This paper deals with the robust fault detection (FD) problem in low frequency domain for linear time-delay systems. The H∞ norm and H_ index are used to measure the robustness to unknown inputs and the sensitivity to faults,respectively. The main results include derivation of a sufficient condition for the existence of a robust FD observer and its construction based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) solution parameters. Finally, numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the presented methodology.

A micro-level analysis on man-land system is important in understanding the content of human geography in rural areas, particularly in the different regions. This paper is based on a survey undertaken in the three villages of Wugou Village, Hutuo Village, and xiaonan Village of Gongyi City, ltenan Province in April 2003. The survey covers three types of economic and social activities from 214 households. Data collected include 120 attributes for each household. By using theories from the relevant disciplines such as geography, mathcmatics, physics, ecology, and system sciences, this paper develops a framework employing the concept of system entropy in the status function of the man-land system. In this framework, the entropy change is used to show the evolution of the system, and the entropy flow to express the flow among the spatial parts of the system. Following the framework, and using a large set of household data from surveys, the paper makes a quantitative analysis of the village-level man-land system from a micro-perspective. After a theoretical investigation, the corresponding strategies in the paper are then put forward in order to adjust the unbalanced trend of the village man-land system from both perspectives of small-area and individual actors.

Background Type I gonadotropin-releasing hormone （GnRH-l） agonists have been applied for the treatment of steroid-dependent tumors such as breast carcinoma, ovarian cancer and prostatic carcinoma. But the mechanism has not been clarified yet. There are few reports about the treatment of endometrial carcinoma using GnRH-l agonists. Type II GnRH （GnRH-ll） is a new subtype of GnRH. Our aim was to investigate the effects of GnRH-l agonists and GnRH-ll on estrogen receptor-negative human endometrial carcinoma cells and the effect from phosphatase and tensin homolog gene （PTEN） to *** A lentiviral vector-mediated RNAi method was used to establish a PTEN-negative HEC-1A cell clone （HEC-1A-ND）. MTT and flow cytometry were used to detect the cell proliferation, cell cycle and apoptosis of HEC-1A, HEC-1A-NC and HEC-1A-ND cells after treatment with GnRH-l agonist Triptorelin （10-11 mol/L to 10-5 mol/L） or GnRH-ll （10-11 mol/L to 10-5 mol/L）. Western blotting was used to detect AKT and ERK1/2 activation after treatment with different concentrations of Triptorelin or GnRH-ll for 30 minutes in the above mentioned three kinds of cells. Results Triptorelin and GnRH-ll induced apoptosis and inhibited proliferation of HEC-1 A, HEC-1A-ND and HEC-1A-NC in a dose-dependent manner. This effect was augmented in HEC-1 A-ND cells in which PTEN gene was knocked-down. Furthermore, Triptorelin and GnRH-ll inhibited the AKT and ERK activity in HEC-1 A-ND *** Triptorelin and GnRH-ll can promote apoptosis rate and inhibit cell proliferation of estrogen receptor-negative endometrial carcinoma cells in a dose-dependent manner. PTEN gene can inhibit the effects of Triptorelin or GnRH-ll on human endometrial carcinoma cells.

AIM： To examine the effects of vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）-targeted small interfering RNA （siRNA） on proliferation of gastric cancer cellsin vitro.METHODS： Several siRNAs were transfected into human gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 with lipofectamine 2000. Cells not transfected with lipofectamineTM 2000 or scrambled （SCR） siRNA served as controls. The inhibitory effect of siRNA on the expression of VEGF mRNA and protein was detected by RT-PCR and EliSA. MTT assay was used to examine the inhibition rate of cell *** change in cell cycling of siRNA-treated cells was detected by flow cytometry.RESULTS： siRNA targeting human VEGF effectively inhibited the proliferation of gastric cancer cell lineSGC-7901 and the distribution of cell cycle. The percentage of G0/G1 phase was significantly higher in siRNA1- and siRNA2-transfected cells than in control *** expression of VEGF mRNA was significantly inhibited in siRNA1- and siRNA2-transfected cells compared with that in control cells. VEGF protein notably decreased in siRNA-transfected cells, but had no effect on SCR siRNA.CONCLUSION： VEGF siRNA inhibits proliferation of gastric cancer cells in vitro.

Background Pediatric patients are susceptible to lung *** lung injury （Ali） in children often results in a high *** liquid ventilation （PLV） has been shown to markedly improve oxygenation and reduce histologic evidence of injury in a number of lung injury *** study aimed to examine the hypothesis that PLV would attenuate the production of local and systemic cytokines in an immature piglet model of Ali induced by oleic acid （OA）.Methods Twelve Chinese immature piglets were induced to develop Ali by oleic *** animals were randomly assigned to two groups （n=6）：（1） conventional mechanical ventilation （MV） group and （2） PLV with FC-77 （10 ml/kg） *** Compared with MV group, PLV group got better cardiopulmonary variables （P 〈0.05）.These variables included heart rate, mean blood pressure, blood pH, partial pressure of arterial oxygen （PaO2）, PaO2/FiO2 and partial pressure of arterial carbon dioxide （PaCO2）.Partial liquid ventilation reduced IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10 and TN F-α both in plasma and tissue concentrations compared with MV group （P 〈0.05）.Conclusions Partial liquid ventilation provides protective effects against inflammatory responses in the lungs of oleic acid-induced immature piglets.

AIM:To investigate the role of Ras association domain family protein 1 isoform A (RASSF1A) in gastric tumorigenesis. METHODS:Through over-expression of RASSF1A gene in the SGC7901 cell line which was induced by a lipofectamine-mediated gene transfer approach. Activator protein-1 (AP-1) DNA binding activity was measured by electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA). RESULTS:Compared with the control clones, cells over- expressing RASSF1A exhibited significant inhibition of cell growth with G1 cell cycle arrest in vitro and in vivo. The over-expression of RASSF1A significantly inhibited AP-1 activity in SGC7901 cells (0.981±0.011 vs 0.354±0.053, Pliferation.
