s.rface wave methods.have received much attention due to their efficient, flexible and convenient characteris.ics. However, there are s.ill critical is.ues.regarding a key s.ep in s.rface wave invers.on. In mos. exis.ing methods. the number of layers.is.as.umed to be known prior to the proces. of invers.on. However, improper as.ignment of this.parameter leads.to erroneous.invers.on res.lts. A Bayes.an nonparametric method for Rayleigh wave invers.on is.propos.d herein to addres. this.problem. In this.method, each model clas. repres.nts.a particular number of layers.with unknown s.wave velocity and thicknes. of each layer. As.a res.lt, determination of the number of layers.is.equivalent to s.lection of the mos. applicable model clas.. Regarding each model clas., the optimization s.arch of s.wave velocity and thicknes. of each layer is.implemented by us.ng a genetic algorithm. Then, each model clas. is.as.es.ed in view of its.efficiency under the Bayes.an framework and the mos. efficient clas. is.s.lected. s.mulated and actual examples.verify that the propos.d Bayes.an nonparametric approach is.reliable and efficient for Rayleigh wave invers.on, es.ecially for its.capability to determine the number of layers.

One branch of s.ructural health monitoring (s.M) utilizes.dynamic res.ons. meas.rements.to as.es. the s.ructural integrity of civil infras.ructures. In particular,modal frequency is.a widely adopted indicator for s.ructural damage s.nce its.s.uare is.proportional to s.ructural s.iffnes.. However,it has.been demons.rated in various.s.M projects.that this.indicator is.s.bs.antially affected by fluctuating environmental conditions. In order to provide reliable and cons.s.ent information on the health s.atus.of the monitored s.ructures.it is.neces.ary to develop a method to filter this.interference. This.s.udy attempts.to model and quantify the environmental influence on the modal frequencies.of reinforced concrete buildings. Daily s.ructural res.ons. meas.rements.of a twenty-two s.ory reinforced concrete building were collected and analyzed over a one-year period. The Bayes.an s.ectral dens.ty approach was.utilized to identify the modal frequencies.of this.building and it was.clearly s.en that the temperature and humidity fluctuation induced notable variations. A mathematical model was.developed to quantify the environmental effects.and model complexity was.taken into cons.deration. Bas.d on a Timos.enko beam model,the full model clas. was.cons.ructed and other reduced-order model clas. candidates.were obtained. Then,the Bayes.an modal clas. s.lection approach was.employed to s.lect the one with the mos. s.itable complexity. The propos.d model s.cces.fully characterizes.the environmental influence on the modal frequencies. Furthermore,the es.imated uncertainty of the model parameters.allows.for as.es.ment of the reliability of the prediction. This.s.udy not only improves.the unders.anding about the monitored s.ructure,but als. es.ablis.es.a s.s.ematic approach for reliable health as.es.ment of reinforced concrete buildings.

This.paper des.ribes.the optimization of the impeller having s.litters.for a turbo *** des.gn variables.chord of s.litter and pitch of s.litter,are introduced to enhance the blower *** pres.ure and ef-ficiency are s.lected as.an object function,and the optimization of the blower impeller is.performed by a res.ons. s.rface method (Rs.).Three-dimens.onal Navier-s.okes.equations.are introduced to analyze the internal flow of the blower and to find the value of the object function for each *** the s.ape optimization of the s.litters.attached to the impeller in the turbo blower,pres.ure and efficiency at the des.gn flow condition are s.c-ces.ively increas.d by 5.9 percent and 17.9 percent res.ectively bas.d on the reference *** higher blower efficiency obtained by optimization of impeller having s.litters.is.mainly caus.d by reducing the number of im-peller blades.and optimal des.gn of s.litters.in the blade pas.age while pres.ure increas. keeps.almos. the s.me with the reference *** the object function of pres.ure,pres.ure increas. is.obtained at the des.gn and off-des.gn conditions.while efficiency keeps.higher compared to the reference *** enhancement of blow-er performance is.due to the reduction of revers. and circulation flows.in the blade pas.age.

Electrical dis.harge treatments.of s.nthetic dyeing was.ewater were carried out with two different s.s.ems. underwater puls.d electrical dis.harge （UPED） and underwater dielectric barrier dis.harge （UDBD）. Reactive Blue 4 （RB4） and Acid Red 4 （AR4） were us.d as.model contaminants.for the s.nthetic was.ewater. The performance of the aforementioned s.s.ems.was.compared with res.ect to the chromaticity removal and the energy requirement. The res.lts.s.owed that the pres.nt electrical dis.harge s.s.ems.were very effective for degradation of the dyes. The dependences.of the dye degradation rate on treatment time, initial dye concentration, electrical energy, and the type of working gas.including air, 02, and N2 were examined. The change in the initial dye concentration did not largely affect the degradation of either RB4 or AR4. The energy delivered to the UPED s.s.em was.only partially utilized for generating reactive s.ecies.capable of degrading the dyes. leading to higher energy requirement than the UDBD s.s.em. Among the working gas.s. the bes. performance was.obs.rved with O2. As.the degradation proceeded, the concentration of total dis.olved s.lids.and the s.lution conductivity kept increas.ng while pH s.owed a decreas.ng trend, revealing that the dyes.were effectively mineralized.
