Particulate bone plays a crucial role in various oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including reconstruction, implantation, and craniofacial surgery. Autologous bone and deproteinized bovine bone xenografts are the two primary resources used for such procedures, with the former demonstrating superior cost-effectiveness and reduced comorbidity rates, particularly in cases involving donor zones. However, a significant challenge lies in acquiring uniformly sized autologous particulate bone specimens, with existing tools often yielding coarse particles at a high cost. Consequently, commercial bone xenograft solutions are frequently favored despite lower standards. This technical note introduces a novel technique for swiftly, safely, and efficiently obtaining autologous particulate bone specimens. The procedure involves the use of a motor handpiece fitted with a micro drill and surgical spoon to collect the bone particles. The continuous irrigation with saline maintains a clear surgical field during the milling process. The collected bone particles are then transferred to a metal capsule for further use. This technique offers a promising solution to the challenge of inconsistent particle size associated with harvesting using traditional methods, providing surgeons with a reliable and efficient method of obtaining autologous particulate bone samples.

nipa palm is one of the non-wood plants rich in lignocellulosic *** this study,palm fronds were converted into activated carbon,and their physical,chemical,and morphological properties were *** resulting activated carbon was then applied as an adsorbent of Fe metal in peat *** carbonization process was carried out for 60 min,followed by sintering at 400℃ for 5 h with a particle size of 200 *** and H_(3)PO_(4) were used in the chemical activation process for 24 ***-activated carbon contained 6.13%of moisture,4.55%of ash,17.02%of volatile matter,and 78.84%of fixed carbon,while its Fe reduction efficiency was 28.09%.The H_(3)PO_(4)-activated carbon contained 4.67%of moisture,2.84%of ash,16.41%of volatile matter,and 80.57%of bonded carbon,and the Fe reduction efficiency was 52.25%.KOH-activated carbon and H_(3)PO_(4)-activated carbon contained fixed carbon of 78.84%and 80.57%,respectively,while their average rates of efficiency of Fe reduction were 22.82%and 39.23%,***,the characteristics of activated nipa carbon met the Indonesian standards(SnI no.06-3730-1995).However,H_(3)PO_(4)-activated carbon was found to be better at adsorbing Fe metal from peat water.

Background Extracellular vesicles(EVs) present in oviductal(OF) and uterine fluid(UF) have been shown to enhance bovine embryo quality during in vitro culture by reducing lipid contents and modulating lipid metabolism-related genes(LMGs), while also influencing cell proliferation, suggesting their involvement on the regulation of different biological pathways. The regulation of signaling pathways related to cell differentiation, proliferation, and metabo-lism is crucial for early embryo development and can determine the success or failure of the pregnancy. Bioactive molecules within EVs in maternal reproductive fluids, such as micro RnAs(miRnAs), may contribute to this regulatory process as they modulate gene expression through post-transcriptional *** This study evaluated miRnA cargo in OF-EVs from the early luteal phase and UF-EVs from the mid-luteal phase, coinciding with embryo transit within oviduct and uterus in vivo, and its possible influence on LMGs and sign-aling pathways crucial for early embryo development. A total of 333 miRnAs were detected, with 11 exclusive to OF, 59 to UF, and 263 were common between both groups. From the 20 differentially expressed miRnAs, 19 up-regulated in UF-EVs(bta-miR-134, bta-miR-151-3p, bta-miR-155, bta-miR-188, bta-miR-181b, bta-miR-181d, bta-miR-224, bta-miR-23b-3p, bta-miR-24-3p, bta-miR-27a-3p, bta-miR-29a, bta-miR-324, bta-miR-326, bta-miR-345-3p, bta-miR-410, bta-miR-652, bta-miR-677, bta-miR-873 and bta-miR-708) and one(bta-miR-148b) in OF-EVs. Half-metallic ferromagnetism,mechanical as well as thermoelectric properties for rare earth-based spinels MgHo_(2)Z_(4)(Z=S,Se)were investigated using density functional theory(DFT).Structural optimization was done with Perdew-Burke-Ehrenzorf(PBE)sol-generalized gradient approximation(GGA)to calculate the lattice constant of both spinels comparable to experimental *** addition,Born stability criteria and negative formation energy show that our studied spinels are also structurally and dynamically stable in the cubic *** ferromagnetic(FM)state stability,we also calculated the energy differences among FM,antiferromagnetic(AFM),and non-magnetic(nM)***,Curie temperatures of ferromagnetic phases were also *** used Trans-Blaha improved BeckeJohnson(TB-mBJ)potential functional for electronics as well as magnetic characteristics,which lead to the consistent explanation of half-metallic ferromagnetism,representing the whole band-occupancy in material with exact detail of density of states(DOS).The stable FM state was examined in spinels due to the exchange splitting of Ho cation consisting of p-d hybridizations compatible with the result achieved for electronics band structure and ***,spin magnetic moment was explained in terms of anion,cation,and sharing charge on studied *** addition,the calculated thermoelectric properties clearly show that operation range of these systems may be utilized by future experimental works for identifying the potential applications of these systems.

Ion-conducting Membranes Based on Bacterial Cellulose nanofibers Modified by Poly(sodium acrylate-co-2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid)

Green method for preparation of ion-conducting membranes(ICM) based on bacterial cellulose nanofibers(CnF) modified by a copolymer of sodium acrylate and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid was elaborated. FTIR and nMR data confirmed grafting of polyacrylate onto cellulose surface. Formation of porous structure of the ICM was controlled by SEM and AFM. The maximal ionic conductivity of the membranes reaches 1.5 and 3.1 mS·cm^(-1)(60 ℃ and 98% relative humidity) when they are saturated with water or H_2SO_4(1 mol·L^(-1)) electrolyte,respectively. Prepared ICM was tested as a separator in a symmetrical supercapacitor with electrodes based on polyaniline hydrogel. The assembled cell demonstrate ability to operate at high current density up to 100 A·g^(-1) maintaining specific capacitance 165 F·g^(-1). Maximal specific capacitance of 289 F·g^(-1) was achieved at current density 1 A·g^(-1). Retaining of 90% of initial capacitance after 10000 of charge-discharge cycles proves high electrochemical stability of prepared ICM.
