Wastewater surveillance(WWS)can leverage its wide coverage,population-based sampling,and high monitoring frequency to capture citywide pandemic trends independent of clinical *** we conducted a nine months daily WWS for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARScoV-2)from 12 wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs),covering approximately 80%of the population,to monitor infection dynamics in hong Kong,*** found that the SARS-coV-2 virus concentration in wastewater was correlated with the daily number of reported cases and reached two pandemic peaks three days earlier during the study *** addition,two different methods were established to estimate the prevalence/incidence rates from wastewater *** estimated results from wastewater were consistent with findings from two independent citywide clinical surveillance programmes(rapid antigen test(RAT)surveillance and serology surveillance),but higher than the cases number reported by the centre for health Protection(chP)of hong Kong,***,the effective reproductive number(R_(t))was estimated from wastewater measurements to reflect both citywide and regional transmission *** findings demonstrate that large-scale intensive WWS from WWTPs provides cost-effective and timely public.h.alth information,especially when the clinical surveillance is inadequate and *** approach also provides insights into pandemic dynamics at higher spatiotemporal resolutions,facilitating the formulation of effective control policies and targeted resource allocation.

In the present work,tilted global solar irradiance data are presented and analysed,measured for a period of 1 year on the campus of Bahrain Polytechnic,Kingdom of Bahrain,from both a fixed photovoltaic panel and a moving one via a two-axis solar *** fixed panel faces south with an angle of 26°with respect to the horizontal,coinciding with the local geographical *** second panel is moved by two motors,controlled by a global positioning system and suitable software so that the Sun’s rays are perpendicular to the panel surface.A pyranometer is installed on each panel,recording the tilted global solar irradiance,stored by using a data *** analysis of the data obtained shows a 33%solar energy gain on an annual basis for the moving panel(2780 versus 2088 kWh/m^(2) on the fixed panel).More importantly,in June,when the energy demand in Bahrain is elevated due to the increased residential cooling loads,the solar energy received by the moving panel is 54.7%higher compared with that of the fixed *** a percentage basis,the increase in solar energy from the moving panel is profound in the early morning and late evening ***,the reduction in the solar energy received by the fixed panel from May to June does not appear in the moving panel because of the adjustable orientation of the *** the year,the mean daily solar power varies between 0.37 and 0.56 kW/m^(2) for the fixed panel,and 0.45 and 0.70 kW/m^(2) for the moving *** winter,solar energy fluctuations are elevated due to erratic weather conditions that present a peak standard deviation of 28%of the corresponding *** data presented are useful for potential solar investments in Gulf countries.

highly pure red phosphors LiM(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)(M=Sr,ca) doped with Eu^(3+)(1 mol%) were synthesized via solution combustion method and their crystal structure and luminescence dynamics were studied to explore its suitability in white light emitting *** Rietveld refinement analysis of the powder Xray diffraction patterns reveals that the phosphors belong to the pure triclinic phase of LiSr(PO_(3))_(3) and Lica(PO_(3)) with space group P-1(2).The scanning electron microscopy images showed the agglomerated *** photoluminescence emission spectra under 393 nm show an orange band at 594 nm and a red band at 613 nm ascribed to ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(1).^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(2) transitions of Eu^(3+)ion in both the ***,the spectroscopic properties such as luminescence behaviour,and Stark splitting were used to examine the symmetry of Eu^(3+)ions in LiM(PO_(3))_(3):Es^(3+)(M=Sr,ca) phosphors in terms of distortion induced upon *** Stark splitting shows that the actual site symmetry for Eu^(3+)ion was estimated to be D_(2) type for both *** photometric properties of Lica(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)such as commission International de l'Eclairage coordinates(x=0.64,y=0.36) near to the standard one(red),high color purity(95%) and higher brightness reveal that the phosphor has the capability of acting as a red component in n-UV white light emitting diodes.

The mechanical response of a single crystal titanium sample against(0001)α surface impact was investigated using molecular dynamics ***,non-uniform plastic deformation was observed in the *** high strain rates,amorphization occurred near the edge of the contact region where severe shear strain induced a large number of stacking faults(SFs)and *** contrast,the central part of the contact region underwent less deformation with significantly fewer ***,instead of amorphization by consuming SFs and dislocations,there was a gradual increase in the density of dislocations and SFs during the process of *** local amorphous regions eventually grew into shear bands.

Groundwater vulnerability assessment is a crucial step in the efficient management of groundwater resources,especially in areas with intensive anthropogenic activities and groundwater *** the present study,the DRASTIc method was applied using Geographic Information System(GIS)to delineate groundwater vulnerability zones in the Erbil Dumpsite area,central Erbil Basin,North *** showed that the area was classified into four vulnerability classes:Very low(16.97%),low(27.67%),moderate(36.55%)and high(18.81%).The southern,south-eastern and northern parts of the study area exhibited the highest vulnerability potential,while the central-northern,northern and north-western regions displayed the lowest vulnerability ***,results of the single-parameter sensitivity analysis indicated that amongst the seven DRASTIc parameters,the unsaturated zone and the aquifer media were the most influencing *** conclustion,the correlation of 25 nitrate concentration values with the final vulnerability map,assessed using the Pearson correlation coefficient,yielded a satisfactory result of R=0.72.
