Herein,we report on surface plasmon(SP)-sensitive semitransparent inverted polymer photovoltaic(PV)devices that are based on multilayered material systems consisting of poly(3-hexylthiophene):fullerene-derivative bulk-heterojunction PV layers and thin gold or silver *** demonstrate that these PV devices allow the simultaneous generation of both electrical power and SPs on their anodes for photoexcitation just above the optical absorption edge of the PV layers,resulting not only in attenuated total reflection,but also in attenuated photocurrent generation(APG)under the SP resonance(SPR)***,we also confirm that the biomolecular interaction of biotin–streptavidin on the PV devices can be precisely detected via apparent SPR angle shifts in the APG spectra,even without the need for complex attenuated total reflection *** highlight our view that APG measurements made using these PV devices show great potential for the development of future generations of compact and highly sensitive SPR-based optical sensors.

＜正＞ In the present study, the antiplatelet activity of hesperetin was investigated in vitro and ex vivo. Hesperetin concentration-dependently inhibited washed rabbit platelet aggregation induced by collagen and arachidonic acid （AA）. with IC50 of 20.5 ±3.5 and 69.2±5.1 μM. respectively, while has little effect U46619- or thrombin-mediated platelet aggregation, suggesting that hesperetin may selectively inhibited collagen-mediated signal transduction. Accordingly, hesperetin revealed blocking of the collagen-mediated PLC-γ2 activation, and caused a concentration-dependent decrease of arachidonic acid liberation, cytosolic calcium mobilization and serotonin release. It was also supported by the ex vivo platelet aggregation study that administration of hesperetin （100 mg/kg） potently inhibited collagen-induced platelet aggregation in rats. Furthermore, hesperetin inhibited AA-mediated platelet aggregation by interfering with COX activity as established by mea- suring the productions of TXA2 and PGD2 when arachidonic acid was added. Taken together, the present results provide a molecular basis for the antiplatelet activity of hesperetin. through inhibition of PLC-72 phosphorylation and COX activity.

The Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011 released large amounts of radionuclides, including ^（137）Cs, into the Pacific Ocean. A quasi-global ocean radioactive transport model with horizontal grid spacing of 0.5°×0.5° and 21 vertical layers was thereafter established to study the long-term transport of the Fukushima-derived ^（137）Cs in the *** simulation shows that the plume of ^（137）Cs would be rapidly transported eastward alongside the Kuroshio Current and its extensions. Contaminated waters with concentrations lower than 2 Bq/m3 would reach the west coast of North America 4 or 5 years after the accident. The ^（137）Cs tends to be carried, despite its very low concentration, into the Indian and South Pacific Oceans by 2016 via various branches of ocean ***, the ^（137）Cs concentrations in the western part of the North Pacific Ocean decrease rapidly with time. Up to now the highly contaminated waters have remained in the upper 400 m, showing no evidence of significant penetration to deeper layers.

AIM:To evaluate the effect of proton pump inhibitors(PPIs) on the development of gastrointestinal ***:All patients who were more than 20 years old and who had received a prescription for PPIs among those who visited Seoul National University Hospital from January 1,2005 to December 31,2009 were *** to the low sensitivity of the microbiologic test and the nonspecific pathologic findings,the diagnosis of gastrointestinal tuberculosis was confirmed through the presence of active ulcerations and the responses to anti-tuberculosis *** patients were divided into two groups according to treatment duration(group 1:≤ 3 mo;group 2:> 3 mo) and were followed up from the time they took the first prescription of PPIs until their last *** regression analysis was used to calculate the relative risks(RR) and 95%CI,adjusting for ***:Among the 61 834 patients exposed to PPIs(50 534 in group 1;11 300 in group 2),21 patients were diagnosed with PPI-associated gastrointestinal tuberculosis during 124 274 person-years of *** 21 patients,the 12 who revealed only scar changes in the colonoscopy were excluded from the statistical *** those who remained,2 were excluded because they underwent gastrointestinal endoscopy within 4 wk of the first prescription for *** exposure to PPI was associated with a higher mean age(55.0 ± 14.5 in group 1 vs 58.2 ± 13.3 in group 2,P < 0.001) and a higher Charlson co-morbidity index(0.50 ± 0.93 in group 1 vs 0.77 ± 1.14 in group 2,P < 0.001).The true incidence of active gastrointestinal tuberculosis was 0.65 per 1000 person-years in group 1 and 0.03 per 1 000 person-years in group *** the less-than-three-month PPI treatment period in group 1,the over-three-month PPI therapy period in group 2 was not associated with increased risk of acquiring gastrointestinal tuberculosis,after adjusting for age and co-morbidities,whereas the Charlson co-morbidity index was associated

In this study, two Heracron? woven fabrics, HT840-1 and HT840-2, were fabricated with different multifilament fibers, and their resistance to ballistic impact was investigated. For the same weight and number of plies, the HT840-2 fabric showed improved ballistic properties, compared with HT840-1;this result is contrary to the fiber and fabric properties. With the exception of the yarn’s physical properties, this behavior can be explained in terms of the number of multifilaments, which strongly influenced the ballistic mechanism, i.e., a greater number of multifilament fibers facilitates energy dissipation from a high-speed ballistic projectile. In summary, establishing this optimal number of multifilaments is the key to optimizing the ballistic properties of any given fabric.
