Background: LncRNA AK044604(regulator of insulin sensitivity and autophagy, Risa) and autophagy-related factors sirt1 and GSK3β play important roles in diabetic nephropathy(DN). In this study, we sought to explore the effect of Risa on sirt1/GSK3β-induced podocyte injury.Methods: Diabetic db/db mice received Risa-inhibition adeno-associated virus(AAV) via tail vein injection, and intraperitoneal injection of lithium chloride(LiCl). Blood, urine, and kidney tissue samples were collected and analyzed at different time points. Immortalized mouse podocyte cells(MPCs) were cultured and treated with Risa-inhibition lentivirus(LV), EX-527, and LiCl. MPCs were collected under different stimulations as noted. The effects of Risa on podocyte autophagy were examined by qRT-PCR, Western blotting analysis, transmission electron microscopy,Periodic Acid-Schiff staining, and immunofluorescence staining.Results: Risa and activated GSK3β were overexpressed, but sirt1 was downregulated in DN mice and high glucosetreated MPCs(Psis. Risa overexpression attenuated sirt1-mediated downstream autophagy levels and aggravated podocyte injury by inhibiting the expression of sirt1(Psion enhanced sirt1-induced autophagy and attenuated podocyte injury, which could be abrogated by EX-527(Psion aggravated podocyte injury by decreasing autophagy.Conclusions: Risa could inhibit autophagy by regulating the sirt1/GSK3β axis, thereby aggravating podocyte injury in DN. Risa may serve as a therapeutic target for the treatment of DN.

Typically,rational interfacial engineering can effectively modify the adsorption energy of active hydrogen molecules to improve water splitting efficiency.NiFe layered double hydroxide(NiFe LDH)composite,an efficient oxygen evolution reaction(OER)catalyst,suffers from slow hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)kinetics,restricting its application for overall water splitting.Herein,we construct the hierarchical MoS_(2)/NiFe LDH nanosheets with a heterogeneous interface used for HER and OER.Benefiting the hierarchical heterogeneous interface optimized hydrogen Gibbs free energy,tens of exposed active sites,rapid mass-and charge-transfer processes,the MoS_(2)/NiFe LDH displays a highly efficient synergistic electrocatalytic effect.The MoS_(2)/NiFe LDH electrode in 1 mol/L KOH exhibits excellent HER activity,only 98 mV overpotential at 10 mA/cm^(2).significantly,when it assembled as anode and cathode for overall water splitting,only 1.61 V cell voltage was required to achieve 10 mA/cm^(2)with excellent durability(50 h).

A new ligand,2-(2-methoxynaphthyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline(mnipH),was synthesized by the condensation of 2-methoxy-1-naphthaldehyde and 5,6-diamino-1,10-phenanthroline.Then three ionic copper(I)complexes were obtained through the reactions of[Cu(MeCN)4]ClO4,mnipH and the chelating diphosphine ligands with a molar ratio of 1:1:1.The photoluminescence and the corresponding luminescent mechanism of all copper(I)complexes in the solid state were investigated at room temperature.

Phased small interfering RNAs(phasiRNAs) are abundantly expressed in anthers and linked to environment-related male fertility in grasses, yet how they function under different environmental conditions remains unclear. Here, we identified a rice(Oryza sativa) low temperature-induced Argonaute(AGO) protein, OsAGO1d, that is responsible for generating phasiRNAs and preserving male fertility at low temperature. Loss of OsAGO1d function causes low-temperature male sterility associated with delayed programmed cell death of tapetal cells during anther development. OsAGO1d binds miR2118 and miR2275 family members and triggers phasiRNA biogenesis;it also binds 21-nt phasiRNAs with a 5′ terminal U. In total, phasiRNAs from 972loci are OsAGO1d-dependent. OsAGO1d protein moves from anther wall cells into meiocytes, where it loads miR2275 to produce 24-nt phasiRNAs. Together, our results show that OsAGO1d acts as a mobile signal to fine-tune phasiRNA production and this function is important for male fertility at low temperature.

Objective To throw a light on the possible factors which might induce resistance of vascular targeting treatment in tumors by reviewing the recent publications in the field of tumor angiogenesis and vascular targeting treatment. Data sources The data used in this review were mainly from Medline and PubMed for relevant English language articles published from 1971 to January 2008. The search terms were ＂angiogenesis＂, ＂ascular targeting treatment＂ and ＂endothelial progenitor cells＂. Study selection Articles involved in the possible influence factors during angiogenesis and vascular targeting treatment were selected, including angiogenic or anti-angiogenic mechanism, tumor vasculature, tumor cells, cancer stem cells and endothelial progenitor cells. Results As a promising strategy vascular targeting treatment still has experimental and clinical setbacks which may term tumor vasculature＇s resistance to anti-angiogenesis agents. There are several possible explanations for such a resistance that might account for clinical and preclinical failures of anti-angiogenic treatment against tumor. Proangiogenic effect of hypoxia, normal tumor vasculature, escape of tumor cells and tumor vasculogenesis are included. This review reveals some clues which might be helpful to direct future research in order to remove obstacles to vascular targeting treatment. Conclusions Generally and undoubtedly vascular targeting treatment remains a promising strategy. But we still have to realize the existence of a challenging future. Further research is required to enhance our knowledge of vascular targeting treatment strategy before it could make a more substantial success.

Two-electron reduction of[N_(2)NBn]Ti^(Ⅳ)Cl2(3)gave a highly reactive[N_(2)N]Ti^(Ⅱ)species,which underwent C—O bond activation of THF(tetrahydrofuran)to generate[N2NBn]Ti^(Ⅳ)[O(CH2)4](4)through oxidative addition.The resulted Ti^(Ⅳ)-Csp^(3)bond in oxametallacyclo-hexane was tantamount to the elaborately-designed Ti-alkyl complexes,competent to activate intramolecular Csp^(2)-H bond,forming ortho-cyclometalated complex[N_(2)NCH_(2)C_(6)H_(4)]Ti^(Ⅳ)(O^(n)Bu)(5).Key intermediates were isolated and fully characterized by X-ray crystal-lography.Mechanistic studies revealed that the oxidative addition of C-O bond took place at Ti^(Ⅱ)-center via a radical intermediate,while a Csp^(2)-H bond activation proceeded byσ-bond metathesis with a kitelike four-centered Ti^(Ⅳ)-transition state.

Symptom Assessment and Management in Patients with Lung Cancer Undergoing Conventional or Traditional Chinese Medicine Care

Patients with lung cancer may experience various symptoms as the disease progresses,which may reduce the benefits of cancer treatment,reduce treatment compliance,delay cancer treatment,reduce the quality of life(QoL),and impact survival.This review discusses comprehensive symptom assessment and management,which are crucial for high-quality lung cancer treatment.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is important in relieving cancer-related symptoms in patients with lung cancer.Including patient-reported outcomes(PROs)in clinical trials and practice can provide a better assessment of symptom burden and the effectiveness of symptom management.Patient-centered care with TCM in lung cancer patients may include six steps:Symptom screening,etiology investigation,comprehensive assessment,integrative management,reassessment,and regular symptom follow-up monitoring.PRO measures can be used to evaluate symptom intensity,the degree to which symptoms interfere with activities of daily living,and the QoL.Clearly defined and reliable PRO measures can enhance patient satisfaction and improve symptom control.Quantitative PRO measures developed from the TCM perspective should be considered one of the important outcome measurements in TCM care.A multidisciplinary collaborative symptom management model,including TCM and conventional therapy,will be the future goal for treating patients with lung cancer.

An unstable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)and chaotic lithium ion fux are key impediments to commercial high-energy-density lithium batteries because of the uncontrolled growth of rigid lithium dendrites,which would pierce through the conventional polypropylene(PP)separator,causing short circuit and safety issues.Herein,the homogenization of lithium ion fux and the generation of stable SEI layers on lithium anodes were achieved via coating a fuorine-functionalized Ti_(3)C_(2)(F-Ti_(3)C_(2))nanosheets on PP separator(F-Ti_(3)C_(2)@PP).F-Ti_(3)C_(2)nanosheets provide abundant ions pathways to homogeneously manipulate lithium ion fux and increase the Young’s modulus and electrolyte wettability of the separators.In addition,F species derived from the F-Ti_(3)C_(2)nanosheets would promote the formation of Li F-rich SEI film.The synergistic effect contribute to the uniform lithium deposition.Symmetric Li|Li,asymmetric Li|Cu and full Li|Li Fe PO4cells incorporated with the modified separators exhibit improved electrochemical performance even under lean electrolyte conditions.This work provides a feasible strategy to improve the performance of lithium batteries through both fuoridized SEI formation and lithium ion fux manipulation.

The destruction of a regular black hole event horizon might provide us the possibility to access regions inside black hole event horizon.This paper investigates the possibility of overcharging a charged Taub-NUT regular black hole via the scattering of a charged field and the absorption of a charged particle.For the charged scalar field scattering,both the near-extremal and extremal charged Taub-NUT regular black holes cannot be overcharged.For the test charged particle absorption,the result shows that the event horizon of the extremal charged Taub-NUT regular black hole still exists while the event horizon of the near-extremal one can be destroyed.However,if the charge and energy cross the event horizon in a continuous path,the near-extremal charged Taub-NUT regular black hole might not be overcharged.
