Multiple Sclerosis（MS） is a major cause of neurological disability in adults and has an annual cost of approximately $28 billion in the United States. MS is a very complex disorder as demyelination can happen in a variety of locations throughout the brain; therefore, this disease is never the same in two patients making it very hard to predict disease progression. A modeling approach which combines clinical, biological and imaging measures to help treat and fight this disorder is needed. In this paper, I will outline MS as a very heterogeneous disorder, review some potential solutions from the literature, demonstrate the need for a biomarker and will discuss how computational modeling combined with biological, clinical and imaging data can help link disparate observations and decipher complex mechanisms whose solutions are not amenable to simple reductionism.

In recent years,the liquid membrane process has been widely investigated to remove rare earth ***,transport modeling of this process requires the accurate values of several parameters,which are difficult to ***,the accurate simulation of this process is a challenging *** this study,the artificial neural network(ANN)based approach is used to model the liquid membrane process for removing *** results from a previous study were used to train the ***,the number of neurons in the hidden layer was *** minimum mean squared error between experimental results and model predictions is found with ten *** predictions were successfully validated with experimental results with correlation factor(R)of 0.9987,which confirms the authenticity of the trained *** ANN was then used to study the effects of different operating parameters on transport *** higher volume ratio of membrane solution to feed solution(3-4)with 50-60 min of operation,higher feed pH(5),HCl concentration in stripping solution of 2 mol/L,and moderate concentration of carrier species(0.5 mol/L)with 0.5×10^(-4) mol/L dysprosium initial concentration are found to be optimum values of operating conditions for maximizing the transport rate.

We present here results from our search for X-ray pulsations of the neu- tron star in the low mass X-ray binary EXO 0748-676 at a frequency near the burst- oscillation frequency of 44.7 Hz. Using the observations made with the Proportional Counter Array onboard the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer, we did not find any pulsations in the frequency band of 44.4Hz to 45.0Hz and obtained a 3σ upper limit of 0.47% on the pulsed fraction for any possible underlying pulsation in this frequency band. We also discuss the importance of EXO 0748-676 as a promising source for the detection of Gravitational Waves.

This work has investigated the scaleup potential of microbial fuel cells(MFCs)under stacking *** was done in batch mode and continuous *** feeding mode stacks were operated in electrical series(S)and parallel(P)*** feeding mode stacks were kept in electrically parallel mode with different hydrodynamic *** two continuous stacks were connected hydrodynamically in series(*** Dependent;PD)and parallel(*** Independent;PID)*** performance of the continuous stacks was evaluated on the basis of COD consumption rate,power generation and coulombic *** obtained highest power(0.47 mW)which was approximately 3.6 times that of PD configuration(0.13 mW).The rate of COD consumption was also highest in PID stack(3091.75 mg·L^(-1)·d ^(-1)).Coulombic efficiency of the PID stack was 14.26%which was approximately 292.8%of the PD *** results confirmed that the parallel electrical connection hybridized with the independent hydrodynamic flow gives the best possible results when working with stacking of MFCs.

Ethos and logos of the jain thought and practice （world view） is based on reality perceived by senses. Atheistic roots of jain Dharm have nourished growth, maintained viability and vitality, and kept it relevant for over the last five millennia. Unlike Judeo-Christian-Islam or Brahminical faith, it does not rely on omniscient supreme or god. Its atheistic and anti-theistic thrust is generally known, yet its followers do not call themselves Nastik （non-believers）. They emphasize action-consequence relations as guide for successful behaviors with ethical conduct. The basis of their arguments follows from the jain logic （Saptbhangi Syad Nay） of evidence based inference with multiple orthogonal affirmed assertions （jain 2011）. It conserves information by acknowledging the remaining doubt in an inference. It does not assume binary complementation to force closure for deduction with incomplete knowledge which leads to self-reference and loss of information. This approach offers a rational and practical alternative to conundrum of western atheism even though its arguments are logical and consistent with available evidence. It also obviates need to extract religious morality from social mores. Objective truth and knowledge of established generalizations is necessary but not sufficient for subjective searches to shape desires and for what the future ought to be.

Background:Neonatal jaundice is a common *** evaluated the utility and best cut-off values of 24-and 48-hour transcutaneous bilirubin indices (TcBI) in predicting subsequent significant hyperbilirubinemia and evaluated various associated maternal and fetal risk ***:TcBI at 24 and 48 hours and serum bilirubin levels at 72 hours of age were obtained for healthy,term,appropriate for gestational age *** with prematurity,birth weight 17 mg/dL after 72 hours of life and various cut-offs,and were evaluated by calculating sensitivity,specificity and predictive ***:Of 500 newborns,4.6% had significant hyperbilirubinemia,27% had TcBI (mg/dL) <5 at 24 hours,and 27.4% had TeBI <8 at 48 *** of them had subsequent hyperbilirubinemia (100% negative predictive value).The percentage of newborns with subsequent hyperbilirubinemia increased from 3.4% to 13.2% as their 24-hour TcBI increased from 6 to above 9 mg/dL and from 4.2% to 7.4% as their 48-hour TcBI increased from 8 to above 11 mg/*** best cut-off value was TcBI (mg/dL) 7 (odd ratio=4.86,95% confidence interval:1.66-15.22) at 24 hours and 10 (odd ratio=2.87,95% confidence interval:1.04-8.29) at 48 *** under the receiver operating characteristic curve for 24-and 48-hour measurements was 0.750 and 0.715,*** premature rupture of membranes,deep transverse arrest,post-date pregnancy,and fetal distress were significant risk factors for ***:Twenty-four and 48-hour TcB indices are good predictors of subsequent ***-four-hour TcBI had better predictive abili

Ten mg dexrabeprazole daily has been shown to be more effective than 20 mg rabeprazole daily against gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This report shows that the efficacy of 10 mg dexrabeprazole daily is equivalent to that of 20 mg dexrabeprazole daily against GERD. This implies that a dose of 10 mg dexra- beprazole is sufficient to block the maximum amount of proton pumps without any need to double the dose as suggested with rabeprazole.

Patients of end stage renal disease on maintenance hemodialysis were enrolled to study the prevalence of occult and dual hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and non-occult hepatitis B and C virus infection. One hundred and two patients were enrolled. Thirty patients had HCV infection, three of them were positive in anti-HCV. So, 27 (90%) of HCV-positive patients had occult HCV infection. Eleven (11%) patients had HBV infection. Five patients were positive in anti-HBc or HBV-DNA, but negative in HBsAg (occult HBV infection). Three (3%) patients had dual HBV and HCV infection. None of the patients showed changes in viral markers during the follow-up of 8 mo on average (1-12 mo).
