highly pure red phosphors LiM(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)(M=Sr,ca) doped with Eu^(3+)(1 mol%) were synthesized via solution combustion method and their crystal structure and luminescence dynamics were studied to explore its suitability in white light emitting *** Rietveld refinement analysis of the powder Xray diffraction patterns reveals that the phosphors belong to the pure triclinic phase of LiSr(PO_(3))_(3) and Lica(PO_(3)) with space group P-1(2).The scanning electron microscopy images showed the agglomerated *** photoluminescence emission spectra under 393 nm show an orange band at 594 nm and a red band at 613 nm ascribed to ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(1).^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(2) transitions of Eu^(3+)ion in both the ***,the spectroscopic properties such as luminescence behaviour,and Stark splitting were used to examine the symmetry of Eu^(3+)ions in LiM(PO_(3))_(3):Es^(3+)(M=Sr,ca) phosphors in terms of distortion induced upon *** Stark splitting shows that the actual site symmetry for Eu^(3+)ion was estimated to be D_(2) type for both *** photometric properties of Lica(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)such as commission International de l'Eclairage coordinates(x=0.64,y=0.36) near to the standard one(red),high color purity(95%) and higher brightness reveal that the phosphor has the capability of acting as a red component in n-UV white light emitting diodes.

Due to the non-linearity in ozone(O_(3))formation,reducing the emission of nitrogen oxides(NO_(x))may increase O_(3) *** the counteractive O_(3) response to NO_(x) reduction,overall impact of air pollution controls can be ambiguous when the assessments focus on the changes in pollutant *** this study,a risk-based method was used to gauge the net effect of air pollution controls on mortality risk in the Beijing–Tianjin–hebei(BTh)region during the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics(WOP).This mega-event presents a unique opportunity to investigate the efficacy of deep cuts in pollutant *** show that O_(3) concentrations greatly increased as nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2))concentrations decreased in the *** to the active photochemical formations,O_(3) became the dominant pollutant that affected human health during the *** the substantial O_(3) increases,the health benefits of NO_(2) reductions overwhelmed the adverse health effects of O_(3) increases in most regions of the BTh(at 81 out of 112 stations).After considering the impacts of particulate matter,the integrated health risk of air pollution mixtures declined almost everywhere in the *** results underscore the great necessity of changing the assessment paradigm of pollution control from using concentration-based methods to using risk-based *** with the carbon neutrality policy,stringent control of NO_(x)emission from combustion sources is a promising way to achieve synergistic control solutions for air pollution and climate change.

Synchronized off-harmonic probe laser with highly variable pulse duration for laser-plasma interaction experiments

This paper presents the development and experimental utilization of a synchronized off-harmonic laser system designed as a probe for ultra-intense laser±plasma interaction experiments. The system exhibits a novel seed-generation design,allowing for a variable pulse duration spanning over more than three orders of magnitude, from 3.45 picoseconds to 10 nanoseconds. This makes it suitable for various plasma diagnostics and visualization techniques. In a side-view configuration, the laser was employed for interferometry and streaked shadowgraphy of a laser-induced plasma while successfully suppressing the self-emission background of the laser±plasma interaction, resulting in a signal-to-self-emission ratio of 110 for this setup. These properties enable the probe to yield valuable insights into the plasma dynamics and interactions at the PhELIX facility and to be deployed at various laser facilities due to its easy-to-implement design.

Effect of mitomycin c on the corneal endothelial cells of Saudi patients with myopia after transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy:a two-armed cohort study

AIM:To study the effect of mitomycin c(MMc)applied during transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy(TPRK)on the corneal endothelium one week(W1)and three months(M3)after surgery and its ***:In this two-armed cohort study conducted in 2022,eyes treated with MMc during TPRK(group 1)were compared with eyes not treated with MMc(group 2).The corneal endothelial cell(Ec)count,Ec density(EcD;cells/mm2),average(μm2),standard deviation(μm2),coefficient of variation(cV%),Ecmax,Ecmin,and Ec percentage of hexagonality were estimated at W1 and *** postoperative changes in the Ec count in the two groups were compared and correlated with the other independent ***:Group 1 had 26 eyes,and group 2 had 78 *** TPRK indices were significantly higher for the eyes in group 1 than for those in group *** MMc usage was not a significant predictor of the change in EcD(P=0.644),change in cV(P=0.374),and change in the percentage of hexagonality of Ec(P=0.164)at ***,the use of MMc was a significant predictor of changes in cV(P=0.014)and the change in the percentage of hexagonality of Ec(P=0.039)at *** duration of laser exposure and the size of the optical zone influenced the correlation of MMc use with the changes in Ec indices,***:The use of MMc doesn’t affect EcD,cV,and percentage of hexagonality at W1 if other surgical indices are *** M3 after operating myopic eyes by TPRK,MMc significantly influence the cV and percentage of *** duration of the laser application and the size of the optical zone should be considered when determining the effect of MMc on the Ec indices.

Recently,I read with interest the research article entitled'Dysfunction of the adhesion G protein-coupled receptor latrophilin 1(ADGRL1/LPhN1)increases the risk of obesity published in Signal Transduction and Targeted *** report confirms and extends our findings that ADGRL1(aka latrophilin 1)regulates energy balance and glucose homeostasis.?Using affinity chromatography coupled with proteomics and electrophysiology,we showed that ADGRL1 is likely a glucose receptor in the *** findings demonstrated that lack of ADGRL1 in the hypothalamus or whole-body causes obesity and features of type 2 diabetes in *** is refreshing to see Dietzsch et al.i reached the same conclusion.

Groundwater vulnerability assessment using a GIS-based DRASTIc method in the Erbil Dumpsite area (Kani Qirzhala), central Erbil Basin, North Iraq

Groundwater vulnerability assessment is a crucial step in the efficient management of groundwater resources,especially in areas with intensive anthropogenic activities and groundwater *** the present study,the DRASTIc method was applied using Geographic Information System(GIS)to delineate groundwater vulnerability zones in the Erbil Dumpsite area,central Erbil Basin,North *** showed that the area was classified into four vulnerability classes:Very low(16.97%),low(27.67%),moderate(36.55%)and high(18.81%).The southern,south-eastern and northern parts of the study area exhibited the highest vulnerability potential,while the central-northern,northern and north-western regions displayed the lowest vulnerability ***,results of the single-parameter sensitivity analysis indicated that amongst the seven DRASTIc parameters,the unsaturated zone and the aquifer media were the most influencing *** conclustion,the correlation of 25 nitrate concentration values with the final vulnerability map,assessed using the Pearson correlation coefficient,yielded a satisfactory result of R=0.72.

The magnitude and spatial variability of cO_(2)surface emissions and processes involving cO_(2)released to the atmosphere from the soils are relevant issues in the context of climate *** work evaluated cO_(2)fluxes and^(13)c/^(12)c ratio of vegetation,organic matter,and soil gases from no disturbed soils of chaco Pampean Plain(Argentina)with different soil properties and environmental conditions(PL and PA units).Soil organic decomposition from individual layers was accompanied byδ^(13)c of total organic carbon(δ^(13)c-TOc)values more enriched to depth.δ^(13)c-TOc values in the upper soil profile~ca.0–15 cm were like the plant community of this area(~−33 to−29‰)whileδ^(13)cTOc varied stronger bellow horizon A,till~−24‰.Bothδ^(13)c-TOc and soilδ^(13)c-cO_(2)were similar(~−24 to 26‰)at deeper horizons(~50–60 cm).Toward the superficial layers,δ^(13)c-TOc andδ^(13)c-cO_(2)showed more differences(till~4‰),due influence of the diffusion *** A layer(~0–20 cm)from both PL and PA units contained the most enrichedδ^(13)c-cO_(2)values(~−15–17‰)because atmospheric cO_(2)permeated the soil air.A simple two-component mixing model between sources(atmosphericδ^(13)c-cO_(2)and soil cO_(2))confirmed that ***,cO_(2)fluxes reflected the biodegradation of c3 plants(source),diffusive transport,and cO_(2)exchange(atmosphere/soil).Soil moisture content appeared as a determining factor in the diffusion process and the magnitude of cO_(2)surface emissions(12–60 g·m^(−2)·d^(−1)).That condition was confirmed by cO_(2)diffusion coefficients estimated by air-filled porosity parameters and soil radon gradient model.
