BACKGROUND Acromial and scapular spine fractures after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty(RTSA)are a well-known complication that may negatively impact the effects of long-term ***,to the best of our knowledge,there has been no report of simultaneous bilateral fractures of the acromion or scapular spine that occurred following staged *** SUMMARY A 79-year-old right-handed male visited our outpatient clinic with a chief complaint of pain and limited motion of both shoulder joints for a one-year *** on plain radiographs and magnetic resonance images,the preoperative diagnosis was bilateral cuff tear arthropathy with failed rotator cuff *** patient was treated with staged bilateral RTSA at a two-month *** 5 and 3 mo after right and left side surgery,the patient returned to the outpatient clinic with severe pain and limited motion of both shoulder joints for 2 wk without a traumatic event.A computed tomography scan revealed nondisplaced acromial base fractures of both *** bilateral involvement,fracture location,and patient’s demand,open reduction and internal fixation(ORIF)using plate for bilateral acromial base fractures were *** 2 years after ORIF,the fracture was completely healed,and the patient was satisfied with shoulder *** This report describes an extremely rare case of simultaneous bilateral acromial base fractures after staged RTSA managed successfully by ORIF with a precontoured plate designed for distal clavicle *** acromial fracture after RTSA can be treated conservatively,simultaneous bilateral fractures may warrant surgical intervention as a means of addressing difficulties in activities of daily living.

The toxic effects of the composites of Fe^0 and Cu^0 with different percentages of CNTs were examined based on the activity of bacterial bioluminescence and seed germination. In terms of the EC50 values, the toxic effects of Cu^0 on bacterial bioluminescence and seed germination were approximately 2 and 180 times greater than that of Fe^0, respectively. The toxicity increased with increasing CNT content in the Cu-CNT mixtures for both organisms,whereas opposite results were observed with Fe-CNT mixtures. The mean toxic effects of Cu-CNT（6%） were approximately 1.3–1.4 times greater than that of Cu-CNT（0%）, whereas the toxic effects of Fe-CNT（6%） were approximately 2.1–2.5 times lower than that of Fe-CNT（0%） for both the bioluminescence activity and seed germination. The causes of this phenomenon are unclear at this point. More research will be needed to elucidate the mechanism of the toxicity of nano-mixture materials and the causes of the different patterns of toxicity with Cu-and Fe-CNT mixtures.

A GIS-Based Framework for Real-Time Debris-Flow Hazard Assessment for Expressways in Korea

Debris flows caused by heavy rainfall in mountain areas near expressways lead to severe social and economic losses and sometimes result in ***, the development of a real-time system for debris-flow hazard assessment is necessary to provide preliminary information for rapid decision making about evacuations or restoration measures, as well as to prevent secondary disasters caused by debris flows. Recently,various map-based approaches have been proposed using multi-attribute criteria and assessment methods for debrisflow susceptibilities. For the macrozonation of debris-flow hazard at a national scale, a simplified method such as the Korea Expressway Corporation(KEC) debris-flow hazard assessment method can be applied for systematic analysis based on geographic information systems(GIS) and monitoring networks. In this study, a GIS-based framework of real-time debris-flow hazard assessment for expressway sections is proposed based on the KEC debris-flow hazard assessment method. First, the KEC-based method was standardized in a systematic fashion using Arc GIS,enabling the objective and quantitative acquisition of various attribute datasets. The quantification of rainfall criteria also was considered. A safety management system for debris-flow hazard was developed based on the GIS platform. Finally, the method was applied and verified on three expressway sections in Korea. The grading standard for each individual influencing attribute was subsequently modified to more accurately assess the debris-flow hazards.

Dear Editor, The LATERAL ORGAN BOUNDARIES DOMAIN （LBD）/ ASYMMETRICLEAVES2-LIKE （ASL） genes （hereafter referred to as LBD） encode proteins containing a conserved plant-specific LOB domain and play roles in lateral organ development （Iwakawa et al., 2002; Shuai et al., 2002; Majer and Hochholdinger, 2011）. The LOB domain is approximately 100 amino acids in length and contains a conserved four-Cys motif （CX2CX6CX3C）, the Gly-Ala-Ser block （GAS）, and the leucine-zipper-like coiled-coil motif （LX6LX3LX6L）（Shuai et al., 2002）. The leucine-zipper-like coiled-coil motif in the LOB domain is predicted to function in protein dimerization. LOB, AS2, and LBD4 preferentially bind unique DNA sequences in electrophoretic mobility shift assays （EMSAs）（Husbands et al., 2007）. A number of studies have investigated peripheral inflammatory indices, including plasma cytokines and related molecules according to subtypes of dementia, but not in mild cognitive impairment （MCI）. In this study, we used multiplex cytokine assay to assess the plasma levels of 22 cytokines in patients with MCI subtyped as amnestic and non-amnestic, according to cognitive features. When comparing the levels of plasma growth factors, chemokines and cytokines, plasma levels of monocyte chemotactic protein 3 （MCP-3）, and beta-nerve growth factor （β-NGF） in these two groups, they were found to be significantly higher in amnestic MCI patients than in non-amnestic MCI patients, after adjusting for age and gender. This suggests that plasma MCP-3 and β-NGF may be useful in differentiating subtypes of MCI.

Detection of unknown attacks like a zero-day attack is a research field that has long been ***,advances in Machine Learning(ML)and Artificial Intelligence(AI)have led to the emergence of many kinds of attack-generation tools developed using these technologies to evade detection *** detection and misuse detection are the most commonly used techniques for detecting intrusion by unknown *** anomaly detection is adequate for detecting unknown attacks,its disadvantage is the possibility of high false *** detection has low false alarms;its limitation is that it can detect only known *** overcome such limitations,many researchers have proposed a hybrid intrusion detection that integrates these two detection *** method can overcome the limitations of conventional methods and works better in detecting unknown ***,this method does not accurately classify attacks like similar to normal or known ***,we proposed a hybrid intrusion detection to detect unknown attacks similar to normal and known *** anomaly detection,the model was designed to perform normal detection using Fuzzy c-means(FCM)and identify attacks hidden in normal predicted data using *** misuse detection,the model was designed to detect previously known attacks using Classification and Regression Trees(CART)and apply Isolation Forest(iForest)to classify unknown attacks hidden in known *** an experiment result,the application of relabeling improved attack detection accuracy in anomaly detection by approximately 11%and enhanced the performance of unknown attack detection in misuse detection by approximately 10%.
