Objective:To explore the effect and mechanism of action of Celastrus paniculatus oil on the treatment of perinatal rats with attention deficit hyperactivity ***:In the perinatal stage,the rats were either isolated or administered with lead acetate to establish an animal model of attention deficit hyperactivity *** served as the reference ***’behaviours were assessed through Y-maze,novel object preference,fear conditioning and residentintruder aggression *** stress parameters,bioamine concentration(dopamine,noradrenaline and 5-hydroxytryptamine),nerve growth factor,interleukin-6,nuclear factor-κB,and tumour necrosis factor(TNF)-αwere *** immunohistochemical assay was ***:Celastrus paniculatus oil significantly improved behavioural parameters in Y maze,novel object preference,discrimination index,fear conditioning and resident intruder aggressive *** treatment groups showed a decrease in malondialdehyde *** in the levels of dopamine,noradrenaline,and serotonin were restored by Celastrus paniculatus *** paniculatus oil increased nerve growth factor and decreased interleukin-6,nuclear factor-κB,and TNF-α.synaptophysin immunoreactivity was also improved by Celastrus paniculatus oil with alleviated reactive gliosis,degeneration,and vascular ***:This research shows the therapeutic potential of Celastrus paniculatus oil for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Background:Bite mark identification is based on the individuality of a dentition and helps in identifying the *** use of three-dimensional(3D)analysis of forensic evidence is highlighted in comparison with traditional *** has been used in registering bite mark on food *** our knowledge this is the first study where CBCT is used to register bite mark from human *** and Objective:To signify the potential of CBCT in registering and analysing the bite mark on human skin and to analyse various identifying *** and Method:60 subjects of either sex were asked to bite their own forearm and alginate impression of the maxillary and mandible dentition was taken and cast was *** bitemark and cast was subjected to CBCT scanning and parameters like arch shape,inter canine width,mesio distal dimension of anterior teeth,and individual characteristics like rotation,buccal/lingual tilting of teeth was noted and compared and assigned a score using simplified version ofABFO scoring ***:Highly significant result with 56.6%definite match,26.66%probable match and 16.66%possible match were obtained using ***:CBCT is a non-destructive,accurate,efficient,objective and reproducible *** of all parameter mesio-distal dimension of teeth is the best parameter to judge the bitemark on skin.

Objective:To investigate the neuroprotective effect of C-phycocyanin in a mouse model of rotenone-induced Parkinson’s ***:C-phycocyanin(50 mg/kg,i.p.,daily)was administered to rotenone(30 mg/kg,p.o.,daily)treated mice for 28 *** studies(Y-maze,rotarod,round beam walk,and wire-hang tests)were carried out to assess neurobehavioral *** and malondialdehyde were determined in both serum and striatal *** proteins(AKT,AMPK,NF-κB,BDNF,and alpha-synuclein)in the striatum were estimated using *** analyses(hematoxylin and eosin stainning as well as Nissl staining)were carried out to assess structural abnormalities in the ***:C-phycocyanin significantly increased BDNF levels and decreased alpha-synuclein *** also slightly upregulated AMPK and AKT levels without significant difference compared with the rotenone ***,rotenone-induced elevated oxidative stress and structural abnormalities in the striatum were markedly mitigated by ***:C-phycocyanin might have potential neuroprotective effects against Parkinson’s *** studies are warranted to verify its efficacy and to understand the molecular mechanisms behind the neuroprotective effects of C-phycocyanin in Parkinson’s disease.

Aims: The purpose of this study was to determine the sex of primary and permanent tooth pulp tissue under different environmental conditions using deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) analysis and the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification method. Materials and Methods: For this study, 40 permanent and primary teeth (20 males and 20 females) that were scheduled for extraction were used. For 6 months, the teeth were divided into four groups of ten (5 males and 5 females) based on different environmental conditions. The pulp was extracted from each tooth, DNA was isolated using QIAGEN’s DNeasy Blood and Tissue Kit, and sex was determined using a PCR technique. Results: DNA was extracted from all 40 samples subjected to various environmental conditions, but sex was correctly determined in only 90% of the samples. Conclusions: PCR-based sex determination using primary and permanent teeth under different environmental conditions for up to 6 months is a reliable technique with high accuracy.

Nibrin expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma:association with clinicopathological parameters

Aim:The present study sought to discover the role of Nibrin protein in 100 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma(OsCC)and its potential relationship with clinicopathological ***:Nibrin expression was evaluated immunohistochemically using the modified H-score ***:The present study included 20%of patients with stage I disease,22%of patients with stage II disease,18%of patients with stage III disease,and 40%of patients with stage IV *** showed a significant positive correlation with moderately/poorly differentiated tumor tissues(P=0.028),while significant inverse correlation of Nibrin expression was observed with tumor size(P=0.018)and tumor stage(P=0.039).Further,using univariate survival analysis it was observed that strong Nibrin expression was significantly associated with disease relapse in early stage OsCC patients(P=0.049).Conclusion:Thus,the present study revealed that Nibrin could be used as a prognostic marker in patients with early stage OsCC.

Background:India reports the highest number of tuberculosis(TB)cases *** has a dual impact as it increases the risk of TB and exposes the poor to economic hardship when they develop *** objective was to estimate the costs incurred by patients with drug-susceptible TB in Bhavnagar(western India)using an adapted World Health Organization costing ***:We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study of adults,notified in the public sector and being treated for drug-susceptible pulmonary TB during January-June 2019,in six urban and three rural blocks of Bhavnagar region,Gujarat state,*** direct and indirect TB-related costs,as well as patients’coping strategies,were assessed for the overall care of TB till treatment *** costs were defined as total costs>20%of annual household income(excluding any amount received from cash transfer programs or borrowed).Median and interquartile range(IQR)was used to summarize patient *** median costs between any two groups were compared using the median *** association between any two categorical variables was tested by the Pearson chi-squared *** costs were described in Us dollars(UsD).During the study period,on average,one UsD equalled 70 Indian ***:Of 458 patients included,70%were male,62%had no formal education,71%lived in urban areas,and 96%completed TB *** median(IQR)total costs were UsD 8(5-28),direct medical costs were UsD 0(0-0),direct non-medical costs were UsD 3(2-4)and indirect costs were UsD 6(3-13).Among direct non-medical costs,travel cost(median=UsD 3,IQR:2-4)to attend health facilities were the most prominent,whereas the indirect costs were mainly contributed by the patient’s loss of wages(median=UsD 3,IQR:0-6).Four percent of patients faced catastrophic costs,11%borrowed money to cover costs and 7%lost their employment;the median working days lost to TB was 30(IQR:15-45).A majority(88%)of patients received a median UsD 43(IQR:41-43)a
