Different types of capital are better suited to financing technologies with different risk profiles,and structural matching between finance and technology may critically influence economic *** cross-province panel data from China,we estimated the impact of the matching relationship between regions'financial structure and technology level on economic *** show that:(ⅰ)the matching relationship had a statistically significant positive impact on economic growth;(ⅱ)structural mismatching reduced economic growth in comparison with the optimal matching point;(ⅲ)structural matching better facilitated economic growth in more developed regions;and(ⅳ)capital accumulation and technological progress were two of the main channels through which matching influenced economic *** address potential endogeneity concerns and perform robustness checks,and our results remain *** findings provide convincing evidence for the optimalfinancial structure theory and explain China's rapid growth despite its comparatively underdeveloped securities market.

Silica rods with homogeneous(hydrophilic or hydrophobic)and amphiphilic surface properties were synthesized and their efficiencies in suppressing the flow-induced droplet coalescence of immiscible polyisobutylene(PIB)/polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)blends were evaluated via in situ visualization *** flow-induced coalescence behavior of blends was found to strongly depend on the surface nature and concentration of silica rods added as well as the blend *** a trace amount of rods promoted coalescence,all kinds of rods demonstrated a morphology refinement effect at high rod *** compatibilization effects were obtained at high rod concentrations,especially for hydrophilic and amphiphilic *** on confocal laser scanning microscopy results,these phenomena observed were interpreted reasonably in terms of the selective distribution and aggregation of silica rods,which were suggested to be decisive for the stabilization mechanism and efficiency of these rods.

AIM: To explore effects of telomerase RNA-targeting phosphorothioate antisense oligodeoxynucleotides (PS-ASODN) on growth of human gastrointestinal stromal tumors transplanted in mice. METHODS: A SCID mouse model for transplantation of human gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) was established using tumor cells from a patient who was diagnosed with GIST and consequently had been treated with imatinib. GIST cells cultured for 10 passages were used for inoculation into mice. Transfection of PS-ASODN was carried out with Lipotap Liposomal Transfection Reagent. GISTs that subsequently developed in SCID mice were subjected to intratumoral injection once daily from day 7 to day 28 postinoculation, and mice were divided into the following four groups according to treatment: PS-ASODN group (5.00 μmoL/L of oligonucleotide, each mouse received 0.2 mL once daily); imatinib group (0.1 mg/g body weight); liposome negative control group (0.01 mL/g); and saline group (0.01 mL/g). On day 28, the mice were sacrificed, and tumor attributes including weight and longest and shortest diameters were measured. Tumor growth was compared between treatment groups, and telomerase activity was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Apoptosis was examined by flow cytometry. Real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to detect expression of the mRNA encoding the apoptosis inhibition B-cell leukemia/lymphoma 2 (bcl-2 ) gene. RESULTS: In the PS-ASODN group, tumor growth was inhibited by 59.437%, which was markedly higher than in the imatinib group (11.071%) and liposome negative control group (2.759%) [tumor inhibition=(mean tumor weight of control group - mean tumor weight of treatment group)/(mean tumor weight of control group) × 100%]. Telomerase activity was significantly lower (P < 0.01) in the PS-ASODN group (0.689 ± 0.158) compared with the imatinib group (1.838 ± 0.241), liposome negative control group (2.013 ± 0.273), and saline group (2.004 ± 0.163). Aspirin alleviates endothelial gap junction dysfunction through inhibition of NLRP3inflammasome activation in LPS-induced vascular injury

The loss of endothelial connective integrity and endothelial barrier dysfunction can lead to increased vascular injury, which is related to the activation of endothelial inflammasomes. There are evidences that low concentrations of aspirin can effectively prevent cardiovascular diseases. We hypothesized that low-dose aspirin could ameliorate endothelial injury by inhibiting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasomes and ultimately prevent cardiovascular diseases. Microvascular endothelial cells were stimulated by lipopolysaccharide(2 μg/mL) and administrated by 0.1–2 mmol/L aspirin. The wild type mice were stimulated with LPS(100 μg/kg/day), and 1 h later treated with aspirin(12.5, 62.5, or125 mg/kg/day) and dexamethasone(0.0182 mg/kg/day) for 7 days. Plasma and heart were harvested for measurement of ELISA and immunofluorescence analyses. We found that aspirin could inhibit NLRP3 inflammasome formation and activation in vitro in dose-dependent manner and has correlation between the NLRP3 inflammasome and the ROS/TXNIP pathway. We also found that low-concentration aspirin could inhibit the formation and activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and restore the expression of theendothelial tight junction protein zonula occludens-1/2(ZO1/2). We assume that aspirin can ameliorate the endothelial layer dysfunction by suppressing the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome.

Dear Editor, Grain length （size） and weight are essential components of crop yield. To date, many QTLs/genes for these traits have been identified. GS3 encodes a putative transmembrane protein and functions as a negative regulator, and its larger-grain allele contains a nonsense mutation causing a 178-aa truncation （Fan et al., 2006）. GL3.1/qGL3 encodes a putative protein phosphatase and also acts as a negative regulator of grain size （Qi et al., 2012; Zhang et al., 2012）. Another negative regulator of grain size and weight is TGW6, which hydrolyzes indole-3-acetic acid （IAA）-glucose into IAA and glucose （Ishimaru et al., 2013）.

Extracellular vesicles(EVs)such as microvesicles(MIVs)play an important role in intercellular *** are small membrane vesicles sized 100e1000 nm in diameter that are released by many types of cells,such as mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),tumor cells and adipose-derived stem cells(ADSC).As EVs can carry out autocrine and paracrine functions by controlling multiple cell processes,it is conceivable that EVs can be used as delivery vehicles for treating several clinical conditions,such as to improve cardiac angiogenesis after myocardial infarction(MI).Here,we seek to investigate whether ADSC-derived MIVs contain microRNAs that regulate angiogenesis and affect cell migration of endothelial *** first characterized the ADSC-derived MIVs and found that the MIVs had a size range of 100 e300 nm,and expressed the MIV marker protein *** then analyzed the microRNAs in ADSCs and ADSC-derived MIVs and demonstrated that ADSC-derived MIVs selectively released a panel of microRNAs,several of which were related to angiogenesis,including two members of the let-7 ***,we demonstrated that ADSC-derived MIVs promoted the cell migration and invasion of the HUVEC endothelial *** PKH26-labeled ADSC-derived MIVs were effectively uptaken into the cytoplasm of HUVEC ***,our results demonstrate that the ADSC-derived MIVs can promote migration and invasion abilities of endothelial cells,suggesting pro-angiogenetic *** studies should focus on investigating the roles and mechanisms through which ADSC-derived MIVs regulate angiogenesis.
