Most retaining walls and box culverts built for arterial road construction are simple, and the design process of these structures is often repetitive and labor-intensive because they are so similar in structural configuration. Professionals in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction(AEC) industry have tried to speed up repetitive design processes by using such computer applications as structure analysis packages and CAD packages. These computer applications have successfully facilitated the process of analyzing structural stability, selecting optimum structural members, and producing CAD drawings. however, the resultant data generated by one application have sometimes had to be delivered to succeeding applications almost manually. Lack of connectivity among applications has resulted all too easily in information loss or duplication during design.

Objective: To compare refractive outcomes using the Lenstar optical low-coherence reflectometry (OLCR) biometer in the following cases: phacovitrectomy for epiretinal membranes and macular holes (phacovitrectomy group);sequential cataract surgery after prior vitrectomy (sequential-phaco group);routine cataract surgery (phaco-only group). Methods: This study was a retrospective, consecutive comparative series. Main outcomes were mean prediction error (ME) and mean absolute prediction error (MAE). Secondary out-come was the variance in prediction error. Results: ME was significantly more myopic in the phacovitrectomy group (-0.08 ± 0.77D, mean ± SD, p = 0.04) and the sequentialphaco group (-0.09 ± 0.51D, p = 0.01) compared to the phaco-only group (+0.24 ± 0.53D). MAEs were not statistically different across the 3 groups. The phacovitrectomy group had a wider variance in prediction errors compared to the phaco-only group (p = 0.03). Conclusions: There is a myopic shift of approximately -0.3D in both phacovitrectomy and sequential-phaco cases compared to phaco-only cases when using OLCR-based optical biometry. Phacovitrectomy outcomes are more variable compared to phaco-only eyes.

hydrogen isotopes in lipid biomarkers can trace past changes in the hydrologic cycle. Recent studies have revealed the potential of hydrogen isotopes in microalgal lipids for quantitatively reconstructing water δ~2h（δD） values and salinity. In this study we collected suspended particles along a salinity gradient from the Changjiang River Estuary（CRE）, and measured δD values in fatty acids in these particles. The results indicated that δD values of water were correlated highly with salinity from the CRE, in agreement with the results from other estuaries. δD values in palmitic acid and stearic acid had a positive correlation with δD values of water from the CRE. Nevertheless, in the CRE, hydrogen isotope fractionation in fatty acids relative to water increased as salinity increased, opposite the trend in hydrogen isotope fractionation with salinity found in microalgal culture and field studies. We attribute the increase in hydrogen isotope fractionation as salinity increased to light availability, which was likely lower in the particle rich mixing zone at the end of the estuary, and potentially as well to multiple sources of fatty acids in the CRE.

Grape seed extract(GSE)is an interesting source for polyphenols and other phytochemicals with high antioxidant ***,we report on a comprehensive study investigating GSE in various in vitro and in vivo *** results indicate that GSE improves parameters related to intestinal barrier integrity in cell culture,*** and *** wound healing was observed in a scratch assay using intestinal IPEC-J2 cells when pre-treated with ***,reactive oxygen species were found to be significantly decreased in cell culture and *** *** ***,qPCR gene expression analysis revealed significant modulations after 24 h of GSE ***,a 42-day broiler feeding study revealed a dose dependant effect on growth performance in the GSE supplemented *** conclusion,GSE was found to provide promising properties including wound closure,intestinal integrity,and antioxidant activity.

The development of a new generation of nonantibody protein drug delivery systems requires site-directed conjugation strategies to produce homogeneous,reproducible and scalable *** that,the genetic addition of cysteine residues into solvent-exposed positions allows the thiol-mediated cysteine coupling of therapeutic drugs into protein-based ***,the high reactivity of unpaired cysteine residues usually reduces protein stability,consequently imposing the use of more methodologically demanding purification *** is especially relevant for disulfide-containing nanocarriers,as previously observed in ***,although many protein scaffolds and targeting ligands are also rich in disulfide bridges,the use of these methodologies over emerging non-antibody carrier proteins has been completely ***,we report the development of a simple and straightforward procedure for a onestep production and site-directed cysteine conjugation of disulfide-containing non-antibody thiolated carrier proteins(ThIOCAPs).This method is validated in a fluorescent C-X-C chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4)-targeted multivalent nanocarrier containing two intramolecular disulfide bridges and one reactive cysteine residue strategically placed into a solvent-exposed position(ThIO-T22-GFP-h6)for drug conjugation and in a humanized alternative intended for clinical applications(T22-hSNBT-h6).Thus,we produce very stable,homogeneous and fully functional antitumoral nanoconjugates(ThIO-T22-GFP-h6-MMAE and T22-hSNBT-h6-MMAE)that selectively eliminate target cancer cells via ***,the developed methodology appears as a powerful tool for the rational engineering of emerging non-antibody,cell-targeted protein nanocarriers that contain disulfide bridges together with a solvent-exposed reactive cysteine(ThIOCAP).This should pave the way for the development of a new generation of stable,homogeneous and efficient nanomedicines.

Elevated intracellular[hCO] with low[CO]and[h]activated S-type anion currents, whereas low[hCO] at high[CO]and[h]did *** enhanced the intracellular Ca sensitivity of S-type anion channel activation in wild type and htl-2 mutant guard ***1-2 mutant guard cells exhibited enhanced bicarbonate sensitivity of S-type anion channel ***,OST1 loss-of-function alleles showed strongly impaired CO-induced stomatal closing and hCO-activation of anion channels. Moreover,PYR/RCAR ABA receptor mutant slowed but did not abolish CO/hCO signaling,redefining the convergence point of CO and ABA ***, bicarbonate collaborates with Ca to activate SLAC1 in guard cell CO signaling.

Knowledge of genetic diversity and barcoding of yam is lacking in Enugu and Ebonyi States of southern Nigeria. Therefore, DNA barcoding was used to facilitate identification and biodiversity studies of yam species from Southern Nigeria. Seventy five yam accessions were collected from Enugu and Ebonyi States, including International Institute of Tropical Agriculture for DNA extraction and amplification using a chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase (rbcL) marker. There was high level of similarity among the accessions and presence of 534 conserved and 7 variable sites. A transversional mutation of G/T at a consensus position of 335 was identified followed by transitions at 362 (A/G), 368 (A/G), 371 (C/T) and 391 (C/T) within the accessions. Phylogeny resolved the yam accessions into ten major groups with their bootstrap values ranging from 0 - 100. Phylogenetic diversity was highest in group X, followed by VII, VI and IX. The inter-group genetic distance based on Kimura 2-parameter model ranged from 0.5000 ± 0.4770 - 5.0560 ± 2.5760, while the intra-group had 0.5250 ± 0.5000 - 2.0103 ± 1.2579. The mean genetic diversity within the entire population was 0.7970 ± 0.06910. BLAST analysis of total bit score, query coverage, and percentage identity were in the ranges of 411 - 1011, 99% - 100% and 97% - 100%, respectively. however, the rbcL could not resolve the yam accessions well following the comparative assessment of some discrepancies in the detected number of species from phylogenetic groupings, genetic diversity indices and NCBI BLAST hits, thereby, exposing the inefficiency of this marker in discriminating the yam accessions. It was demonstrated that rbcL is not an effective marker;therefore, it should not be recommended as a standard-alone marker of choice for DNA barcoding of yam accessions, especially, when accurate identification, discrimination and estimation of genetic diversity of this vital crop are of paramount importance for crop im
