Aphids are major insect pests in agriculture and forestry *** attacks by natural enemies,many aphids release an alarm pheromone to protect their *** most aphids,the main component of the aphid alarm pheromone(AAP)is the sesquiterpene hydrocarbon(E)-β-farnesene(EβF).However,the mechanisms behind its biosynthesis and regulation remain poorly *** this study,we used the bird cherry–oat aphid Rhopalosiphum padi,which is an important wheat aphid,to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of EβF *** results showed that EβF biosynthesis occurs during the mature embryo period and the molting period of the 1st-and 2nd-instar *** provide the prerequisite material for EβF production and *** on transcriptome sequencing,RNAi analysis,hormone treatments,and quantitative measurements,we found that the biosynthesis of EβF utilizes acetyl coenzyme A produced from fatty acid degradation,which can be suppressed by juvenile hormone but it is promoted by 20-hydroxyecdysone through the modulation of fatty acid *** is the first systemic study on the modulation of EβF production in *** results of our study provide insights into the molecular regulatory mechanisms of AAP biosynthesis,as well as valuable information for designing potential aphid control strategies.

The three-orbit constellation can comprehensively increase the spatial coverage of polar-orbiting satellites,but the polar-orbiting satellites currently in operation are only mid-morning-orbit and afternoon-orbit ***-3E(FY-3E)was launched successfully on 5 July 2021 in *** an early-morning-orbit satellite,FY-3E can help form a complete three-orbit observation system together with the mid-morning and afternoon satellites in the current mainstream operational *** this study,we investigate the added benefit of FY-3E microwave sounding observations to the midmorning-orbit Meteorological Operational satellite-B(Met Op-B)and afternoon-orbit Fengyun-3D(FY-3D)microwave observations in the Chinese Meteorological Administration global forecast system(CMA-GFS).The results show that the additional FY-3E microwave temperature sounder-3(MWTS-3)and microwave humidity sounder-2(MWHS-2)data can increase the global coverage of microwave temperature and humidity sounding data by 14.8% and 10.6%,*** enables the CMA-GFS to achieve nearly 100% global coverage of microwave-sounding observations at each analysis ***,after effective quality control and bias correction,the global biases and standard deviations of the differences between observations and model simulations are also *** on the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit A and the Microwave Humidity Sounder onboard Met Op-B,and the MWTS-2 and MWHS-2 onboard FY-3D,adding the microwave sounding data of FY-3E can further reduce the errors of analysis results and improve the global prediction skills of CMA-GFS,especially for the southern-hemisphere forecasts within 96 hours,all of which are significant at the 95% confidence level.

BACKGROUND Regarding the incidence of malignant tumors in China,the incidence of liver cancer ranks fourth,second only to lung,gastric,and esophageal *** case fatality rate ranks third after lung and cervical *** a previous study,the whole-process management model was applied to patients with breast cancer,which effectively reduced their negative emotions and improved treatment adherence and nursing *** In this single-center,randomized,controlled study,60 randomly selected patients with liver cancer who had been admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to January 2022 were randomly divided into an observation group(n=30),who received whole-process case management on the basis of routine nursing mea-sures,and a control group(n=30),who were given routine nursing *** compared differences between the two groups in terms of anxiety,depression,the level of hope,self-care ability,symptom distress,sleep quality,and quality of *** Post-intervention,Hamilton anxiety scale,Hamilton depression scale,memory symptom assessment scale,and Pittsburgh sleep quality index scores in both groups were lower than those pre-intervention,and the observation group had lower scores than the control group(Plity assessment scale-revision in Chinese,and quality of life measurement scale for patients with liver cancer scores in both groups were higher than those pre-intervention,with higher scores in the observation group compared with the control group(Pliver cancer,alleviate symptoms and problems,and improve the level of hope,self-care ability,sleep quality,and quality of life,as well as provide feasible nursing alternatives for patients with liver cancer.

Tetrabromobisphenol A exerts thyroid disrupting effects but has little overt impact on postnatal brain development and neurobehaviors in mice

Tetrabromobisphenol A(TBBPA)is a widely used brominated flame *** is evidence showing that TBBPA can exert thyroid disrupting effects in mammals,but different results were also reported,along with inconsistent reports regarding its ***,we investigated thyroid disrupting effects and neurotoxicity of TBBPA(5,50,500μg/(kg·day))to male mice following maternal and direct exposure through drinking water,with the antithyroid drug propylthiouracil(PTU)as the positive *** postnatal day(PND)15,we expectedly observed severe thyroid compensatory hyperplasia and cerebellar developmental retardation in PTU-treated *** highest dose of TBBPA also caused thyroid histological alteration but had no effects on cerebellar development in terms of Purkinje cell morphology and the thickness of the internal granular layer and the molecular layer of the *** puberty and adulthood,the thyroid morphological alterations became more pronounced in the TBBPA-treated animals,accompanied by decreased serum thyroid hormone ***,the 50 and 500μg/(kg·day)TBBPA groups showed a significant decrease in the serum level of serotonin,a neurotransmitter associated with anxiety ***,the highest dose group displayed anxiety-like behaviors in the elevated plus-maze test on PND 35,but this neurobehavioral alteration disappeared on PND ***,no changes in neurobehavioral parameters tested were found in TBBPAtreated animals at puberty and ***,all observations show that TBBPA can exert thyroid disrupting effects but has little overt impact on brain development and neurobehaviors in mice,suggesting that thyroid disruption does not necessarily cause overtly adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes.

To enhance the catalytic activity of copper ferrite(CuFe_(2)O_(4))nanoparticle and promote its application as combustion catalyst,a low-cost silicon dioxide(SiO_(2))carrier was employed to construct a novel CuFe_(2)O_(4)/SiO_(2)binary composites via solvothermal *** phase structure,morphology and catalytic activity of CuFe_(2)O_(4)/SiO_(2)composites were studied firstly,and thermal decomposition,combustion and safety performance of ammonium perchlorate(AP)and 1,3,5-trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine(RDX)with it affecting were then systematically *** results show that CuFe_(2)O_(4)/SiO_(2)composite can remarkably either advance the decomposition peak temperature of AP and RDX,or reduce the apparent activation energy at their main decomposition ***,the flame propagation rate of RDX was promoted by about 2.73 times with SiO_(2)content of 3 wt%,and safety property of energetic component was also improved greatly,in which depressing the electrostatic discharge sensitivity of pure RDX by about 1.89 *** addition,the effective range of SiO_(2)carrier content in the binary catalyst is found to be 3 to 5 wt%.Therefore,SiO_(2)opens a new insight on the design of combustion catalyst carrier and will promote the application of CuFe_(2)O_(4)catalyst in solid propellant.

Background:Given the recent updates in cancer burden estimates by GLOBOCAN 2022,this study was undertaken to provide pertinent perspectives within the context of the Human Development Index(HDI)and major world ***:Datasets sourced from GLOBOCAN encompassed cancer cases and deaths across all cancer types in 2022,alongside projections up to *** incidences and deaths of the top 10 cancers within China and four distinct HDI-classified regions were compared using descriptive ***-standardized incidence rates(ASIRs)and mortality rates(ASMRs)worldwide for the most prevalent cancers in 2022 across ten largest economies and four-tier HDIs were *** top five cancer types concerning both incidence and mortality in China were delineated by sex and age ***:In males,prostate cancer predominated in countries with low,high(except China),and very high *** and liver cancers were prominent causes of death in countries with low *** females,breast and cervical cancers predominated in countries with low-to-medium *** and colorectal cancer incidence and deaths increased with high HDI for both *** and ASMRs for breast,prostate,lung,and colorectal cancers in the top 10 economies were higher than the global ***,liver,stomach,and cervical cancers in most Western countries exhibited lower *** China,hematologic malignancies(43%)were prevalent among children aged 0-14 years,whereas thyroid cancer led among adolescents and young adults aged 15-39 *** incidence and mortality,lung cancer predominated for individuals over 40 years,except for females aged 40-59 years,in whom breast cancer *** trends indicated substantial increases in new cancer cases(76.6%)and deaths(89.7%)over the next three ***:Infection-and poverty-related cancer burdens are offset by increased prostate,breast,colorectal,and lung cancer incidence associated with rapid societal and economic transi

Reducing the aerodynamic drag and noise levels of high-speed pantographs is important for promoting environmentally friendly,energy efficient and rapid advances in train *** computational fluid dynamics theory and the K-FWH acoustic equation,a numerical simulation is conducted to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of high-speed pantographs.A component optimization method is proposed as a possible solution to the problemof aerodynamic drag and noise in high-speed *** results of the study indicate that the panhead,base and insulator are the main contributors to aerodynamic drag and noise in high-speed ***,a gradual optimization process is implemented to improve the most significant components that cause aerodynamic drag and *** optimizing the cross-sectional shape of the strips and insulators,the drag and noise caused by airflow separation and vortex shedding can be *** aerodynamic drag of insulator with circular cross section and strips with rectangular cross section is the *** insulators and optimizing the chamfer angle and height of the windward surface of the strips can improve the aerodynamic performance of the *** addition,the streamlined fairing attached to the base can eliminate the complex flow and shield the radiated *** contrast to the original pantograph design,the improved pantograph shows a 21.1%reduction in aerodynamic drag and a 1.65 dBA reduction in aerodynamic noise.

Autophagy involves the sequestration and delivery of cytoplasmic materials to lysosomes,where proteins,lipids,and organelles are degraded and *** to the way the cytoplasmic components are engulfed,autophagy can be divided into macroautophagy,microautophagy,and chaperone-mediated ***,many studies have found that autophagy plays an important role in neurological diseases,including Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease,Huntington's disease,neuronal excitotoxicity,and cerebral *** maintains cell homeostasis in the nervous system via degradation of misfolded proteins,elimination of damaged organelles,and regulation of apoptosis and ***-mTOR,Beclin 1,TP53,endoplasmic reticulum stress,and other signal pathways are involved in the regulation of autophagy and can be used as potential therapeutic targets for neurological ***,we discuss the role,functions,and signal pathways of autophagy in neurological diseases,which will shed light on the pathogenic mechanisms of neurological diseases and suggest novel targets for therapies.
