The challenge for single-atom catalysts in various C-C cross coupling reaction exists in the development of solid supporting *** has been desired tofind a supporting material designed in molecular level to anchor a single-atom catalyst and provide high degree of dispersion and substrate access in aqueous ***,we prepared discrete cages of metal-organic polyhedra anchoring single Pd atom(MOP-BPY(Pd))and successfully performed a Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling reaction with various substrates in aqueous *** was revealed that each tetrahedral cage of MOP-BPY(Pd)has 4.5 Pd atoms on average and retained its high degree of dispersion up to 3 months in *** coupling efficiencies of the Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling reaction exhibited more than 90.0%for various substrates we have tested in the aqueous media,which is superior to those of the molecular Pd complex and metal-organic framework(MOF)anchoring Pd ***,MOP-BPY(Pd)was successfully recovered and recycled without performance degradation.

Controlling the chemistry at the interface of nanocrystalline solids has been a challenge and an important goal to realize desired properties. Integrating two different types of materials has the potential to yield new functions resulting from cooperative effects between the two constituents. Metal-organic frameworks （MOFs） are unique in that they are constructed by linking inorganic units with organic linkers where the building units can be varied nearly at will. This flexibility has made MOFs ideal materials for the design of functional entities at interfaces and hence allowing control of properties. This review highlights the strategies employed to access synergistic functionality at the interface of nanocrystalline MOFs （nMOFs） and inorganic nanocrystals （NCs）.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of the ethyl acetate fraction derived from Sargassum pallidum extract against particulate matter(PM)-induced oxidative stress and inflammation in HaCaT cells and ***:HaCaT cells and zebrafish were used to evaluate the protective effects of the ethyl acetate fraction of Sargassum pallidum extract against PM-induced oxidative stress and *** production of nitric oxide(NO),intracellular ROS,prostaglandin E_(2)(PGE_(2)),and pro-inflammatory cytokines,and the expression levels of COX-2,iNOS,and NF-κB were evaluated in PM-induced HaCaT ***,the levels of ROS,NO,and lipid peroxidation were assessed in the PM-exposed zebrafish ***:The ethyl acetate fraction of Sargassum pallidum extract significantly decreased the production of NO,intracellular ROS,and PGE_(2) in PM-induced HaCaT *** addition,the fraction markedly suppressed the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and inhibited the expression levels of COX-2,iNOS,and NF-κ***,it displayed remarkable protective effects against PM-induced inflammatory response and oxidative stress,represented by the reduction of NO,ROS,and lipid peroxidation in ***:The ethyl acetate fraction of Sargassum pallidum extract exhibits a protective effect against PM-induced oxidative stress and inflammation both in vitro and in vivo and has the potential as a candidate for the development of pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical products.

CRISPR-Cas9 system is now widely used to edit a target genome in animals and plants. Cas9 protein derived from Streptococcus pyogenes（Sp Cas9） cleaves double-stranded DNA targeted by a chimeric single-guide RNA（sg RNA）. For plant genome editing, Agrobacterium-mediated T-DNA transformation has been broadly used to express Cas9 proteins and sg RNAs under the control of Ca MV 35 S and U6/U3 promoter, respectively. We here developed a simple and high-throughput binary vector system to clone a 19 20 bp of sg RNA, which binds to the reverse complement of a target locus, in a large T-DNA binary vector containing an Sp Cas9 expressing cassette. Twostep cloning procedures：（1） annealing two target-specific oligonucleotides with overhangs specific to the Aar I restriction enzyme site of the binary vector; and（2） ligating the annealed oligonucleotides into the two Aar I sites of the vector, facilitate the high-throughput production of the positive clones. In addition, Cas9-coding sequence and U6/U3 promoter can be easily exchanged via the GatewayTMsystem and unique Eco RI/Xho I sites on the vector, respectively. We examined the mutation ratio and patterns when we transformed these constructs into Arabidopsis thaliana and a wild tobacco, Nicotiana attenuata. Our vector system will be useful to generate targeted large-scale knock-out lines of model as well as non-model plant.

Cryptotanshinone (CT), a major tanshinone of medicinal plant Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge, demonstrated effective in vitro antibacterial activity against all oral bacteria tested in this experiment. The antibacterial activities of CT against oral bacteria were assessed using the checkerboard and time-kill methods to evaluate the synergistic effects of treatment with ampicillin or gentamicin. The CT was determined against oral pathogenic bacteria with MIC and MBC values ranging from 0.5 to 16 and 1 to 64 μg/mL;for am- picillin from 0.0313 to 16 and 0.125 to 32 μg/mL;for gentamicin from 2 to 256 and 4 to 512 μg/mL respectively. The range of MIC50 and MIC90 were 0.0625 - 8 μg/mL and 1 - 64 μg/mL, respectively. The combination effects of CT with antibiotics were synergistic (FIC index ministered alone or with ampicillin or gentamicin. The results suggest that CT could be employed as a natural antibacterial agent against cariogenic and periodontopathogenic bac- teria.

BACKGROUND Delayed inflammatory reactions(DIRs)in alloplast rhinoplasty are a rare complication that may occur several months to years after *** exact causes and mechanisms are unclear,but several triggering factors,including infections,trauma,dental procedures,and vaccination,have been *** SUMMARY A 39-year-old male patient who had undergone augmentation rhinoplasty 8 years ago had DIRs after the administration of the first dose of the mRNA Pfizer coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)*** suddenly had tender,erythematous swelling on his face 6 d after *** there was no improvement in the patient’s condition after the conservative treatment,surgical removal of an alloplastic nasal implant was *** after the surgery,the DIRs and accompanying symptoms ameliorated rapidly.A histological study conducted during surgery was fibrosis and small fragments of the hyaline *** The correlation between DIRs and COVID-19 vaccination has not been reported yet and the exact mechanism is *** the uncontrolled inflammatory reactions on the nose leave serious sequelae,surgeons should be conscious of the correlation between COVID-19 vaccines and DIRs associated with nasal alloplastic *** further histological or microbiological studies should be performed to determine the cause of DIRs.
