Study on Tibetan Chicken embryonic adaptability to chronic hypoxia by revealing differential gene expression in heart tissue

Oxygen concentration is essential for appropriate *** can exert a significant impact on physiological alteration of the cell and *** Chicken(Gallus gallus) is a Chinese indigenous breed inhabiting in Tibetan areas,which is also a chicken breed living at high altitude for the longest time in the *** has developed an adaptive mechanism to hypoxia,which is demonstrated by that Tibetan Chicken has much higher hatchability than low-land chicken breeds in high-altitude areas of *** the present study,Tibetan Chicken fertilized full sib eggs were incubated up to Hamburger-Hamilton stage 43 under 13% and 21% oxygen concentration,*** Chicken and Dwarf Recessive White Chicken were used as control *** hearts in all of the 3 chicken breeds under hypoxic and normoxic conditions were isolated and hybridized to Genechip Chicken Genome Array to study molecular mechanisms underlying the adaptation to high altitude of Tibetan *** a result,50 transcripts highly expressed in hypoxia are screened *** up-regulated genes,some are involved in the gene ontology(GO) such as cell growth,cell difference,muscle contraction and signal ***,the expression levels of 21 transcripts are lower in hypoxia than those in *** down-regulated genes take part in cell communication,ion transport,protein amino acid phosphorylation and signal ***,gene enrichment analyses of these differential gene expressions are mainly associated with immune system response and ion channel activity in response to ***,the transcriptional expression profiles analyzed by hierarchical clustering and CPP-SOM software in all of the 3 different chicken breeds revealed that Tibetan Chicken is much closely related to Shouguang Chicken rather than Dwarf Recessive White *** addition,12 transcripts of Tibetan Chicken breed-specific expressed genes were identified,which seem to result in a more

Sequencing and alignment of mitochondrial genomes of Tibetan chicken and two lowland chicken breeds

Tibetan chicken lives in high-altitude area and has adapted well to hypoxia genetically. Shouguang chicken and Silky chicken are both lowland chicken breeds. In the present study, the complete mito-chondrial genome sequences of the three chicken breeds were all sequenced. The results showed that the mitochondrial DNAs (mtDNAs) of Shouguang chicken and Silky chicken consist of 16784 bp and 16785 bp respectively, and Tibetan chicken mitochondrial genome varies from 16784 bp to 16786 bp. After sequence analysis, 120 mutations, including 4 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in tRNA genes, 9 SNPs and 1 insertion in rRNA genes, 38 SNPs and 1 deletion in D-LOOP, 66 SNPs in pro-tein-coding genes, were found. This work will provide clues for the future study on the association between mitochondrial genes and the adaptation to hypoxia.

The ciliate protozoan Colpoda cucullus can improve maize growth by transporting soil phosphates

little is known regarding the ability of protozoans to transfer phosphates and improve maize *** objective of this study was to determine whether Colpoda cucullus could improve the maize phosphorus(P) level by transferring *** this three-compartment root box study,the soil in the outer compartment was inoculated with the common ciliate,***,together with the addition of either KH_(2)^(32)PO_(4),rock phosphate(RP),super phosphate(SP) or ammonium phosphate(AP),and then maize was grown in the inner *** results showed that the maize plants grown in the soil inoculated with *** had much higher ^(32)P radioactivity than the *** cucullus inoculation resulted in significant increases in dry matter by up to 25.07%,and nitrogen(N),P and potassium(K) absorption by 1–36%(Pliate inoculation(P<0.05).It was therefore suggested that phosphates might be transported from the outer to inner compartments by the inoculated *** and then absorbed by the maize plant.

The Yangtze River is the mother river of *** promote the aquatic ecosystem protection of the great river,the Project of Yangtze Fisheries Resources and Environment Investigation(2017-2021)supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs,*** carried out by 24 institutes and universities that located in the Yangtze River basin surveys the status of(1)fish species composition and spatial distribution,(2)current fish abundance,(3)endangered fishes,(4)Yangtze finless porpoise,(5)aquatic eco-environments,(6)water-level fluctuation areas,(7)capture fisheries and recreational fisheries of the Yangtze River mainstream and 10 of its main tributaries,including Yalong River,Heng River,Min River(including Dadu River),Chishui River,Tuo River,Jialing River,Wu River,Han River,Dongting Lake and Poyang *** results showed that there were 443 fish species(belonging to 163 genus,37 families,and 18 orders)before 2017,but only 323 fish species(including 15 new recorded exotic species)were recorded in the project of *** them,Cyprinus carpio,Carassius auratus,Hypophthalmichthys molitrix,Pelteobagrus fulvidraco,Coilia brachygnathus,Silurus asotus,Saurogobio dabryi,Ctenopharyngodon idellus,Pelteobagrus nitidus,Hemiculter leucisculus,Siniperca chuatsi,Coreius heterodon,Culter alburnus,Parabramis pekinensis,and Aristichthys nobilis were the dominant species across the whole Yangtze River *** is estimated that there were 886 million individuals weighing 124.8 million kg,merely equivalent to 27.3%of the resources in 1950s,30.9%of the resources in 1960s,or 58.7%of the resources in *** the new list of protected fishes that recorded in the Yangtze River system,only 15 of 29 were collected in this project of *** gladius has been affirmed to be Extinct by International Union for Conservation of Nature(IUCN).The wild individuals of Tenualosa reevesii and Luciobrama macrocephalus have disappeared for many years and maybe have been extinct

Contrasting resilience of soil microbial biomass,microbial diversity and ammonification enzymes under three applied soil fumigants

Fumigation is a widely applied approach to mitigate the soil-borne ***,the potential effects of currently applied fumigants on ammonification remain *** 84-day incubation experiment was conducted based on non-fumigated soil(CK)and fumigated soil using three common fumigants,i.e.,chloropicrin(CP),1,3-dichloropropene(1,3-D),and metam sodium(MS).The results showed that,the three fumigants all decreased the microbial C,and the largest reduction(84.7%)occurred with the application of *** fumigation,the microbial diversity in the CP treatment rapidly recovered,but that in the 1,3-D treatment decreased and did not recover by the end of the *** application of MS showed no impact on the microbial diversity during the assay,indicating that significantly different microbial diversity can be achieved by choosing different ***,the three fumigants showed divergent effects on the enzymes involved in *** analysis showed that the enzyme variation with CP application was mainly associated with the changed microbial C and N(Plity index showed that CP was still significantly harmful at the end of incubation compared with the good resilience of MS,indicating that CP may not be a suitable fumigant.

Prion disease represents a group of fatal neurogenerative diseases in humans and animals that are associated with energy loss,axonal degeneration,and mitochondrial *** degeneration is an early hallmark of neurodegeneration and is triggered by *** found that depletion or dysfunctional mutation of SARM1 protected against NAD+loss,axonal degeneration,and mitochondrial functional disorder induced by the neurotoxic peptide ***+supplementation rescued prion-triggered axonal degeneration and mitochondrial dysfunction and SARM1 overexpression suppressed this protective ***+supplementation in PrP106-126-incubated N2a cells,SARM1 depletion,and SARM1 dysfunctional mutation each blocked neuronal apoptosis and increased cell *** results indicate that the axonal degeneration and mitochondrial dysfunction triggered by PrP^(106-126) are partially dependent on SARM1 NADase *** pathway has potential as a therapeutic target in the early stages of prion disease.
