Application of chitosan-based nanoparticles in skin wound healing

The rising prevalence of impaired wound healing and the consequential healthcare burdens have gained increased attention over recent *** has prompted research into the development of novel wound dressings with augmented wound healing ***(NP)-based delivery systems have become attractive candidates in constructing such wound dressings due to their various favourable *** non-toxicity,biocompatibility and bioactivity of chitosan(CS)-based NPs make them ideal candidates for wound *** review focusses on the application of CS-based NP systems for use in wound *** overview of the wound healing process was presented,followed by discussion on the properties and suitability of CS and its NPs in wound *** wound healing mechanisms exerted by CS-based NPs were then critically analysed and discussed in sections,namely haemostasis,infection prevention,inflammatory response,oxidative stress,angiogenesis,collagen deposition,and wound closure *** results of the studieswere thoroughly reviewed,and contradicting findings were identified and *** on the literature,the gap in research and future prospects in this research area were identified and *** evidence shows that CS-based NPs possess superior wound healing effects either used on their own,or as drug delivery vehicles to encapsulate wound healing *** is concluded that great opportunities and potentials exist surrounding the use of CSNPs in wound healing.

Tropical peat comprises decomposed dead plant material and acts like a sponge to absorb water,making it fully ***,drought periods dry it readily and increases its vulnerability to *** fires emit greenhouse gases and particles contributing to haze,and prevention by constructing fire-break canals to reduce fire spread into forest reserves is *** paper aims to determine peat physical and chemical properties near a fire-break canal at different fire frequency *** sampling was conducted at two forest reserves in Malaysia which represent low fire frequency and high fire frequency *** results show that peat properties were not affected by the construction of a fire-break canal,however lignin and cellulose content increased significantly from the distance of the canal in both *** study concluded that fire frequency did not significantly influence peat properties except for *** higher fibre content in the high frequency area did not influence moisture content nor the ability to regain ***,fire frequency might contribute differently to changes in physical and chemical properties,hence management efforts to construct fire-break canals and restoration efforts should protect peatlands from further *** findings will benefit future management and planning for forest reserves.

Osteosarcoma is a malignant tumor originating from bone tissue that progresses rapidly and has a poor patient *** has shown great potential in the treatment of ***,the immunosuppressive microenvironment severely limits the efficacy of osteosarcoma *** dual pH-sensitive nanocarrier has emerged as an effective antitumor drug delivery system that can selectively release drugs into the acidic tumor ***,we prepared a dual pH-sensitive nanocarrier,loaded with the photosensitizer Chlorin e6(Ce6)and CD47 monoclonal antibodies(aCD47),to deliver synergistic photodynamic and immunotherapy of *** laser irradiation,Ce6 can generate reactive oxygen species(ROS)to kill cancer cells directly and induces immunogenic tumor cell death(ICD),which further facilitates the dendritic cell maturation induced by blockade of CD47 by ***,both calreticulin released during ICD and CD47 blockade can accelerate phagocytosis of tumor cells by macrophages,promote antigen presentation,and eventually induce T lymphocyte-mediated antitumor ***,the dual pH-sensitive nanodrug loaded with Ce6 and aCD47 showed excellent immune-activating and anti-tumor effects in osteosarcoma,which may lay the theoretical foundation for a novel combination model of osteosarcoma treatment.

Aluminum is the primary structural material in nuclear engineering,and its cross section induced by 14-MeV neutrons is of great *** address the issue of insufficient accuracy for the^(27)Al(n,2n)^(26)Al reaction cross section,the activation method and accelerator mass spectrometry(AMS)technique were used to determine the^(27)Al(n,2n)^(26)Al cross section,which could be used as a D-T plasma ion temperature monitor in fusion *** the China Academy of Engineering Physics,neutron activation was performed using a K-400 neutron generator produced by the T(d,n)4He ***^(26)Al∕^(27)Al isotope ratios were measured using the newly installed GYIG 1 MV AMS at the Institute of Geochemistry,Chinese Academy of *** neutron flux was monitored by measuring the activity of 92mNb produced by the 93Nb(n,2n)92mNb *** measured results were compared with available data in the experimental nuclear reaction database,and the measured values showed a reasonable degree of consistency with partially available literature *** newly acquired cross-sectional data at 12 neutron energy points through systematic measurements clarified the divergence,which has two different growth trends from the existing experimental *** obtained results are also compared with the corresponding evaluated database,and the newly calculated excitation functions with TALYS−1.95 and EMPIRE−3.2 codes,the agreement with CENDL−3.2,TENDL-2021 and EMPIRE−3.2 results are generally acceptable.A substantial improvement in the knowledge of the^(27)Al(n,2n)^(26)Al reaction excitation function was obtained in the present work,which will lay the foundation for the diagnosis of the fusion ion temperature,testing of the nuclear physics model,evaluation of nuclear data,etc.

“生活世界”最初是胡塞尔晚期现象学中的重要概念,舒茨对其进行了社会学改造,哈贝马斯将其理解为“生活世界—系统”两层面结构社会的其中一个层面,从而完成了这一概念的社会学转向。这一转向可以从内容和形式两个方面进行阐释。从内容上看,生活世界虽然最初是作为一个重要的哲学概念出现在胡塞尔晚期的超越论现象学之中,但有关它的阐释却蕴含着丰富的社会学内容;舒茨为了使韦伯的意义理论在哲学上得到奠基,对胡塞尔的生活世界概念进行了社会学的改造,生活世界为构成社会元素的行动提供意义,而行动也同样赋予生活世界以意义;哈贝马斯则从语用学的立场对生活世界进行了再改造,使之成为其社会批判理论的奠基概念。从形式来看,胡塞尔所理解的生活世界概念既包含了主观世界也涵盖了客观世界,是对近代主、客二分思维方式的否定;舒茨进一步从社会学的立场强调了客观世界或社会世界的意义基础和文化内涵,他关于生活世界的理解蕴含着主观世界与客观世界的统一;哈贝马斯则从言语行为与世界的关系入手,把生活世界理解为客观世界、社会世界和主观世界的统一,揭示了作为交往行动背景的生活世界所具有的批判力量,为他的社会批判理论奠定了牢固的基础。

Therapeutic effects of Lingguizhugan decoction in a rat model of high-fat diet-induced insulin resistance

BACKGROUND Lingguizhugan(LGZG)decoction is a widely used classic Chinese medicine formula that was recently shown to improve high-fat diet(HFD)-induced insulin resistance(IR)in animal *** To assess the therapeutic effect of LGZG decoction on HFD-induced IR and explore the potential underlying *** To establish an IR rat model,a 12-wk HFD was administered,followed by a 4-wk treatment with *** determination of IR status was achieved through the use of biochemical tests and oral glucose tolerance *** a targeted metabolomics platform to analyze changes in serum metabolites,quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)was used to assess the gene expression of the ribosomal protein S6 kinase beta 1(S6K1).RESULTS In IR rats,LGZG decreased body weight and indices of hepatic *** effectively controlled blood glucose and food intake while protecting islet *** analysis revealed significant differences between the HFD and HFDLGZG *** intervention reduced branched-chain amino acid *** of IR-related metabolites such as tryptophan,alanine,taurine,and asparagine decreased *** may be linked to amino acids due to the contemporaneous increase in S6K1 expression,as shown by *** Our study strongly suggests that LGZG decoction reduces HFD-induced *** may activate S6K1 via metabolic *** findings lay the groundwork for the potential of LGZG as an IR treatment.

Rapid advancements in forensic DNA technology has resulted in its increasing use to resolve crime cases, particularly in the detection of low-level DNA traces. This has been made possible by the increasing sensitivity of STR typing kits. Low-template DNA analysis requires careful consideration of the derived stochastic variations that lead to heterozygote imbalance, allele drop-out and increased detection of background contamination. The relevance of the evidence and the probative value of the DNA profile are important issues in the evaluation of forensic evidence.
