xiao-Xu-Ming decoction extract regulates differentially expressed proteins in the hippocampus after chronic cerebral hypoperfusion

xiao-Xu-Ming decoction has been widely used to treat stroke and sequelae of stroke. We have previously shown that the active fractions of xiao-Xu-Ming decoction attenuate cerebral ischemic injury. However, the global protein profile and signaling conduction pathways regulated by xiao-Xu-Ming decoction are still unclear. This study established a two-vessel occlusion rat model by bilateral common carotid artery occlusion. Rats were intragastrically administered 50 or 1.0 mg/kg xiao-Xu-Ming decoction for 4 consecutive weeks. Learning and memory abilities were measured with Morris water maze. Motor ability was detected with prehensile test. Coordination ability was examined using the inclined screen test. Neuronal plasticity was observed by immunofluorescent staining. Differentially expressed proteins of rat hippocampus were analyzed by label-free quantitative proteomics. Real time-polymerase chain reaction and western blot assay were used to identify the changes in proteins. Results showed that xiao-Xu-Ming decoction dramatically alleviated learning and memory deficits, and motor and coordination dysfunction, and increased the expression of microtubule-associated protein 2. xiao-Xu-Ming decoction extract remarkably decreased 1. upregulated proteins and increased 39 downregulated proteins. The regulated proteins were mainly involved in oxidation reduction process, intracellular signaling cascade process, and protein catabolic process. The signaling pathways were mainly involved in ubiquitin mediated proteolysis and the phosphatidylinositol signaling system. Furthermore, there was an interaction among Rab2 a, Ptpn1. Ppm1.e, Cdk1., Gorasp2, Eps1., Capza2, Syngap1.and Mt-nd1. Protein analyses confirmed the changes in expression of MTND1. The current findings provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of xiao-Xu-Ming decoction extract's effects on chronic cerebral hypoperfusion.

Influence of deep defects on electrical properties of Ni/4H-SiC Schottky diode

In this paper, we investigate the influence of deep level defects on the electrical properties of Ni/4H-SiC Schottky diodes by analyzing device current-voltage(I-V) characteristics and deep-level transient spectra(DLTS). Two Schottky barrier heights(SBHs) with different temperature dependences are found in Ni/4 H-SiC Schottky diode above room temperature. DLTS measurements further reveal that two kinds of defects Z_(1.2) and Ti(c)~a are located near the interface between Ni and SiC with the energy levels of E_C-0.67 eV and E_C-0.1. eV respectively. The latter one as the ionized titanium acceptor residing at cubic Si lattice site is thought to be responsible for the low SBH in the localized region of the diode, and therefore inducing the high reverse leakage current of the diode. The experimental results indicate that the Ti(c)~a defect has a strong influence on the electrical and thermal properties of the 4 H-SiC Schottky diode.

In most fish,reproduction is seasonal or periodic under the suitable *** turbot(Scophthalmus maximus)farms,one of the most economically important marine flatfish species,changes in daylength could cause changes in the spawning *** this study,to characterize the regulation of reproductive physiology following light signals,three melatonin receptors(Mtnr)investigated in turbot were named sm Mtnr1.sm Mtnr2,and sm Mtnr1.*** expression profiles demonstrated that Mtnr m RNAs were concentrated in the brain(as detected in the hypothalamus(Hy)and mesencephalon(Me)),gonad and *** most abundant Mtnr1.and Mtnr2 m RNA expression levels were detected in the central nervous system at the beginning of the breeding season,suggesting that Mtnr1.and Mtnr2 may play vital roles in the regulation of turbot gonadal *** addition,the melatonin profiles gradually increased and reached to the highest level at the spawning stage,indicating that melatonin is a potent hormone in the regulation of fish oocyte growth and *** results of this study suggested that melatonin is the primary factor that transduces the light signal and regulates the physiological functions of turbot seasonal ***,the results of this study may establish a foundation for further research seeking to identify fish melatonin receptors involved in the gonadal development and gamete maturation.

Features of the new climate normal 1.91.2020 and possible influences on climate monitoring and prediction in china

An update on the climate norms each decade is recommended by the World Meteorological Organization(WMO)partly to keep pace with conditions as climate changes over *** accordance with such update,this study documents the features of the new climate normal defined for 1.91.2020 and its impacts on climate monitoring and prediction in *** on-site observation and model prediction datasets,our analysis reveals that the new normal of national average precipitation of china during winter and summer is respectively 3.0 and 1..8 mm higher than that of the period *** a result,precipitation observations during 1.61.2020 consistently fall below the new *** adjustment of thresholds for precipitation extremes with new climate normals results in a decrease of extreme precipitation occurrence by 0.2-0.8 d on average over the winter and summer seasons during ***,the application of new climate normals induces more pronounced negative temperature anomalies across most areas of *** adjustments of extreme temperature thresholds have led to an increased occurrence of extremely cold days by 1.2 d on average over 1.61.2020,while the frequency of extremely hot days decreases by more than 1.4 ***,it is implied that with the development of global warming,the baselines for temperature and precipitation are *** application of the new climate normal may result in the omission of relative threshold based extreme events,promoting increased focus on climate risk reduction ***,the average anomaly sign consistency rates(Pcs)of precipitation and temperature anomaly predictions,relative to the new normal and produced by the Beijing Climate Center,are consistently lower than those relative to the old *** decrease in Pcs implies new challenges for climate prediction,especially for temperature prediction.

Dissolved oxygen(DO)is one of most important factors which affect wide range physiologic features of including immune responses and intestinal bacterial ***,the underlying mechanisms remain *** address this question,the intestinal bacterial community compositions and the immune features of Atlantic salmon(Salmo salar)grown in recirculating aquaculture systems(RAS)were *** were reared under different DO saturation levels,e.g.,200% saturation named high group(H),1.0%saturation named control group(CK),and 60%saturation named lower group(L).Large variations in the operational taxonomic units(OTUs)frequency distribution for the intestinal bacterial community of Atlantic salmon were *** intestinal bacterial community of all groups was dominated mainly by three phyla,e.g.,***,and ***,Acinetobacter baumannii,an opportunistic pathogen of salmon was increased significantly in L *** further monitored the immunity features of fish under different DO *** results show that leucocyte number,cortisol level,the expressions of interleukin-1.(IL-1.),Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4),and nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain like protein 2(NOD2)were higher at significant levels in the L group than those in the other two ***4 and NOD2 are usually related with the bacterial infections;therefore,it is reasonable to believe that the stronger immune responses observed in the L group might be related with the higher abundance of *** in the inte stine of Atlantic ***,these findings demonstrated that low DO level may induce stronger immunity responses in Atlantic salmon.

Spatial channel pairing based coherent combining for relay networks

In this paper, spatial channel pairing(SCP) is introduced to coherent combining at the relay in relay networks. Closed-form solution to optimal coherent combining is derived. Given coherent combining, the approximate SCP solution is presented. Finally, an alternating iterative structure is developed. Simulation results and analysis show that, given the symbol error rate and data rate, the proposed alternating iterative structure achieves signal-to-noise ratio gains over existing schemes in maximum ratio combining(MRC) plus matched filter,MRC plus antenna selection, and distributed space-time block coding due to the use of SCP and iterative structure.

A novel approach was successfully developed to fabricate bulk carbon nanotube-reinforced Mg matrix com-posites with uniform carbon nanotubes(CNTs).The approach consists of pre-dispersion and ultrasonic ***-neous and single CNTs on flake Zn powder can be achieved simply by slurry *** pre-dispersed CNTs were added to Mg melt,and then,the melt was ultrasonically *** ultrasonic vibration,the CNTs/Mg-6Zn melt was cast into a metal *** CNTs distribute homoge-neously and singly in the bulk ***,good interfacial bonding is achieved,and Raman spectroscopy analysis shows that the damage to CNTs is ***,CNTs evidently improve the ultimate tensile strength,yield strength and *** Kelly-Tyson formula agrees well with the experimental tensile value,and the load-transfer efficiency is nearly equal to 1.
