Amplified chirality and Förster resonance energy transfer(FRET)-assisted chirality transfer frommolecular to nanoscale level have been shown to play a vital role in co-assembled nanohelix for potential energy transfer in biological systems.Herein,we have constructed a chiral host–guest complex donor system for chiral amplification via induced chirality of pillar[5]arene host and loaded it with an achiral dye acceptor to demonstrate how chirality-assisted excitation energy transfer occurred in the supramolecular nanohelix system in an aqueous medium.

Social Networking Sites(SNSs)are nowadays utilized by the whole world to share ideas,images,and valuable contents by means of a post to reach a group of users.The use of SNS often inﬂicts the physical and the mental health of the people.Nowadays,researchers often focus on identifying the illegal beha-viors in the SNS to reduce its negative inﬂuence.The state-of-art Natural Language processing techniques for anomaly detection have utilized a wide anno-tated corpus to identify the anomalies and they are often time-consuming as well as certainly do not guarantee maximum accuracy.To overcome these issues,the proposed methodology utilizes a Modiﬁed Convolutional Neural Network(MCNN)using stochastic pooling and a Leaky Rectiﬁed Linear Unit(LReLU).Here,each word in the social media text is analyzed based on its meaning.The stochastic pooling accurately detects the anomalous social media posts and reduces the chance of overﬁtting.The LReLU overcomes the high computational cost and gradient vanishing problem associated with other activation functions.It also doesn’t stop the learning process when the values are negative.The MCNN computes a speciﬁed score value using a novel integrated anomaly detection tech-nique.Based on the score value,the anomalies are identiﬁed.A Teaching Learn-ing based Optimization(TLBO)algorithm has been used to optimize the feature extraction phase of the modiﬁed CNN and fast convergence is offered.In this way,the performance of the model is enhanced in terms of classiﬁcation accuracy.The efﬁciency of the proposed technique is compared with the state-of-art techni-ques in terms of accuracy,sensitivity,speciﬁcity,recall,and precision.The proposed MCNN-TLBO technique has provided an overall architecture of 97.85%,95.45%,and 97.55%for the three social media datasets namely Facebook,Twitter,and Reddit respectively.

Elevated Liver Enzymes along with Comorbidity Is a High Risk Factor for COVID-19 Mortality:A South Indian Study on 1,512 Patients

Background and Aims:Liver enzyme abnormalities in coronavirus 2019(COVID-19)are being addressed in the literature.The predictive risk of elevated liver enzymes has not been established for COVID-19 mortality.In this study,we hypothesized that elevated liver enzymes at ad-mission can predict the outcome of COVID-19 disease with other known indicators,such as comorbidities.Methods:This retrospective study included all the consecutive hos-pitalized patients with confirmed COVID-19 disease from March 4th to May 31st,2020.The study was conducted in Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital,Chennai,Ta-mil Nadu,India.We assessed demography,clinical vari-ables,COVID-19 severity,laboratory parameters,and out-come.Results:We included 1,512 patients,and median age was 47 years(interquartile range:34-60)with 36.9%being female.Liver enzyme level(aspartate aminotrans-ferase and/or alanine aminotransferase)was elevated in 450/1,512(29.76%)patients.Comorbidity was present in 713/1,512(47.16%)patients.Patients with liver enzymes’elevation and presence of comorbidity were older,more frequently hospitalized in ICU and had more severe symp-toms of COVID-19 at the time of admission.Presence of liver enzymes’elevation with comorbidity was a high risk factor for death(OR:5.314,95%CI:2.278-12.393),as compared to patients with presence of comorbidity(OR:4.096,95%CI:1.833-9.157).Conclusions:Comorbid-ity combined with liver enzymes’elevation at presentation independently increased the risk of death in COVID-19 by at least 5-fold.

Design of Precise Multiplier Using Inexact Compressor for Digital Signal Processing

In the recent years,error recovery circuits in optimized data path units are adopted with approximate computing methodology.In this paper the novel multipliers have effective utilization in the newly proposed two different 4:2 approximate compressors that generate Error free Sum(ES)and Error free Carry(EC).Proposed ES and Proposed EC in 4:2 compressors are used for performing Partial Product(PP)compression.The structural arrangement utilizes Dadda structure based PP.Due to the regularity of PP arrangement Dadda multiplier is chosen for compressor implementation that favors easy standard cell ASIC design.In this,the proposed compression idealogy are more effective in the smallest n columns,and the accurate compressor in the remaining most significant columns.This limits the error in the multiplier output to be not more than 2n for an n X n multiplication.The choice among the proposed compressors is decided based on the significance of the sum and carry signals on the multiplier result.As an enhancement to the proposed multiplier,we introduce two Area Efficient(AE)variants viz.,Proposed-AE(P-AE),and P-AE with Error Recovery(P-AEER).The proposed basic P-AE,and P-AEER designs exhibit 46.7%,52.9%,and 52.7%PDP reduction respectively when compared to an approximate multiplier of minimal error type and are designed with 90nm ASIC technology.The proposed design and their performance validation are done by using Cadence Encounter.The performance evaluations are carried out using cadence encounter with 90nm ASIC technology.The proposed-basic P-AEA and P-AEER designs demonstrate 46.7%,52.9%and 52.7%PDP reduction compared to the minimal error approximate multiplier.The proposed multiplier is implemented in digital image processing which revealed 0.9810 Structural SIMilarity Index(SSIM),to the least,and less than 3%deviation in ECG signal processing application.

In this paper, a new numerical method for solving fractional differential equations(FDEs) is presented. The method is based upon the fractional Taylor basis approximations. The operational matrix of the fractional integration for the fractional Taylor basis is introduced. This matrix is then utilized to reduce the solution of the fractional differential equations to a system of algebraic equations. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of this technique.

High Prevalent Hypovitaminosis D Is Associated with Dysregulation of Calcium-parathyroid Hormone-vitamin D Axis in Patients with Chronic Liver Diseases

Background and Aims:Although hypovitaminosis D is common among patients with chronic liver disease(CLD),the data are inconsistent on its prevalence and its relationship with CLD.This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of hypovitaminosis D among patients with CLD and to determine the relationship between hypovitaminosis D and severity of liver dysfunction,and calcium(Ca),phosphate(PO4)and parathyroid hormone(PTH)levels in CLD.Methods:The study included 236 CLD patients attending the Department of Hepatology,Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital(Chennai,India).Serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25(OH)D),PTH,Ca,and PO4 were estimated.Severity of liver dysfunction was graded using the Child-Turcotte-Pugh(CTP)score.Results:The first report from our population showed that 162 of 236(68.6%)CLD patients had hypovitaminosis D(25(OH)D levels of<30 ng/mL),with higher frequency(124/162)76.5%among CTP B,C patients.Significant negative correlation(r=-0.288,p=0.0001)between 25(OH)D and CTP scores was noted in hypovitaminosis D conditions.Level of 25(OH)D was correlated negatively with PTH(r=-0.537,p=0.0001),positively with Ca(r=0.657,p=0.0001),and positively with PO4(r=0.477,p=0.0001)in sufficient vitamin D conditions.Conclusions:Hypovitaminosis D is associated with higher CTP scores and is strongly associated with dysregulation of the Ca-PTH-vitamin D axis in CLD.Timely measurement of vitamin D levels is essential,along with levels of PTH,Ca and PO4,to manage CLD patients.

This research investigates the impact of internships on skill acquisition among nursing students in vocational colleges in Shandong Province.By employing a mixed-methods approach involving surveys and interviews,the study re-veals the positive influence of internships on students’clinical competencies,professional qualities,and readiness for the workforce.Survey findings indicate heightened practical capabilities and increased confidence among students.Interviews emphasize the pivotal role of mentors in guiding skills development and professional growth.However,challenges such as resource constraints and workload imbalances during internships are also highlighted.These insights contribute to the en-hancement of nursing education and the preparation of competent nursing professionals in the region.

Biofilm-forming fluconazole-resistant Candida auris causing vulvovaginal candidiasis in an immunocompetent patient: A case report

Rationale:Candida auris is a potential emerging pathogen among Candida and causes serious health threats globally.Patient concerns:We reported a case of vulvovaginal candidiasis caused by Candida auris.A 26-year-old female presented with complaints of vaginal discharge,itching and low back pain.Diagnosis:High vaginal swab culture yielded Candida.The strain was confirmed as Candida auris by amplification and sequencing the internal transcribed spacer region.Antifungal susceptibility testing revealed that the isolate was resistant to fluconazole,amphotericin B and clotrimazole and susceptible to ketoconazole and nystatin.The isolate also exhibited biofilm forming ability.Interventions:Her symptoms did not subside with initial management with fluconazole and clotrimazole.Later,she was started on ketoconazole therapy.The patient responded well to ketoconazole.Outcome and lessons:To the best of our knowledge,this is the first report about the presence of a drug resistant biofilm forming Candida auris strain isolated from a vaginal swab sample from Chennai area.Biofilm forming ability might contribute to its drug resistance.Nucleic acid analysis helps in rapid and accurate identification of such rare species.
