Over the past few years, de novo lipogenesis has taken central stage in the field of cancer metabolism （1）. Large amount of lipids is needed for synthesis of membranes, signaling molecules, lipoproteins, etc. to support rapidly growing tumor cells （2-4）. Reports have shown that neoplastic tissues show aberrant activation of de novo lipogenesis and that inhibition of different enzymes within the fatty acid biosynthesis pathway can block cancer cell growth （2,5-9）. Meanwhile, the importance of fatty acid oxidation （FAO） in cancer metabolism is being increasingly recognized. FAO is the catabolic process by which lipids are utilized to produce energy. Recent studies implicated that the key regulatory enzymes in FAO such as carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 （CPT1） and peroxisomal acyl-coenzyme A oxidase 1 （ACOX1） regulate cancer development （10,11）.

Development of reaction-tailored electrocatalysts is becoming increasingly important as energy and environment are among key issues governing our sustainable *** are inherently optimized for application towards reactions of interest in renewable energy,such as those involved in water splitting and artificial photosynthesis,owing to its energy efficiency,simple fabrication,and ease of *** this view,it is important to secure logical design principles for the synthesis of electrocatalysts for various reactions of interest,and also understand their catalytic mechanisms in the respective reactions for improvements in further *** this review,we introduce several key methods of scanning electrochemical microscopy(SECM)in its applications towards electrocatalysis.A brief history and a handful of seminal works in the SECM field is introduced in advancing the synthetic designs of electrocatalysts and elucidation of the operating *** developments in nano-sizing of the electrodes in attempts for improved spatial resolution of SECM is also introduced,and the application of nanoelectrodes towards the investigation of formerly inaccessible single catalytic entities is shared.

Molecular dynamics （MD） simulations of the consecutive compression-decompression cycles ot hexagonal zinc sulfide （wurtzite） nanoparticles predict an irreversible phase transformation to the cubic *** phase transformation commences at the contact area between the particle and the inden- ter and proceeds with the number of compression cycles. Dislocations are visible for a particle size above 5nm. Results from wet grinding and dry powder compression experiments on a commercial wurtzite pigment agree qualitatively with MD simulation predictions. X-ray diffraction patterns reveal that the amount of cubic polymorph in the compressed samples increases with pressure applied to the powder. In comparison with powder compression, wet milling leads to a more pronounced phase transformation. This occurs because the particles are exposed to a large number of stress events by collision with the grinding media, which leads to the formation of defects and new surface crystallites by particle fracture. According to the MD simulations, phase transformation is expected to occur preferentially in surface crystallites because they experience the highest mechanical load. Because of the phase transformation, the wet ground and compressed samples exhibit a lower photo- luminescence intensity than the feed material. In comparison with powder compression, milling reduces the photoluminescence intensity more substantially. This occurs because a higher defect concentration is formed. The defects contribute to the phase transformation and photoluminescence quenching.

Theoretical physics foretells that ＂strain engineering＂ of graphene could hold the key to finding treasures still hidden in two-dimensional （2D） condensed matter physics and commercializing graphene-based devices. However, to produce strained graphene in large quantities is not an easy task by any means. Here, we demonstrate that thermal annealing of graphene placed on various substrates could be a surprisingly simple method for preparing strained graphene with a large area. We found that enhanced graphene-substrate interfacial adhesion plays a critical role in developing strained graphene. Creative device architectures that consider the thermal mismatch between graphene and the target substrate could enable the resulting strain to be intentionally tailored. We believe that our proposed method could suggest a shortcut to realization of graphene straintronics.

High efficiency and flexible inverted organic solar cells have been fabricated using solution-processed silver nanowire/zinc oxide composite transparent electrodes. The transparent electrodes showed a low sheet resistance of -13 ff）.sq-1 and high transmittance of -93% as well as superior mechanical flexibility. Power conversion efficiencies of -7.57% and -7.21% were achieved for devices fabricated on glass and plastic substrate, respectively. Moreover, the flexible devices did not show any degradation in their performance even after being folded with a radius of-480 μm.

To design an effective and realistically applicable sinter bonding process for power devices,we proposed a two-step process using a 200 nm Cu-particle-based paste to form a bondline having high-temperature sustainability and superior thermal *** process involved rapid pressure-assisted sinter bonding in air followed by pressureless annealing in a nitrogen *** the case of a paste prepared with a mixture of 20 wt.%malic acid and 80 wt.%ethylene glycol,sinter bonding at 300℃and 5 MPa for only 30 s resulted in a sufficient shear strength of 23.1 *** shear strength was significantly enhanced to 69.6 MPa by the additional pressureless aging for 30 ***,the two-step sinter bonding process is expected to provide an outstanding production rate as a next-generation sinter bonding process.
