In geology, classification and lithological recognition of rocks plays an important role in the area of oil and gas exploration, mineral exploration and geological analysis. In other fields of activity such as construction and decoration, this classification makes sense and fully plays its role. However, this classification is slow, approximate and subjective. Automatic classification curbs this subjectivity and fills this gap by offering methods that reflect human perception. We propose a new approach to rock classification based on direct-view images of rocks. the aim is to take advantage of feature extraction methods to estimate a rock dictionary. In this work, we have developed a classification method obtained by concatenating four (4) K-SVD variants into a single signature. this method is based on the K-SVD algorithm combined with four (4) feature extraction techniques: DCt, Gabor filters, D-ALBpCSF and G-ALBpCSF, resulting in the four (4) variants named K-Gabor, K-DCt, KD-ALBpCSF and KD-ALBpCSF respectively. In this work, we developed a classification method obtained by concatenating four (4) variants of K-SVD. the performance of our method was evaluated on the basis of performance indicators such as accuracy with other 96% success rate.

New tetraazamacrocyclic ligand with 1,4,7,10 tetrakis(4 nitrobenzyl) pendent groups (C 36 H 40 N 8o 8, M r =712.76) crystallized in the monoclinic system, p2 1/n space group with unit cell parameters: a=7.834(2), b=22.902(6), c=10\^147(3), β=106.53(2)°, V=1745(1) 3, Z=2, D c =1.356 g/cm 3, λ (Mo Kα )=0.71069; μ =0.92cm -1 , F(000)=752, t =296K. the final r and r w values are 0\^065 and 0.066, respectively. the Cu(Ⅱ), Ni(Ⅱ), Co(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ) complexes with this new ligand have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, Ir, UV, ESI MS and molar conductance. the macrocyclic ligand molecular structure is centrosymmetrical. All complexes are in accordance with the general formula: M(L)(No 3) 2·nH 2o (M=Co, Ni, Cu, n=2; M=Zn, n=4; L=C 36 H 40 \|N 8o 8). the central metal ions coordinate to four nitrogen atoms of azamacrocycle and two oxygen atoms of one nitrate ion. preliminary pharmacological tests against p 388 and A 549 tumor cell lines showed that all these complexes had considerable activities in vitro.

Hepatitis B virus （HBV） reactivation and recurrence are common in patients undergoing immunosuppression therapy. tumor necrosis factor （tNF） blockage therapy is effective for the treatment of many autoimmune inflammatory diseases. However, the role of tNF-a blockage therapy in the innate and adaptive immune responses against HBV is still not clear. A detailed analysis of HBV infection under tNF-a blockage therapy is essential for the prophylaxis and therapy for HBV reactivation and recurrence. In this study, HBV clearance and t-cell responses were analyzed in a HBV-transfected mouse model under anti-tNF blockage therapy. our results demonstrated that under tNF-a blockage therapy, HBV viral clearance was impaired with persistent elevated HBV viral load in a dose- and temporal-dependent manner. the impairment of HBV clearance under anti-tNF-a blockage therapy occurred at early time points after HBV infection. In addition, tNF-a blockade maintained a higher serum HBV viral load and increased the number of intrahepatic programmed cell death （pD）- 1highCD127low exhausted t cells. Furthermore, tNF-a blockade abolished toll-like receptor 9 （tLr9） ligand-induced facilitation of HBV viral clearance. taken together, tNF-a blockade impairs HBV clearance and enhances viral load, and these effects depend on early administration after HBV infection. our results here demonstrate that early tNF-a blockade reduces viral clearance and persistently maintains elevated HBV viral load in a mouse model, suggesting that HBV may reactivate during theraoy with tNF-a-blocking agents.

persistent hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection results in chronic liver diseases that may progress to chronic hepatitis,liver cirrhosis,and subsequent hepatocellular *** studies demonstrated that adaptive immunity,in particular CD8 t cells,is critical in HBV *** studies have revealed a distinct tissue-localized t cell lineage,tissue-resident memory(trM)cells,that is crucial for protective immunity in peripheral *** this study,we showed that treatment with an anti-asialo GM1(ASGM1)antibody(Ab),which depletes NK cells,led to impairment of HBV clearance in a mouse animal ***,the ability to clear HBV was not significantly impaired in NFIL3 Ko mice,which are deficient in NK cells,implying that other non-NK ASGM1-positive immune cells mediate HBV *** isolated intrahepatic ASGM1-positive cells from NFIL3 Ko mice and analyzed the immune phenotype of these *** results demonstrated a distinct population of CD44+LFA-1hi CD8 t cells that were the major intrahepatic ASGM1-positive immune cells in NFIL3 Ko ***,transcriptome analysis revealed that these ASGM1-positive CD8 t cells had distinct gene profiles and shared a similar core gene signature with trM *** addition to both transcriptional and phenotypic liver residency characteristics,ASGM1-positive CD8 t cells were able to home to and be retained in the liver after adoptive *** together,our study results indicate that these ASGM1-positive liver-resident CD8 t cells are the major effector immune cells mediating anti-HBV immunity.

Cyclic responses of three 2-story seismic concentrically braced frames

three full scale two-story steel concentrically braced frames(CBFs)were tested at the National Center for research on Earthquake Engineering(NCrEE)in *** specimen is a single bay with the braces arranged in a two-story X-brace *** main differences among the three tests are the brace types(hollow structural or wide-flange section)and the design criteria adopted for the gusset plate *** of these three tests confirm that the two-story X-shape steel CBFs all have rather good energy dissipation characteristics up to a story drift of about 0.03 radians under the cyclically increasing lateral *** brace local buckling and out-of-plane displacements were observed during each *** confirm that both the 2tlinear and 8t-elliptical designs of the gusset plate connection provide satisfactory ductility for the steel *** structural section(HSS)braces fractured at a story drift smaller than that found using wide flange *** nonlinear fine element method(FEM)program ABAQUS was used to simulate the responses of the *** base shear versus the story drift relationships obtained from the tests and the FEM analytical results are quite agreeable in various levels of lateral frame *** analytical results confirm that the severe out-of-plane buckling of the braces can be accurately *** analyses also illustrate that the steel moment resisting frame takes about 40%story shear when the inter-story drift is greater than 0.02 radians.

Consumption of purple sweet potato leaves modulates human immune response: t-lymphocyte functions, lytic activity of natural killer cell and antibody production

AIM： to study the immunological effects of physiologica doses of purple sweet potato leaves （pSpL）. MEtHoDS： the randomized crossover study （two periods, each lasting for 2 wk） involved 16 healthy non-smoking adults of normal weight. the 6-wk study consisted of a run-in （wk 1） pSpL diet （daily consumption of 200 g pSpL） or a control diet （low polyphenols, with the amount of carotenoids adjusted to the same level as that of pSpL）（wk 2-3）, washout diet （wk 4）, and switched diet （wk 5-6）. Fasting blood was collected weekly in the morning. t-lymphocyte function was assessed via the proliferation and secretion of immunoreactive cytokines. Salivary IgA secretion and the specific cytotoxic activities of cytotoxic t lymphocytes and natural killer （NK） cells were determined. rESULtS： the plasma 13-carotene level increased with time in both groups, while the plasma polyphenol level decreased in the control group, and no significant difference was detected between the two groups. Although p^asma polyphenol levels did not significantly increase in the pSpL group at the end of the study, they were significantly elevated in urine. pSpL consumption produced a significant increase in proliferation responsiveness of peripheral blood mononuclear cells （pBMC） and their secretion of immunoreactive IL-2 and IL-4. As well, lytic activity in NK cells was elevated in a time-dependent fashion. Salivary IgA secretion significantly decreased in control group after 2 wk, and returned to baseline following dietary switch to pSpL. CoNCLUSIoN： Consumption of pSpL modulates various immune functions including increased proliferation responsiveness of pBMC, secretion of cytokines IL-2 and IL-4, and the lytic activity of NK cells. the responsible determinants of pSpL remain to be elucidated, as does the biological significance of the present observations.

the goal of this study was to analyze microbial mats and biofilms from the lower supratidal area of the Bahía Blanca estuary (Argentina), and explore their relationship with sediments and other physical forcings. thirteen monthly sediment samples (uppermost 10 mm) were taken and their composition and abundance in microorganisms was determined by microscopy. physical parameters (solar radiation and sediment temperature at -5 cm) were recorded with a frequency of 5 minutes by a coastal environmental monitoring station. Additionally, sediment grain size and moisture content were determined for distinct layers in the uppermost20 mm, and the rate of inundation of the supratidal area was estimated from tidal gauge measurements. there were significant seasonal differences in the biomass of the microphytobenthic groups considered (filamentous cyanobacteria and epipelic diatoms), with the former consistently making up >70% of the total biomass. the relationships between microphytobenthos and sediment temperature and solar radiation fitted to linear regressions, and consistently showed an inverse relationship between microphytobenthic abundance and either one of the physical parameters. the granulometric analysis revealed a unimodal composition of muddy sediments, which were vertically and spatially homogeneous;additionally, there were significant seasonal differences in water content loss with drying conditions prevailing in the summer. Several Microbially-Induced Sedimentary Structures (MISS) were identified in the supratidal zone such as shrinkage cracks, erosional pockets, gas domes, photosynthetic domes, mat chips and sieve-like surfaces. In contrast to studies from analogous environments in the Northern Hemisphere, we found reduced microphytobenthic biomass in summer, which were explained by increased evaporation/desiccation rates as a consequence of increased radiation, despite frequent tidal inundation.
