A potential treatment for retinal diseases is to induce an endogenous Müller glia(MG)-derived regenerative response to replace damaged *** contrast to mammalian MG,zebrafish MG are capable of mediating spontaneous *** seek to define the mechanisms that enable retina regeneration in zebrafish in order to identify therapeutic targets to induce mammalian retina *** previously used pharmacological and genetic methods to inhibit gamma aminobutyric acid A(GABAA)receptors in undamaged zebrafish retinas and showed that such inhibition could induce initiation of retina regeneration,as measured by the dedifferentiation of MG and the appearance of MG-derived proliferating progenitor ***,we show that inhibition of a pharmacologically distinct subset of GABAA receptors(GABAA-ρ)can also induce retina *** inhibition of both GABA receptor subtypes led to enhanced retina *** expression analyses indicate that inhibition of GABAA-ρreceptors induces a canonical retinal regenerative *** results support a model in which decreased levels of GABA,such as would occur after retinal cell death or damage,induce dedifferentiation of MG and the generation of proliferating progenitor cells during zebrafish retina *** experiments were approved by the Vanderbilt's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee(Protocol M1800200)on January 29,2019.

Quantum technology is recognized as one of the most promising directions for our future technologies. By exploiting the unique features of quantum effects, emerging quantum technology is rapidly progressing around the world including quantum computation, quantum communication, quantum metrology and quantum simulation. The development of quantum control plays a grounding role in enabling the preservation and manipulation of quantum states that are used in various quantum technologies. This special issue will focus on new development in relevant topics of estimation and control methods in quantum systems, and provide a forum for idea exchange in this dynamic research area. Particularly, lan r. Petersen, a key figure in the development of robust and quantum control theory, just turned 60 in the past year. We propose to celebrate this occasion with this special issue on quantum control, one of his main research focuses in the last fifteen years.

Auroral Kilometric radiation (AKr) is a common radio emission,which can contribute to the magnetosphere-ionosphereatmosphere co u *** emissions have been observed in all magnetic planet magnetospheres of the solar *** this study,using observations from the FAST satellite from 30 August 1996 to 9 September 2001,the distribution of AKr in altitude=500-4500 km and invariant latitude (|ILAT|)=60°-80°has been analyzed.63045 AKr samples have been identified with~48%(52%) samples on the dayside (nightside).Of considerable interest,there is a distinct MLT asymmetry with the high occurrence rate in MLT=05-08 and 18-22(02-05 and 12-17) in the northern (southern) *** distinct MLT asymmetry is associated with the direction of Bxof the interplaneta ry magnetic *** addition,the occurrence rate on the nightside clearly increases as the AE^(*) index *** study further enriches the information and understanding of AKr in the magnetosphere as well as other similar radio emissions.

reservoir engineering is the term used in quantum control and information technologies to describe manipulating the environment within which an open quantum system operates. reservoir engineering is essential in applications where storing quantum information is required. From the control theory perspective, a quantum system is capable of storing quantum information if it possesses a so-called decoherence free subsystem （DFS）. This paper explores pole placement techniques to facilitate synthesis of decoherence free subsystems via coherent quantum feedback control. We discuss limitations of the conventional ＇open loop＇ approach and propose a constructive feedback design methodology for decoherence free subsystem engineering. It captures a quite general dynamic coherent feedback structure which allows systems with decoherence free modes to be synthesized from components which do not have such modes.

End stage liver disease(ESLD) is associated with many specific derangements in cardiovascular physiology, which influence perioperative outcomes and may pro-foundly influence diagnostic and management strate-gies in the preoperative period. This review focuses on evidence-based diagnosis and management of coro-nary, hemodynamic and pulmonary vascular disease in this population with an emphasis on specific strategies that may provide a bridge to transplantation. Specifi-cally, we address the underlying prevalence of cardio-vascular disease states in the ESLD population, and relevant diagnostic criteria thereof. We highlight tradi-tional and non-traditional predictors of cardiovascular outcomes following liver transplant, as well as data to guide risk-factor based diagnostic strategies. We go on to discuss the alterations in cardiovascular physiology which influence positive- and negative-predictive values of standard noninvasive testing modalities in the ESLD population, and review the data regarding the safetyand efficacy of invasive testing in the face of ESLD and its co-morbidities. Finally, based upon the totality of available data, we outline an evidence-based ap-proach for the management of ischemia, heart failure and pulmonary vascular disease in this population. It is our hope that such evidence-driven strategies can be employed to more safely bridge appropriate candidates to liver transplant, and to improve their cardiovascular health and outcomes in the peri-operative period.

This paper discusses a class of interval alignment （IA） scheduling policies, which are particularly effective for the systems that do not have Markovian structure. The numerical results show that IA policies effectively smooth part flows, improve performance and decrease average Work-in-Process （WlP） by adding intermediate delays to the system, The boundary of IA policy is proven and the applications of IA policy in the system with multiple stream arrivals have been discussed. With the combination of release policy, it is practical to implement IA to multiple stream arrival system.

Background:Antibiotic resistance is a major problem in every region of the globe and Sub-Saharan Africa(SSA)is no *** systematic reviews have addressed the prevalence of resistant organisms but few have examined the underlying causes in this *** systematic review of qualitative literature aims to highlight barriers and facilitators to antimicrobial stewardship in ***:A literature search of Embase and MEDLINE(r)was carried *** were included if they were in English,conducted in SSA,and reported qualitative data on the barriers and facilitators of antimicrobial stewardship or on attitudes towards resistance promoting *** were screened with a simple critical appraisal *** constructs were extracted and coded into concepts,which were then reviewed and grouped into themes in light of the complete ***:The literature search yielded 169 results,of which 14 studies from 11 countries were included in the final *** studies were excluded as a result of the critical *** concepts emerged from initial coding,which were consolidated into five major themes:ineffective regulation,health system factors,clinical governance,patient factors and lack of *** ineffective regulation theme highlighted the balance between tightening drugstore regulation,reducing over-the-counter sale of antibiotics,and maintaining access to medicines for rural ***,health system factors explored the tension between antimicrobial stewardship and the need of pharmacy workers to maintain profitable ***,a lack of resources,actions by patients and the day-to-day challenges of providing healthcare were shown to directly impede antimicrobial stewardship and exacerbate other factors which promote ***:Antibiotic resistance in SSA is a multi-faceted issue and while limited resources contribute to the problem they should be viewed in the context of other ***
