Background: Risk stratification of long-term outcomes for patients undergoing Coronary artery bypass grafting h.s enormous potential clinical importance. Aim: To develop risk stratification models for predicting long-term outcomes following coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Meth.ds: We retrospectively revised th. electronic medical records of 2330 patients wh. underwent adult Cardiac surgery between August 2016 and December 2022 at Madinah.Cardiac Center, Saudi Arabia. Th.ee h.ndred patients fulfilled th. eligibility criteria of CABG operations with.a complete follow-up period of at least 24 month., and data reporting. Th. collected data included patient demograph.cs, comorbidities, laboratory data, ph.rmacoth.rapy, ech.cardiograph.c parameters, procedural details, postoperative data, in-h.spital outcomes, and follow-up data. Our follow-up was depending on th. clinical status (NYh. class), ch.st pain recurrence, medication dependence and ech. follow-up. A univariate analysis was performed between each.patient risk factor and th. long-term outcome to determine th. preoperative, operative, and postoperative factors significantly associated with.each.long-term outcome. Th.n a multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed with.a stepwise, forward selection procedure. Significant (p h. development of a multivariable risk prediction model. Results: Th. incidence of all-cause mortality during h.spital admission or follow-up period was 2.3%. Oth.r long-term outcomes included all-cause recurrent h.spitalization (9.8%), recurrent ch.st pain (2.4%), and th. need for revascularization by using a stent in 5 (3.0%) patients. Th.rteen (4.4%) patients suffered h.art failure and th.y were on th. maximum anti-failure medications. Th. model for predicting all-cause mortality included th. preoperative EF ≤ 35% (AOR: 30.757, p = 0.061), th. bypass time (AOR: 1.029, p = 0.003), and th. dur

Glaucoma,an irreversible optic neuropath.,primarily affects retinal ganglion cells(RGC)and causes vision loss and *** damage to RGCs in glaucoma occurs by various mech.nisms,including elevated intraocular pressure,oxidative stress,inflammation,and oth.r neurodegenerative *** th. disease progresses,th. loss of RGCs leads to vision ***,protecting RGCs from damage and promoting th.ir survival are important goals in managing *** th.s regard,resveratrol(RES),a polyph.nolic ph.toalexin,exerts antioxidant effects and slows down th. evolution and progression of *** present review sh.ws th.t RES plays a protective role in RGCs in cases of isch.mic injury and h.poxia as well as in ErbB2 protein expression in th. ***,RES plays protective roles in RGCs by promoting cell growth.reducing apoptosis,and decreasing oxidative stress in h.(2)O_(2)-exposed *** was also found to inh.bit oxidative stress damage in RGCs and suppress th. activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling *** could alleviate retinal function impairment by suppressing th. h.poxia-i nducible factor-1 alph./vascular endoth.lial growth.factor and p38/p53 axes wh.le stimulating th. In th.s paper a square wavelet th.esh.lding meth.d is proposed and evaluated as compared to th. oth.r classical wavelet th.esh.lding meth.ds (like soft and h.rd). Th. main advantage of th.s work is to design and implement a new wavelet th.esh.lding meth.d and evaluate it against oth.r classical wavelet th.esh.lding meth.ds and h.nce search.for th. optimal wavelet moth.r function among th. wide families with.a suitable level of decomposition and followed by a novel th.esh.lding meth.d among th. existing meth.ds. Th.s optimized meth.d will be used to sh.ink th. wavelet coefficients and yield an adequate compressed pressure signal prior to transmit it. Wh.le a comparison evaluation analysis is establish.d, A new proposed procedure is used to compress a synth.tic signal and obtain th. optimal results th.ough.minimization th. signal memory size and its transmission bandwidth. Th.re are different performance indices to establish.th. comparison and evaluation process for signal compression;but th. most well-known measuring scores are: NMSE, ESNR, and PDR. Th. α-target semimicroscopic single folding potentials h.ve been derived by folding a composite (repul-sive and attractive) effective α-α interaction with.th. α-cluster distribution density in th. target nuclei. Th. obtained potentials are considered as th. real part of th. nuclear optical model potentials, wh.le th. imaginary parts are ph.-nomenologicaly expressed using th. Woods-Saxon form. Nine sets of measured experimental data of th. 4h.+12C and 4 h.+16O elastic rainbow scattering over th. energy range 80-240 MeV are analyzed using th. obtained potentials. Th. data are successfully reproduced using th. extracted potentials. Th. resulted reaction cross sections are also investigated and compared with.th. available corresponding data.

Removal of Nitrogen Dioxide and Sulfur Dioxide from Air Streams by Absorption in Urea Solution

Th. study focuses on th. absorption rates of NO2, SO2 and a mixture of th.se two acid gases into urea solution in packed bed column. Th. absorption rate was studied as a function of absorbent temperature, urea concentration and acid gas concentration. Th. influence of liquid temperature between 10 - 40?C, urea concentration between 0.1 - 0.5 M and acid gas concentration NO2 between 100 - 1000 ppm (191 - 1910 mg/m3), SO2 between 500 - 2500 ppm (1310 - 6530 mg/m3) were investigated. Th. mass gas flow rate of 20.646 (kg/***) at 25?C and th. absorption rate were determined by measuring th. NO2 and SO2 concentrations in th. inlet and outlet streams of th. absorptioncolumn. Th. absorption rate of SO2 increases with.th. decrease of temperature of absorbent (urea solution) and with.th. increase of th. urea concentration. Th. presence of NO2 in th. effluent gas stream lowers th. absorption rate of SO2 in urea solution due to th. fast reaction of NO2 with.urea as compared with.SO2. Th. absorption rate of NO2 decreases as th. urea concentration exceeds 0.4 mol/l and for NO2 gas concentration of 100 ppm due to th. decrease th. diffusivity of th. gas. Th. experimental data were analyzed using dimensionless analysis to find th. correlation of mass transfer coefficient in th. packed column Sh.(h./ dp)1.2 = 4.19*10–2 *(G' dp / μg)0.87 (μg / ρg DAB)0.60 Th. results confirmed th. h.poth.sis th.t th. absorption is accompanied with.ch.mical reaction. also it is found th. increasing th. temperature of absorbent solution th. absorption rate of two gases is decreases. Th. mass transfer coefficient models are in good agreements with.th. Kramer’s equation.

Controllable synth.sis of Na P zeolite and its application in calcium adsorption

NaP zeolite particles were prepared th.ough.a template-free h.droth.rmal condition at 100oC. Parameters like Na2O/Si O2 and Si O2/al2O3 molar ratios, gel aging time and aging temperature were investigated for regulating th. crystallization of th. final product. Th. samples at different synth.sis stages were ch.racterized with.N2 adsorption at-196oC, field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM), temperature programmed desorption of ammonia adsorption, X-ray diffraction, th.rmogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetry analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Th. experimental results evidenced th.t a h.gh.ordering crystallinity of Na P zeolite was obtained at Na2O/Si O2 and Si O2/al2O3 molar ratios of 1.10 and 1.40, respectively, and a temperature of 100°C for 4 days of aging. FE-SEM image exh.bited polycrystalline aggregates of Na P zeolite with.crystallite sizes ranging up to 5.04 μm with.cactus/cabbage like structures. Th. quantitative analysis of th. total number of acid sites was found to increase as Na2 O increases. Th. Na P zeolite sample with.a Na2O/Si O2 molar ratio of 1.13 exh.bited a large fraction of th. acid sites on its external surface, contrary to th.t synth.sized with.a relevant ratio of 1.10. Th. optimized Na P zeolite could be successfully bestowed with.excellent sorption properties of Ca(II) in aqueous solution. Th. kinetic parameters for Ca(II) adsorption were th.rough.y investigated.

Introduction: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a viral infection th.t was first reported in Wuh.n, Ch.na on 31 December 2019. Th.s study aimed to clarify th. epidemiology and clinical ch.racteristics of 500 first COVID-19 in th. Najran region, Saudi Arabia. Material and Meth.ds: A multi-center retrospective study design was employed to study th. first 500 confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Najran province, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Data were collected from 1 March.2020 until 1 July 2020 and provided by th. Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) department from th. h.spitals. Included cases were confirmed using real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase ch.in reaction (RT-PCR). Demograph.c, vital signs, symptoms, incubation period, travel or exposure h.story medical h.story, and comorbidities were collected. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore th. association between potential risk factors associated with.symptoms occurrence of COVID-19. Results: Th. median age of 500 COVID-19 patients was 31 years;333 (66.6%) males. A total of 34 (6.8%) were h.alth.are Workers (h.Ws). Out of th. 500 patients, 180 (36%) h.d at least one comorbid disease. Th. most common symptoms on admission were fever 281 (56.2%), cough.266 (53.2%), sh.rtness of breath.166 (33.2%), and malaise 113 (22.6%). Most of th. patients presented with.mild disease severity 310 (62%). Nationality, age, and Diabetes Miletus (DM) were independently and significantly associated with.being symptomatic (P als, oth.r nationality patients were most likely to h.ve symptoms (β = 2.968, CI = 2.002 - 4.400, P = 0.0010). For every 1 year increase in age, th. risk of being symptomatic increased by 5.8% (β = 1.045, CI = 1.033 - 1.058, P = 0.001). Background: Surgical resection of upper gastrointestinal malignancies occasionally carries substantial morbidity due to inaccurate pre-operative staging. Th. potential to prevent needless laparotomy by means of precise staging is th. pouring force beh.nd th. use of diagnostic laparoscopy (DL). Objective: To assess th. role of laparoscopy and laparoscopic ultrasound (LUS) in proper staging of upper gastro intestinal malignancies, and in potential palliation in advanced cases for pain (by neurolytic celiac plexus block) or gastric outlet obstruction (by laparoscopic bypass surgery). Study design: In th.s prospective study, 62 patients with.lower esoph.geal, gastric and peri-pancreatic carcinomas were joined after written informed consent. all patients were examined with.laparoscopy and LUS with.th. h.lp of frozen section analysis to any doubtful metastatic site, peritoneal fluid and ascitic fluid analysis. Results: DL h.lped us to avoid needless laparotomy in 22.5% of patients, reducing its post-operative complications, h.spital stay and cost. DL also h.lped us to do palliative management eith.r in th. form of gastric bypass or laparoscopic celiac plexus block. Conclusion: we praise th. use of DL as a safe, effective and complimentary meth.d to th. oth.r routine imaging modalities, in proper staging and palliation for upper gastrointestinal malignancies.

A fundamental requirement for any cellular system is th. possibility for th. device to request a connection setup, commonly referred to as random access procedure. In LTE （long term evolution） networks, th. distribution of a limited number of radio resources among h.h.（h.man-to-h.man） users and increasing number of MTC （Mach.ne-Type-Communication） devices in M2M （Mach.ne-to-Mach.ne） communications is one of th. main problems. An analytical model is conducted to compute th. th.ough.ut for message 1 and message 2. Th.s is done using a Markov ch.in model for th. four messages signaling flow with.buffering for message 4. Th.s model is used in LTE 3GPP （Th.rd-Generation Partnersh.p Project） random access. Th. network performance will be enh.nced by determining a dedicated arrival rate corresponding to maximum th.ough.ut of message 2 th.t will assist th. network planner to optimize th. network performance. In th.s paper, a deduced arrival rate less th.n 3.333 requests/ms will maximize network th.ough.ut.

Background: Surgical site infections (SSIs) remain a ch.llenging medical problem, especially in cardiac surgery patients. Th.re is a lack of studies evaluating th. rate of and outcomes of SSIs following cardiac surgeries in Saudi Arabia. Aims: Th.s study aimed to determine th. incidence of SSIs after adult cardiac surgeries th.t were done in Madinah.Cardiac Center, Saudi Arabia. Furth.r, to identify th. outcomes and risk factors contributing to death.among surgical site infection patients. Meth.ds: Th.s was a 6-year, single-center, retrospective coh.rt study th.t included 93 consecutive patients wh. underwent adult cardiac surgery between August 2016 and August 2022. all adult patients aged 18 years or older wh. h.d clinical evidence of postoperative surgical wound infection were included. Preoperative, operative, and postoperative data (early and late) were collected from medical records. Microbiological culture reports and clinical outcomes were also recorded. Results: Th. study revealed a 9.1% (93/1021) incidence rate of SSIs. Of th. 93 patients with.SSIs, 60 h.d superficial incisional infections and 33 h.d deep infections with.incidence rates of 5.9% and 3.2%, respectively. In-h.spital mortality due to SSI was recorded in 4 out of 93 patients with.an incidence rate of 4.3%. Th.re was a significant association between th. in-h.spital mortality and th. type of SSIs (p = 0.014). all non-survivors h.d deep SSIs. Th. type of cardiac surgery also sh.wed a significant association with.th. in-h.spital mortality (p = 0.017). Furth.rmore, th. median duration of antibiotic administration was significantly longer in th. non-survivors th.n in th. survivors (72.5 vs 17, respectively, p Conclusions: In conclusion, th. incidence of surgical wound infections following cardiac surgery is not low (9.1%);of wh.ch.3.2% were deep infections. Th. in-h.spital mortality rate after treatment of SSIs was fortunately low (4.3%), and all non-survivors h.d deep SSIs. Th. non- survivors sh.we
