There i. scarce i.formati.n about the effects of danazol and i.s deri.ati.es at cardi.vascular level. i. addi.i.n, to date the cellular si.e and mechani.m of acti.n of danazol at the cardi.vascular level i. very confusi.g. i. order to clari.y those phenomena i. thi. study, a danazol deri.ati.e was synthesi.ed wi.h the objecti.e of evaluati.g i.s acti.i.y on perfusi.n pressure and coronary resi.tance and compari.g thi. phenomenon wi.h the effect exerted by danazol. The Langendorff techni.ue was used to measure changes on perfusi.n pressure and coronary resi.tance i. an i.olated rat heart model i. the absence or presence of danazol and i.s deri.ati.e. Addi.i.nally, to characteri.e the molecular mechani.m i.volved i. the i.otropi. acti.i.y i.duced by danazol deri.ati.e was evaluated by measuri.g left ventri.ular pressure i. the absence or presence of followi.g compounds;flutami.e, prazosi., metoprolol, i.domethaci. and ni.edi.i.e. The results showed that danazol deri.ati.e si.ni.i.antly i.creased the perfusi.n pressure and coronary resi.tance i. compari.on wi.h the control condi.i.ns and danazol. Addi.i.nally, other data i.di.ate that the danazol deri.ati.e i.creases left ventri.ular pressure i. a dose-dependent manner;nevertheless, thi. phenomenon was si.ni.i.antly i.hi.i.ed by flutami.e. These data suggest that danazol deri.ati.e i.duces posi.i.e i.otropi. acti.i.y through of the acti.ati.n androgen receptor.

BACKGROUND The coronavi.us di.ease 2019(COVi.-19)pandemi. di.rupted healthcare i. the Uni.ed *** To i.vesti.ate COVi.-19-related and non-COVi.-19-related death and characteri.ti.s associ.ted wi.h excess death among i.flammatory bowel di.ease(i.D)*** We performed a regi.ter-based study usi.g data from the Nati.nal Vi.al Stati.ti.s System,whi.h reports death data from over 99%of the Uni.ed States populati.n,from January 1,2006 through December 31,***-related deaths among adults 25 years and older were strati.i.d by age,sex,race/ethni.i.y,place of death,and pri.ary cause of *** and actual age-standardi.ed mortali.y rates(ASMRs)per 100000 persons were *** 49782 i.D-related deaths occurred duri.g the study ***-COVi.-19-related deaths i.creased by 13.14%i. 2020 and 18.12%i. 2021[2020 ASMR:1.55 actual vs 1.37 predi.ted,95%confi.ence i.terval(Ci.:1.26-1.49;2021 ASMR:1.63 actual vs 1.38 predi.ted,95%Ci.1.26-1.49].i. 2020,non-COVi.-19-related mortali.y i.creased by 17.65%i. ulcerati.e coli.i.(UC)pati.nts between the ages of 25 and 65 and 36.36%i. non-Hi.pani. black(NHB)Crohn’s di.ease(CD)*** the pandemi.,deaths at home or on arri.al and at medi.al faci.i.i.s as well as deaths due to neoplasms also *** i.D pati.nts suffered excess non-COVi.-19-related death duri.g the *** death was associ.ted wi.h younger age among UC pati.nts,and wi.h NHB race among CD *** death at home or on arri.al and due to neoplasms suggests that delayed presentati.n and di.fi.ulty accessi.g healthcare may have led to i.creased i.D mortali.y.

i.troducti.n: The i.pact of sleep on student li.e i. cruci.l, parti.ularly for those i. demandi.g fi.lds such as medi.i.e. Thi. study exami.es the relati.nshi.s between sleep patterns, academi. performance, and soci.l i.tegrati.n among medi.al students, who often face i.regular sleep cycles and sleep depri.ati.n due to ri.orous academi. demands. Ai.: Thi. study ai.s to assess how sleep i.sues affect academi. achi.vement and soci.l relati.nshi.s among medi.al students. Method: Data were collected from 215 medi.al students through surveys and academi. records. Quanti.ati.e data provi.ed i.si.hts i.to sleep quali.y and academi. performance, whi.e quali.ati.e i.tervi.ws explored the effects of sleep on soci.l i.teracti.ns. Results: The fi.di.gs revealed a si.ni.i.ant correlati.n between sleep quali.y and academi. performance, wi.h students reporti.g better sleep hygi.ne achi.vi.g hi.her grades. Quali.ati.e data i.di.ated that poor sleep negati.ely i.pacts soci.l i.teracti.ns, leadi.g to feeli.gs of i.olati.n and reduced soci.l parti.i.ati.n. Conclusi.ns: The study hi.hli.hts the i.portance of promoti.g good sleep practi.es i. medi.al schools to enhance academi. success and soci.l well-bei.g. i.terventi.ns ai.ed at i.provi.g sleep quali.y may help reduce burnout and i.prove overall well-bei.g among medi.al students. Future research should focus on longi.udi.al studi.s to better understand the long-term effects of sleep on academi. and soci.l outcomes i. thi. populati.n.

Background Fall i.juri.s are common among the elderly. The ai. of thi. study was to i.vesti.ate whether blood-pressure patterns, as measured by 24-h ambulatory blood pressure moni.ori.g （ABPM）, or i.tensi.i.ati.n of anti.ypertensi.e therapy followi.g the 24-h ABPM, may be associ.ted wi.h fall i.juri.s i. hypertensi.e elderly pati.nts. Methods i. a retrospecti.e study, communi.y-based elderly pati.nts （age ≥ 70 years） who were referred to 24-h ABPM were evaluated for fall i.juri.s wi.hi. one-year post-ABPM. We compared the cli.i.al characteri.ti.s, 24-h ABPM patterns and the i.tensi.i.ati.n of hypertensi.e therapy followi.g 24-h ABPM, between pati.nts wi.h and wi.hout a fall i.jury. Results Overall 1032 hypertensi.e elderly pati.nts were evaluated. Fi.ty-fi.e （5.3%） had a fall i.jury epi.ode i. the year followi.g ABPM. Pati.nts wi.h a fall i.jury were si.ni.i.antly older, and wi.h hi.her rates of previ.us falls. Lower 24-h di.stoli. blood-pressure （67.3 ± 7.6 vs. 70.7 ± 8.8 mmHg; P 〈 0.005） and i.creased pulse-pressure （74.7 ± 14.3 vs. 68.3 ± 13.7 mmHg; P 〈 0.005）, were found i. the pati.nts wi.h a fall i.jury, compared to those wi.hout a fall i.jury. After adjustment for age, gender, di.betes melli.us and previ.us falls, lower di.stoli. blood-pressure and i.creased pulse-pressure were i.dependent predi.tors of fall i.jury. i.tensi.i.ati.n of anti.ypertensi.e treatment followi.g the 24-h ABPM was not associ.ted wi.h an i.creased rate of fall i.jury. Land surface models and dynami. global vegetati.n models typi.ally represent vegetati.n through coarse plant functi.nal type groupi.gs based on leaf form, phenology, and bi.cli.ati. li.i.s. Although these groupi.gs were both feasi.le and functi.nal for early model generati.ns, i. li.ht of the pace at whi.h our knowledge of functi.nal ecology, ecosystem demographi.s, and vegetati.n-cli.ate feedbacks has advanced and the ever growi.g demand for enhanced model performance, these groupi.gs have become anti.uated and are i.enti.i.d as a key source of model uncertai.ty. The newest wave of model development i. centered on shi.ti.g the vegetati.n paradi.m away from plant functi.nal types(PFTs)and towards flexi.le trai.-based representati.ns. These models seek to i.prove errors i. ecosystem fluxes that result from i.formati.n loss due to over-aggregati.n of di.si.i.ar speci.s i.to the same functi.nal class. We advocate the i.portance of the i.clusi.n of plant hydrauli. trai. representati.n wi.hi. the new paradi.m through a framework of the whole-plant hydrauli. strategy. Plant hydrauli. strategy i. known to play a cri.i.al role i. the regulati.n of stomatal conductance and thus transpi.ati.n and latent heat flux. i. i. typi.al that coexi.ti.g plants employ opposi.g hydrauli. strategi.s, and therefore have di.parate patterns of water acqui.i.i.n and use. Hydrauli. trai.s are determi.i.ti. of drought resi.i.nce, response to di.turbance, and other demographi. processes. The formulati.n of most pesti.i.es i. propri.tary and i.di.i.ual components are therefore not generally known. i. a preli.i.ary study, we i.enti.i.d si. compounds that are often present i. pesti.i.es, of whi.h 4-nonylphenyl-polyethylene glycol （NP-40） was found to be the most toxi.. i. thi. study, we i.vesti.ated the toxi.i.y of NP-40 and underlyi.g mechani.m i. neuronal SK-N-SH cells. Exposure to NP 40 at concentrati.ns hi.her than 60 μmol/L for 24 hr decreased cell vi.bi.i.y. The cytotoxi.i.y of NP-40 was ti.e- and concentrati.n-dependent. Nuclear fragmentati.n and chromati. condensati.n were apparent starti.g at 50 μmol/L NP-40, and i.creased at hi.her concentrati.ns. The expressi.n of apoptoti. factors i.cludi.g p53 and B-cell lymphoma （Bcl）-2-associ.ted X protei. was upregulated, whi.e that of the anti.apoptoti. marker Bcl-2 was downregulated at 80 μmol/L NP-40. Cytochrome c release was observed from 80 to 100 μmol/L by confocal mi.roscopy. Caspase-9 and -3/7 acti.i.i.s i.creased accordi.g to concentrati.n, and fluorescence-acti.ated cell sorti.g analysi. showed that apoptosi. was i.duced at 50 μmol/L and was i.creased at 80 μmol/L. Our fi.di.gs i.di.ate that NP-40 sti.ulates the mi.ochondri.l-medi.ted apoptosi. pathway and reacti.e oxygen speci.s producti.n i. a concentrati.n-dependent manner, and suggest that anti.xi.ant admi.i.trati.n may be an effecti.e treatment for pati.nts wi.h acute NP-40 poi.oni.g.

The development of carbon di.xi.e(CO_2) sorbents that can operate at elevated temperatures i. si.ni.i.ant for the advancement of pre-combusti.n capture ***, promoter-based systems composed of alkali.alkali.e earth metal ni.rates and/or carbonates have been consi.ered as next-generati.n soli. sorbents due to thei. i.proved CO_2 uptake and ki.eti.s. However, obtai.i.g stable MgO sorbents agai.st temperature swi.g regenerati.n sti.l remai.ed challengi.g. Herei., we report MgO-Ti._2 soli. sorbents promoted by eutecti. mi.ture(KNO_3 and Li.O_3) for elevated temperature CO_2 sorpti.n. The developed sorbents show i.proved CO_2 sorpti.n capaci.y, whi.h may be attri.uted to the alternati.e CO_2 sorpti.n pathway provi.ed by the i.ni.ati.n of hi.hly di.persed MgO i. the eutecti. mi.ture. The MgO-Ti._2 framework was also shown to assi.t i. retai.i.g the MgO confi.urati.n by constrai.i.g i.s i.teracti.n wi.h CO_2. Furthermore, i. i. demonstrated that constructi.g composi.e structures i. essenti.l to i.prove the CO_2 sorpti.n characteri.ti.s,mai.ly recyclabi.i.y, at elevated temperatures. The developed promoter i.tegrated sorbents showed excepti.nally hi.h CO_2 sorpti.n capaci.y of > 30 wt.% at an elevated temperature(300°C) wi.h pronounced stabi.i.y under temperature swi.g operati.n.
