In this paper,we aim to illustrate the concept of mutually trustworthy human-machine knowledge automation(HM-KA)as the technical mechanism of hybrid augmented intelligence(HAI)based complex system cognition,management,and control(CMC).We describe the historical development of complex system science and analyze the limitations of human intelligence and machine *** need for using human-machine HAI in complex systems is then explained in *** concept of“mutually trustworthy HM-KA”mechanism is proposed to tackle the CMC challenge,and its technical procedure and pathway are demonstrated using an example of corrective control in bulk power grid *** is expected that the proposed mutually trustworthy HM-KA concept can provide a novel and canonical mechanism and benefit real-world practices of complex system CMC.

Objective: Otolaryngologists are at increased occupational risk of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVId-19) infection due to exposure from respiratory droplets and aerosols generated during otologic, nasal, and oropharyngeal examinations and procedures. There have been a variety of guidelines and precautions developed to help mitigate this risk. While many reviews have focused on the personal protective equipment (PPE) and preparation guidelines for surgery in the COVId-19 era, none have focused on the more creative and unusual solutions designed to limit viral transmission. This review aims to fill that *** Sources: PubMed, Ovid/Medline, and ScopusMethods: A comprehensive review of literature was performed on September 28, 2020 using PubMed, Ovid/Medline, and Scopus databases. All English-language studies were included if they proposed or assessed novel interventions developed for Otolaryngology practice during the COVId-19 pandemic. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines were ***: A total of 41 papers met inclusion criteria and were organized into 5 categories ("General Recommendations for Otolaryngologic Surgery’, "Equipment Shortage Solutions’, "Airway Procedures’, "Nasal Endoscopy and Skull Base Procedures’, and "Otologic Procedures’). Articles were summarized, highlighting the innovations created and evaluated during the COVId-19 pandemic. Creative solutions such as application of topical viricidal agents, make-shift mask filters, three-dimensional (3-d) printable adapters for headlights, aerosol containing separation boxes, and a variety of new draping techniques have been developed to limit the risk of COVId-19 ***: Persistent risk of COVId-19 exposure remains high. Thus, there is an increased need for solutions that mitigate the risk of viral transmission during office procedures and surgeries, especially given that most COVId-19 positive patients present asymptomatically

BACKGROUNd: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIds) have been reported to induce liver injury. Patterns of the injury usually range from mild elevations of liver enzymes to sometimes severe fulminant hepatic failure. Likewise, naproxen is a propionic acid derivative NSAId that was introduced in 1980 and has been available as an over-the- counter medication since 1994, but has rarely been reported to cause liver injury. METHOdS: We treated a 30-year-old woman with jaundice and intractable pruritus that developed shortly after taking naproxen. We reviewed the medical history and liver histopathology of the patient as well as all previously published case reports of naproxen-associated liver toxicity in the English language literature. RESULTS: The liver biochemical profile of the patient revealed a mixed cholestasis and hepatitis pattern. Consecutive liver biopsies demonstrated focal lobular inflammation, hepatocyte drop-out, and a progressive loss of the small interlobular bile ducts (ductopenia). The biopsy performed two years after onset of the disease showed partial recovery of a small number of bile ducts; however, 10 years passed before the biochemical profile returned to near normal. CONCLUSIONS: Naproxen-associated liver toxicity remains a rare entity, but should be considered in any patient presenting with cholestasis shortly after its use. Liver injury is most commonly seen in a mixed pattern characterized by cholestasis and hepatitis. The resulting liver damage may take years to resolve.

Purpose:This study aimed to examine the effects of plyometric jump training(PJT)on lower-limb ***:Systematic searches were conducted in PubMed,Web of Science,and *** participants included healthy males and females who undertook a PJT programme isolated from any other training ***:There was a small effect size(ES)of PJT on lower-limb stiffness(ES=0.33,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.07-0.60,z=2.47,p=0.01).Untrained individuals exhibited a larger ES(ES=0.46,95%CI:0.08-0.84,p=0.02)than trained individuals(ES=0.15,95%CI:-0.23 to 0.53,p=0.45).Interventions lasting a greater number of weeks(>7 weeks)had a larger ES(ES=0.47,95%CI:0.06-0.88,p=0.03)than those lasting fewer weeks(ES=0.22,95%CI:-0.12 to 0.55,p=0.20).Programmes withd a larger ES(ES=0.39,95%CI:0.01-0.77,p=0.04)than programmes that incorporated>2 sessions per week(ES=0.20,95%CI:-0.10 to 0.50,p=0.18).Programmes withd a larger effect than programmes with250-500 jumps per week(ES=0.36,95%CI:0.00-0.72,p=0.05).Programmes with>500 jumps per week had negative effects(ES=-0.22,95%CI:-1.10 to 0.67,p=0.63).Programmes with>7.5 jumps per set showed larger effect sizes(ES=0.55,95%CI:0.02-1.08,p=0.04)than those withdy stiffness,which can be optimised with lower volumes(d of time(>7 weeks).

diffuse changes in white matter resulting from cerebral microvascular disease contribute to cognitive impairment （Jokinen et al., 2011）, declines in global functionality （Inzitari et al., 2009）, and even death （debette and Markus, 2010）. Twenty years ago, estimations of the clinical incidence of ce- rebral microvascular disease approached 11 million per year in the US alone （Leary and Saver, 2003）. More recent estima- tions suggest the prevalence of diffuse white matter disease and silent brain infarction approaches 20% and increases dramatically in the presence of cardiovascular risk factors （Fanning et al., 2014）.

Functionalising surfaces using polymeric thin films is an industrially important field. One technique for achieving nanoscale, controlled surface functionalization is plasma deposition. Plasma deposition has advantages over other surface engineering processes, including that it is solvent free, substrate and geometry independent, and the surface properties of the film can be designed by judicious choice of precursor and plasma conditions. despite the utility of this method, the mechanisms of plasma polymer growth are generally unknown, and are usually described by chemical （i.e., radical） pathways. In this review, we aim to show that plasma physics drives the chemistry of the plasma phase, and surface-plasma interactions. For example, we show that ionic species can react in the plasma to form larger ions, and also arrive at surfaces with energies greater than 1000 kJ·mol^-1 （〉10 eV） and thus facilitate surface reactions that have not been taken into account previously. Thus, improving thin film deposition processes requires an understanding of both physical and chemical processes in plasma.

Aims Geographic patterns of the intensity of plant herbivory in relation to climate factors have garnered little general support and appear to be species ***,plant-herbivore interactions are also driven by resource availability,such as soil nutrient content,and it remains unclear whether broad-scale variation in soil factors is reflected in herbivore consumption rates across species’***,we know little of how intraspecific variation in tissue quality associates with edaphic and climatic factors,and how this variation controls herbivore *** resource availability hypothesis(RAH)predicts that plant individuals growing in low-resource environments will have lower leaf nutritional quality and more constitutive defenses,which will result in lower rates of leaf *** We collected leaves from the old-field dominant species,Solidago altissima L.,from 20 sites across 10 degrees of latitude in the Eastern USA to determine the percentage leaf area consumed by insect *** obtained soil and climate data for each site,as well as plant functional and defensive traits,including specific leaf area(SLA),leaf carbon:nitrogen(C:N),and trichome *** Findings Although we found no significant latitudinal trend of leaf consump-tion rate,there was strong evidence that leaf herbivory decreased with leaf C:N and trichome density,which themselves decreased with soil N,supporting our hypothesis that the RAH applies for intraspecific variation across spatial ***,high precipitation seasonality and soil nitrogen predicted decreased *** results suggest that spatial variation in herbivory can be driven by factors other than herbivore communities and climatic gradients,and that bottom-up processes,where plant traits and soil fertility control leaf consumption,must be incorporated into spatial predictions of herbivory.
