An Investigation into Food Balance and Its Relationship to the Physical Activity Practised within the School Context for Both Males and Females Aged 10-13 Years

The preliminary aim of this study was to reach food balance （quantitative and qualitative） of the meals provided by the school canteen at the Wilaya of Tieret, and its relationship to the physical activity practised, adequately through using a definite method to weight the amounts of food distributed for the meals, and to calculate the energetic expenditure of the physical activity, with an informative exploration of data and the value standards of the dispensed energy that is highly recommended by the （CNRS/CNERA 1992） center. The results of the main findings revealed that the value of macronutrients was smaller than the approved standards. Additionally, the value of the total protein weight per a day was 49.23 g, the fat value as 24.11 g and carbohydrate value as 190.87 g. The results showed also that protein diversity, animal and vegetal fats did not match the standards since the animal protein ratio was 27.76% and the vegetal as 72.24% from the whole total of protein. The percentage of the vegetal fat was 43.49% and the animal 56.31% Moreover, there is a weak correlation between the value of the expended and consumed energy. The Pearson＇s coefficient of males reached 0.09- and 0.39- for females. Furthermore, the value of the consumed energy did not fit the standards recommended for both males and females ages between 10/13 years old. On the basis of the previous pieces of information, we majorly recommend the achievement of a similar investigation for the rest parts of the country in order to reach a balanced nutrition for our children on internal schools.

Short Term Effects of Olive Mill Waste Water on Soil Chemical Properties under Semi Arid Mediterranean Conditions

The aim of this work is to assess the short term effect of OMWW （olive mill waste water） application on chemical and biological soil properties. A field experiment was carried out in southern Tunisia. OMWW application was done at rates equivalent to 0, 15, 30 and 45 m^3/ha. Results showed that increasing rates of OMWW enhance the soil fertility due to its richness in organic matter such as N and P. A rapid increase of microbial biomass （during 14 days of incubation） of OMWW amended soils occurred. However, a high increase in salinity values and phenolic compounds concentrations was observed during this experiment.

The solar power conversion efficiency of a gallium indium phosphide(GaInP)/silicon(Si)tandem solar cell has been investigated by means of a physical device simulator considering both mechanically stacked and monolithic *** particular,to interconnect the bottom and top sub-cells of the monolithic tandem,a gallium arsenide(GaAs)-based tunnel-junction,***(n+)/GaAs(p+),which assures a low electrical resistance and an optically low-loss connection,has been *** J–V characteristics of the single junction cells,monolithic tandem,and mechanically stacked structure have been calculated extracting the main photovoltaic *** analysis of the tunnel-junction behaviour has been also *** mechanically stacked cell achieves an efficiency of 24.27%whereas the monolithic tandem reaches an efficiency of 31.11%under AM1.5 spectral *** quantum efficiency simulations have evaluated the useful wavelength *** results and discussion could be helpful in designing high efficiency monolithic multijunction GaInP/Si solar cells involving a thin GaAs(n+)/GaAs(p+)tunnel junction.

Performance Analysis of the Flywheel Assembly Design Using SolidWorks Modeling and Simulation Capabilities

The flywheel energy storage system (FESS) has been rediscovered a few years ago, it is a rotary system allowing the storage and restoration of kinetic energy which has an inertia wheel. The current paper investigates an assembly design of the flywheel for durable, maintainable and optimal performance. The designed model is based on a geometrical configuration which was already studied in a previous research. Using SolidWorks modelling and simulation capabilities, the model was designed and investigated with different combination of materials. A total of 16 combinations has been tested at high speed and then analyzed in order to optimize the effect of materials on the efficiency of the flywheel and particularly on the specific energy and stress Von-Mises stress. This research shows that a good geometric design of the flywheel and selection of combination of two materials can improve its energy storage capacity. Maximum specific energy of 55,764.538 J/Kg, is observed in the flywheel of combined material which is about 13% higher than flywheel of a single material.

Objective:The aim of this study was to evaluate the anlilungal activity of the major fraction of fatty acids methyl esters(FAMEs)isolated from Linum usitatissimum *** oil collected from Bechar department(Algeria).Methods:The assessment ol antifungal activity was carried out in terms of percentage of radial growth on solid medium potatoes dextrose agar PDA)and biomass growth inhibition on liquid medium(potatoes dextrose broth PDB)against two ***:The FAMEs was found to be effective in inhibiting the radial mycelial growth of Aspergillus fluctis more than Aspergillus ochraceus on all tested *** highest antifungal index was found to be(54.19%]compared to Aspergillus ochraeeus(40.48%).The results of the antifungal activity of the FAMEs inhibition of bioniass on liquid medium gave no discounted results,but this does not exclude the antifungal ***:We can assume that the observed antifungal potency may be due to the abundance of linoleic andα-linolenic acids in linseed oil which appears to be promising to treat fungal infections,storage fungi and food spoilage in food industry field.

Many methods have been proposed to extract the most relevant areas of an image. This article explores the method of edge detection by the multiscale product （MP） of the wavelet transform. The wavelet used in this work is the first derivative of a bidimensional Gaussian function. InitiaRy, we construct the wavelet, then we present the MP approach which is applied to binary and grey levels images. This method is compared with other methods without noise and in the presence of noise. The experiment results show fhht the MP method for edge detection outPerforms conventional methods even in noisy environments.

Characterization and Classification of Groundwater from Wells Using an Electronic Tongue (Kairouan, Tunisia)

A sensor array comprising 9 potentiometric chemical sensors and some pattern recognition tools for the data processing has been applied in order to characterize the groundwater in the plain of Kairouan Region (Tunisia). A total of 17 groundwater samples were collected from three different villages and analyzed for their chemical components. Nine chemical parameters were determined: Potassium, Sodium, Calcium, Ammonium, Cadmium, Chlorides, Nitrates, Fluoride and pH. Multi-sensor responses measured in each water sample were diagnosed by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Cluster Analysis (CA). PCA is a procedure for reducing data redundancy. CA is used to detect spatial similarity among sampling sites. This methodology is simple, rapid and the obtained results demonstrate that the electronic tongue technique based on the sensor array combined with pattern recognition method could be a useful tool for the characterization and the classification of wells water samples.

Geophysical Investigation of the Triassic Salt Material Hazard: El Fahs Case Example (Northern Tunisia)

The Tunisian territory (area of diapirs) is exposed to the risks of ground movements linked to water, some of which are related to the phenomenon of dissolution of gypsum, allowing the appearance of underground cavities which present natural risks and set people in danger. The analysis of the hazard was determined by the field study coupled with the application of geophysical methods to locate and map the cavities and identify their dimensions and their positions in the subsoil. In the region of El Fahs (40 km NW of Tunis): we used a non-destructive method, georadar (GPR) with a 200 MHz antenna band-width, and an electric method, by using the electric tomography of which we have applicated the sequence of dipole-dipole measurement. The results ob-tained were examined and interpreted according to 2D profiles. The geophysi-cal methods of GPR and electrical tomography aim to detect many calvities in different depths. However, the geological radar was able to identify several cavities and the zones of dissolution whose investigation depth did not exceed the first 3 meters. On the contrary, the electric tomography method allowing the presence of several deeper underground cavities with larger dimensions ex-tended to 64 meters. To conclude, the geological and hydrogeological contexts of the terrain studied and on the state of the soil and subsoil allow us to better understanding the mechanisms of the establishment of the dissolution phe-nomenon and the appearance of cavities in the basement. The analysis of the predisposing factors present in the study area shows that the geodynamic con-text of the Triassic ascent takes place according to a precise thermodynamic process that favors the phenomenon of dissolution of the gypsum.

Speleogenesis and Evidences Tectonic into Lakhssas Karst System (Western Anti-Atlas, Morocco)

This study aims to highlight evidences of tectonic and geodynamic features within Lakhssas high plateau karst area (Moroccan Western Anti-Atlas), using an original approach based on geospeleothems analysis.?This work is organized by the speleogenesis process, controlled by tectonics and interference of karst intrinsic parameters.?Regarding the first issue, a multi-layered study compiling inventoried speleological spaces with tectonic field data analysis then with lithological, hydrogeological and geomorphological features, has demonstrated that speleogenesis processes are deeply controlled by tectonic framework so described as “speleotects”. Subsequent studies in terms of sedimentology, geomorphology, hydrogeology and dating deposits, are planned to ground those conclusions.
