To support dramatically increased traffic loads,communication networks become ultra-dense.Traditional cell association(CA)schemes are timeconsuming,forcing researchers to seek fast schemes.This paper proposes a deep Q-learning based scheme,whose main idea is to train a deep neural network(DNN)to calculate the Q values of all the state-action pairs and the cell holding the maximum Q value is associated.In the training stage,the intelligent agent continuously generates samples through the trial-anderror method to train the DNN until convergence.In the application stage,state vectors of all the users are inputted to the trained DNN to quickly obtain a satisfied CA result of a scenario with the same BS locations and user distribution.Simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme provides satisfied CA results in a computational time several orders of magnitudes shorter than traditional schemes.Meanwhile,performance metrics,such as capacity and fairness,can be guaranteed.

Background:The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has changed human behavior in areas such as contact patterns and mask-wearing frequency.Exploring human–human contact patterns and mask-wearing habits in high-risk groups is an essential step in fully understanding the transmission of respiratory infection-based diseases.This study had aims to quantify local human–human(H–H)contacts in high-risk groups in representative provinces of China and to explore the occupation-specific assortativity and heterogeneity of social contacts.Methods:Delivery workers,medical workers,preschoolers,and students from Qinghai,Shanghai,and Zhejiang were recruited to complete an online questionnaire that queried general information,logged contacts,and assessed the willingness to wear a mask in different settings.The“group contact”was defined as contact with a group at least 20 individuals.The numbers of contacts across different characteristics were assessed and age-specific contact matrices were established.A generalized additive mixed model was used to analyze the associations between the number of individual contacts and several characteristics.The factors influencing the frequency of mask wearing were evaluated with a logistic regression model.Results:A total of 611,287 contacts were reported by 15,635 participants.The frequency of daily individual contacts averaged 3.14(95%confidence interval:3.13–3.15)people per day,while that of group contacts was 37.90(95%CI:37.20–38.70).Skin-to-skin contact and long-duration contact were more likely to occur at home or among family members.Contact matrices of students were the most assortative(all contacts q-index=0.899,95%CI:0.894–0.904).Participants with larger household sizes reported having more contacts.Higher household income per capita was significantly associated with a greater number of contacts among preschoolers(P_(50,000–99,999)=0.033)and students(P_(10,000–29,999)=0.017).In each of the public places,the frequency of mask wearing was highest for delivery workers.For presc

In this paper,a new distributed consensus tracking protocol incorporating local disturbance rejection is devised for a multi-agent system with heterogeneous dynamic uncertainties and disturbances over a directed graph.It is of two-degree-of-freedom nature.Specifically,a robust distributed controller is designed for consensus tracking,while a local disturbance estimator is designed for each agent without requiring the input channel information of disturbances.The condition for asymptotic disturbance rejection is derived.Moreover,even when the disturbance model is not exactly known,the developed method also provides good disturbance-rejection performance.Then,a robust stabilization condition with less conservativeness is derived for the whole multi-agent system.Further,a design algorithm is given.Finally,comparisons with the conventional one-degree-of-freedombased distributed disturbance-rejection method for mismatched disturbances and the distributed extended-state observer for matched disturbances validate the developed method.

Aging, subjected to scientific scrutiny, is extensively defined as a time-dependent decline in functions that involves the majority of organisms. The time-dependent accretion of cellular lesions is generally a universal trigger of aging, while mitochondrial dysfunction is a sign of aging. Dysfunctional mitochondria are identified and removed by mitophagy, a selective form of macroautophagy. Increased mitochondrial damage resulting from reduced biogenesis and clearance may promote the aging process. The primary purpose of this paper is to illustrate in detail the effects of mitophagy on aging and emphasize the associations between mitophagy and other signs of aging, including dietary restriction, telomere shortening, epigenetic alterations, and protein imbalance.The evidence regarding the effects of these elements on aging is still limited. And although the understanding of relationship between mitophagy and aging has been long-awaited, to analyze details of such a relationship remains the main challenge in aging studies.

Background:While a COVID-19 vaccine protects people from serious illness and death,it remains a concern when and how to lift the high-cost and strict non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs).This study examined the joint efect of vaccine coverage and NPIs on the control of local and sporadic resurgence of COVID-19 cases.Methods:Between July 2021 and January 2022,we collected the large-scale testing information and case number of imported COVID-19 patients from the website of the National Health Commission of China.A compartment model was developed to identify the level of vaccine coverage that would allow safe relaxation of NPIs,and vaccination strategies that can best achieve this level of coverage.We applied Monte Carlo simulation 50000 times to remove random fuctuation efects and obtain ftted/predicted epidemic curve based on various parameters with 95% confdence interval at each time point.Results:We found that a vaccination coverage of 50.4% was needed for the safe relaxation of NPIs,if the vaccine efectiveness was 79.3%.The total number of incidence cases under the key groups frstly strategy was 10^(3) times higher than that of accelerated vaccination strategy.It needed 35 months to fully relax NPIs if the key groups frstly strategy was implemented,and 27 months were needed with the accelerated vaccination strategy.If combined the two strategies,only 8 months are needed to achieve the vaccine coverage threshold for the fully relaxation of NPIs.Sensitivity analyses results shown that the higher the transmission rate of the virus and the lower annual vaccine supply,the more difcult the epidemic could be under control.When the transmission rate increased 25% or the vaccination efectiveness rate decreased 20%,33 months were needed to reduce the number of total incidence cases below 1000.Conclusions:As vaccine coverage improves,the NPIs can be gradually relaxed.Until that threshold is reached,however,strict NPIs are still needed to control the epidemic.The more transmissible SARS-CoV-2 variant led to higher resurg

Deformation characteristics and damage ontologies of soft and hard composite rock masses under impact loading

As one of the most common occurring geological landforms in deep rock formations, the dynamic mechanical properties of layered composite rock bodies under impact loading have been widely studied by scholars. To study the dynamic properties of soft and hard composite rocks with different thickness ratios, this paper utilizes cement, quartz sand and gypsum powder to construct soft and hard composite rock specimens and utilizes a combination of indoor tests, numerical calculations, and theoretical analyses to investigate the mechanical properties of soft and hard composite rock bodies. The test results reveal that:(1) When the proportion of hard rock increases from 20% to 50%, the strength of the combined rock body increases by 69.14 MPa and 87 MPa when the hard rock face and soft rock face are loaded, respectively;however, when the proportion of hard rock is the same, the compressive strength of the hard rock face impact is 9%-17% greater than that of the soft rock face impact;(2) When a specimen of soft and hard combined rock body is subjected to impact loading, the damage mode involves mixed tension and shear damage, and the cracks generally first appear at the ends of the specimen, then develop on the laminar surface from the impact surface, and finally end in the overall damage of the soft rock part. The development rate and the total number of cracks in the same specimen when the hard rock face is impacted are significantly greater than those when the soft rock face is impacted;(3) By introducing Weibull’s statistical strength theory to establish the damage variables of soft-hard combined rock bodies, combined with the DP strength criterion, the damage model and the Kelvin body are concatenated to obtain a statistical damage constitutive model, which can better fit the full stress-strain curve of soft-hard combined rock body specimens under a single impact load.

Magnetotactic bacteria(MTB) are a group of phylogenetically and morphologically diverse prokaryotes that have the capability of sensing Earth’s magnetic field via nanocrystals of magnetic iron minerals.These crystals are enclosed within intracellular membranes or organelles known as magnetosomes and enable a sensing function known as magnetotaxis.Although MTB were discovered over half a century ago,the study of the magnetosome biogenesis and organization remains limited to a few cultured MTB strains.Here,we present an integrative genomic and phenomic analysis to investigate the genetic basis of magnetosome biomineralization in both cultured and uncultured strains from phylogenetically diverse MTB groups.The magnetosome gene contents/networks of strains are correlated with magnetic particle morphology and chain configuration.We propose a general model for gene networks that control/regulate magnetosome biogenesis and chain assembly in MTB systems.

To the Editor:Primary vaginal carcinoma is a rare malignant disease,which represents only approximately 1%to 2%of female genital malignancies.Vaginal adenosis is defined by the presence of metaplastic cervical or endometrial epithelium within the vaginal wall,and is associated with a high risk of vaginal carcinoma.In women prenatally exposed to diethylstilboestrol(DES),vaginal adenosis may arise in up to 90%,and these are often associated with vaginal clear cell adenocarcinoma.[1]DES is an orally active non-steroidal estrogen.The Food and Drug Administration began a clinical trial in 1943,and concluded that DES administration is beneficial for preventing premature deliveries and miscarriages.[2]In addition to primary vaginal clear cell carcinoma(PVCCC),in-uterus exposure to DES can also lead to T-shaped uterus anomaly.[3]In the Chinese population,PVCCC is an uncommon malignancy,and there are no reports on the relationship between PVCCC and DES exposure.[4]Given the rarity of PVCCC,it is significant to analyze relevant cases,and provide some valuable information for future clinical and basic studies.Therefore,the present study described ten cases of PVCCC,and summarized the characteristics of the diagnosis,management,and prognosis of these patients.
