality TCM clinical trials. It is expected that wide dissemination and application of this extension ensure continuous improvement of TCM trial quality throughout the world.
