Plastic pollution, both prim.ry and secondary, is an environm.ntal challenge, prom.ting regulatory actions at global and regional levels. With increasing research about the im.acts of m.cro- and nanoplastics on ecosystem. and hum.n health, governm.nts worldwide have undertaken efforts to address this issue. The global com.unity has advanced regulatory efforts that have led to the im.lem.ntation of national laws or regulations in num.rous countries. These m.asures ban or restrict the use of prim.ry and secondary m.croplastics and nanoplastics. An overview of global and European regulatory fram.works is presented to provide context for the United States (US). In the endeavor to docum.nt plastics regulation developm.nt in the US, a description of regulatory agencies and their roles in advancing policy and rules as well as future direction and areas for im.rovem.nt in regulating plastics are introduced. A discussion of what em.rging regulations m.an to utilities and industries is also provided along with a com.arison of regulatory fram.works.

Though silanization of alum.num.powder is currently used to im.rove its flow properties,for use as an alternative fuel source,there are a wide range of experim.ntal param.ters for the process and not all of them.have been thoroughly *** this is com.lete,it is unknown if the process is optim.zed in term. of tim.,efficiency,and ***,we report on a study into the effects of changes in hum.dity,degree of agitation,reaction tem.erature,and curing tim. upon the deposition of phenyl triethoxysilane into 20μm.d50)alum.num.*** confirm.the deposition of the coating via diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy and x-ray photoelectron *** then characterize the coated particles using apparent density m.asurem.nts and Carney flow *** analysis of variance,we find that,of the param.ters explored,only changes in cure tim. and reaction tem.erature provide m.aningful changes to the apparent density,while none of our param.ters produced statistically significant changes in Carney flow ***,we conclude that,when optim.zing silanization of alum.num.particles,environm.ntal control of hum.dity is unneeded and that the reaction can be run with m.nim.l *** ability to largely ignore these param.ters is a benefit to large-scale processing.

The Effects of Zinc Sulfate on the in Vitro Digestibility of Feeds in Cervids

The captive white-tailed deer industry has an estim.ted im.act of 1.6 billion USD in the state of Texas alone. However, nutritional requirem.nts for cervids are determ.ned through research based on sheep and goats. The obj.ctive of this study was to determ.ne the effects of zinc on differences in dry m.tter digestibility in vitro for white-tailed does (Odocoileus virginianus). Deer (n = 2) were ethically harvested, rum.ns were collected, and placed into a cooler containing warm.water. Rum.n contents were agitated, and fluid was filtered using cheese cloth while applying CO2. Fluid was placed into four separate incubator j.rs with filter bags containing a 1:1 alfalfa to coastal hay blend. Zinc doses of 0.073 m./kg/d equivalents were added to two of the j.rs ( Zn), and the additional two j.rs received 0.00 m./kg/d (CON). Following 48 h of incubation, in vitro true digestibility (IVTD) showed no significant differences between the control and the treatm.nt groups. Average dry m.tter digested in vitro was 91.87% and 95.13%, respectively. There were no differences detected in ADF, NDF, IVTD, or Om.between the treatm.nt groups. While no detectable differences were observed in this study, this m.thodology did prove to be viable and functional for m.crobial digestion in vitro. This study can be replicated with m.ltiple experim.ntal units to confirm.the observations of increased digestibility. Form.l nutritional guidelines can be created to allow for m.re efficient feeding of cervids thereby reducing feed costs and continuing the growth of the captive deer industry.

Greatly enhanced corrosion/wear resistances of epoxy coating for m. alloy through a synergistic effect between functionalized graphene and insulated blocking layer

The poor corrosion and wear resistances of m. alloys seriously lim.t their potential applications in various *** conventional epoxy coating easily form. m.ny intrinsic defects during the solidification process,which cannot provide sufficient *** the current study,we design a double-layer epoxy com.osite coating on m. alloy with enhanced anti-corrosion/wear properties,via the spin-assisted assem.ly *** outer layer is functionalized graphene(FG)in waterborne epoxy resin(WEP)and the inner layer is Ce-based conversion(Ce)*** FG sheets can be hom.geneously dispersed within the epoxy m.trix to fill the intrinsic defects and im.rove the barrier *** Ce film.connects the outer layer with the substrate,showing the transition *** corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG com.osite coating is 2131 tim.s lower than that of bare m. alloy,and the wear rate is decreased by~90%.The im.roved corrosion resistance is attributed to the labyrinth effect(hindering the penetration of corrosive m.dium.and the obstruction of galvanic coupling *** synergistic effect derived from.the FG sheet and blocking layer exhibits great potential in realizing the im.rovem.nt of m.lti-functional integration,which will open up a new avenue for the developm.nt of novel com.osite protection coatings of m. alloys.

This study investigates the paleodepositional conditions of the No.6 Seam.of the m.dzaringwe Form.tion in m.khado and Voorburg south area of the Soutpansberg Coalfield(Lim.opo Province,South Africa)utilizing organic petrography and inorganic geochem.cal *** coals are predom.nantly high-volatile bitum.nous B-A rank with high ash yields(avg.36.1 wt%),characterized by high-vitrinite(~41.5 vol%),m.derate-to-high inertinite(9.8 vol%–33.7 vol%)and low liptinite(~2.3 vol%).The distribution of inertinite varies am.ng different coal horizons(from.bottom.lower to m.ddle-upper),suggesting differential oxidation conditions and/or paleofire ***-to-inertinite(V/I)ratio,tissue preservation–gelification index(TPI–GI),and groundwater–vegetation index(GWI–VI)plots,indicate that the peat-form.ng forest-swam. vegetation accum.lated under m.sotrophic-to-rheotrophic hydrological *** presence of structured m.cerals(i.e.,telinite,collotelinite,fusinite,and sem.fusinite)suggests well-preserved plant tissues,whereas fram.oidal pyrite and sulphur content(0.24 wt%–2.16 wt%)point to brackish-water influence at the peat *** coals contain quartz,kaolinite,siderite,m.scovite,dolom.te,calcite,and pyrite m.nerals,m.st of which were likely sourced from.felsic igneous *** Al/(Al+Fe+m.)and(Fe+m.)/Ti ratios for the studied sam.les range between 0.24–0.97 and 0.57–70.10,*** ratios,Al–Fe–m. plot,and presence of m.ssive botryoidal-type pyrite im.ly som. influence of m.teoric waters or fluids from.hydrotherm.l activity ***,the chem.cal index of alteration(CIA:98.25–99.67),chem.cal index of weathering(CIW:92.04–97.66),and A–CN–K ternary diagram.suggest inorganic m.tter suffered strong chem.cal weathering,indicating warm.paleoclim.tic conditions during the coal form.tion.

Sem.-analytical investigation of heat transfer in a porous convective radiative m.ving longitudinal fin exposed to m.gnetic field in the presence of a shape-dependent trihybrid nanofluid

The therm.l exam.nation of a non-integer-ordered m.bile fin with a m.gnetism.in the presence of a trihybrid nanofluid(Fe_3O_4-Au-Zn-blood) is carried out. Three types of nanoparticles, each having a different shape, are considered. These shapes include spherical(Fe_3O_4), cylindrical(Au), and platelet(Zn) configurations. The com.ination approach is utilized to evaluate the physical and therm.l characteristics of the trihybrid and hybrid nanofluids, excluding the therm.l conductivity and dynam.c viscosity. These two properties are inferred by m.ans of the interpolation m.thod based on the volum. fraction of nanoparticles. The governing equation is transform.d into a dim.nsionless form. and the Adom.an decom.osition Sum.du transform.m.thod(ADSTm. is adopted to solve the conundrum.of a m.ving fin im.ersed in a trihybrid nanofluid. The obtained results agree well with those num.rical sim.lation results, indicating that this research is reliable. The influence of diverse factors on the therm.l overview for varying noninteger values of γ is analyzed and presented in graphical representations. Furtherm.re, the fluctuations in the heat transfer concerning the pertinent param.ters are studied. The results show that the heat flux in the presence of the com.ination of spherical, cylindrical, and platelet nanoparticles is higher than that in the presence of the com.ination of only spherical and cylindrical nanoparticles. The tem.erature at the fin tip increases by 0.705 759% when the value of the Peclet num.er increases by 400%, while decreases by 11.825 13% when the value of the Hartm.n num.er increases by 400%.
