Chronic pain often develops severe mood changes such as ***,how chronic pain leads to depression remains elusive and the mechanisms determining individuals’responses to depression are largely *** we found that depression-like behaviors could only be observed in 67.9%of mice with chronic neuropathic pain,leaving 32.1%of mice with depression *** determined that the spike discharges of the ventral tegmental area(VTA)-projecting lateral habenula(LHb)glutamatergic(Glu)neurons were sequentially increased in sham,resilient and susceptible mice,which consequently inhibited VTA dopaminergic(DA)neurons through a LHbGlu-VTAGABA-VTADA ***,the LHbGlu-VTADA excitatory inputs were dampened via GABAB receptors in a pre-synaptic *** of LHb-VTA pathway largely affected the development of depressive symptoms caused by chronic *** study thus identifies a pivotal role of the LHb-VTA pathway in coupling chronic pain with depression and highlights the activity-dependent contribution of LHbGlu-to-VTADA inhibition in depressive behavioral regulation.

Dear Editor,Three dimensional(3D)bioprinted extracellular matrix(ECM)can be used to provide both biochemical and biophysical cues to direct mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)differentiation,and then differentiated cells were isolated for implantation in vivo using surgical ***,the reduced cell activity after cell isolation from 3D constructs and low cell retention in injured sites limit its application[1].Methacrylated gelatin(GelMA)hydrogel has the advantage of fast crosslinking,which could resemble complex architectures of tissue construct in vivo[2].Here,we adopted a noninvasive bioprinting procedure to imitate the regenerative microenvironment that could simultaneously direct the sweat gland(SG)and vascular differentiation from MSCs and ultimately promote the replacement of glandular tissue in situ(Fig.1a).

＜正＞Spinal cord injury and regeneration related gene No 10（SCIRR10）was first identified as an EST in our efforts of seeking genes responsive to spinal cord neuron *** levels of SCIRRIO mRNA expression were detected in adult CNS and several other *** injured spinal cord,the level of SCIRRIO expression was temporally elevated.A His-tagged-SCIRR10 affinity column was able to capture thyrotropin releasing hormone receptor 2（TRHR2）from spinal cord lysates,suggesting that SCIRR10 interacted with *** interaction between SCIRR10 and TRHR2 was further confirmed by the co-localization of a GFP-SCIRR10 fusion protein with RFP-TRHR2 fusion protein expressed on COS7 *** PC12 cells,recombinant SCIRR10 and conditional medium containing SCIRR10 induced activation of the phospholipase C and MAPK pathways,the major signal transduction pathways shared by *** SCIRR10 protein and conditional medium containing SCIRR10 also enhanced the sprouting and growth of neurites from cultured embryonic rat cortex *** biological function to promote neurite growth could be interdicted with pertussis *** data demonstrated that SCIRR10 is a novel neurotrophic factor that may play an important role in the regeneration of CNS injury.

Objective:This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the epidemiology of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions related to COVID-19 in ***:This study was conducted by 45 tertiary Grade-A hospitals in *** and offline questionnaire data were obtained from patients infected with COVID-19 between December 28,2022,and February 21,*** collected information included basic demographics,medical history,smoking and drinking history,vaccination history,changes in olfactory and gustatory functions before and after infection,and other postinfection symptoms,as well as the duration and improvement status of olfactory and gustatory ***:Complete questionnaires were obtained from 35,566 *** overall incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunction was 67.75%.Being female or being a cigarette smoker increased the likelihood of developing olfactory and taste *** received four doses of the vaccine or having good oral health or being a alcohol drinker decreased the risk of such *** infection,the average olfactory and taste VAS scores were 8.41 and 8.51,respectively;after infection,they decreased to 3.69 and 4.29 and recovered to 5.83 and 6.55 by the time of the *** median duration of dysosmia and dysgeusia was 15 and 12 days,respectively,with 0.5%of patients having symptoms lasting for more than 28 *** overall self-reported improvement rate was 59.16%.Recovery was higher in males,never smokers,those who received two or three vaccine doses,and those that had never experienced dental health issues,or chronic accompanying ***:The incidence of dysosmia and dysgeusia following infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus is high in *** and prognosis are influenced by several factors,including sex,SARS-CoV-2 vaccination,history of head-facial trauma,nasal and oral health status,smoking and drinking history,and the persistence of accompanying symptoms.

Autism spectrum disorder can be differentiated into three subtypes （aloof, passive, and active-but-odd） based on social behaviors according to the Wing Subgroups Questionnaire （WSQ）. However, the correlations between the scores on some individual items and the total score are poor. In the present study, we translated the WSQ into Chinese, modified it, validated it in autistic and typically- developing Chinese children, and renamed it the beijing Autism Subtyping Questionnaire （BASQ）. Our results demonstrated that the BASQ had improved validity and reliability, and differentiated autistic children into these three subtypes more precisely. We noted that the autistic symptoms tended to be severe in the aloof, moderate in the passive, and mild in the active-but-odd subtypes. The modified questionnaire may facilitate etiological studies and the selection of therapeutic regimes.

To the Editor:In the last decade,neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC)has become a well-accepted treatment option for breast cancer,although few detailed description of NAC in china has yet been reported.[1]A previous study found that among patients with clinically node-negative(cN0)breast cancer,97.7%(432/442)with breast pathologic complete response(bpCR)had ypN0(absence of metastases in the axillary lymph nodes);and 71.6%(882/1232)without bpCR achieved ypN0(P2(HER2)positive or triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)that achieved bpCR.

Background: Malaria is a devastating infectious disease that disproportionally threatens hundreds of millions of people in developing countries. In the history of anti-malaria campaign, chloroquine(CQ) has played an indispensable role, however, its mechanism of action(MoA) is not fully ***: We used the principle of photo-affinity labeling and click chemistry-based functionalization in the design of a CQ probe and developed a combined deconvolution strategy of activity-based protein profiling(ABPP) and mass spectrometry-coupled cellular thermal shift assay(MS-CETSA) that identified the protein targets of CQ in an unbiased manner in this study. The interactions between CQ and these identified potential protein hits were confirmed by biophysical and enzymatic ***: We developed a novel clickable, photo-affinity chloroquine analog probe(CQP) which retains the antimalarial activity in the nanomole range, and identified a total of 40 proteins that specifically interacted and photocrosslinked with CQP which was inhibited in the presence of excess CQ. Using MS-CETSA, we identified 83 candidate interacting proteins out of a total of 3375 measured parasite proteins. At the same time, we identified 8 proteins as the most potential hits which were commonly identified by both ***: We found that CQ could disrupt glycolysis and energy metabolism of malarial parasites through direct binding with some of the key enzymes, a new mechanism that is different from its well-known inhibitory effect of hemozoin formation. This is the first report of identifying CQ antimalarial targets by a parallel usage of labeled(ABPP)and label-free(MS-CETSA) methods.
