Background:Immunocompromised individuals have an increased risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection and severe outcomes,but we pay less attention to these people.Athymic nude mice are a murine strain with a spontaneous deficiency of the Foxn1 gene,which can result in thymic degeneration or its absence,leading to immunosuppression and a decrease in the number of T cells,and are widely used in preclinical evaluations of disease in immunocompromised populations.Methods:We investigated the protection of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)inactivated vaccine(CoronaVac)against the infection of wild-type SARS-CoV-2(WH-09)or Omicron variant utilizing a hybrid-type nude-hACE2 mouse model.Results:Compared with nude-hACE2/W mice,the viral load in the brain and lung tissue of nude-hACE2 mice(nude-hACE2/WV)infected with WH-09 after vaccination significantly decreased,and the histopathological changes were also reduced.The viral load in the brain and lung tissue of nude-hACE2 mice(nude-hACE2/OV)infected with the Omicron variant after vaccination was lower than that in nude-hACE2/O,but histopathological symptoms did not improve significantly.Conclusion:CoronaVac provides some protection against infection of both WH-09 and the Omicron variant in the nude-hACE2 mice.Our findings aimed to provide a reference for vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 in immunocompromised populations.

Previous study demonstrated that Ganoderma meroterpene derivative(GMD)increased the abundance of butyrate-producing bacteria in gut and subsequently delivered anti-metabolic disorder effect of host.To specify the key commensal bacteria associating with the beneficial effects,we tried to isolate and compare the microbiota from the cecal samples of GMD-and vehicle-treated ob/ob mice,and further identified butyrate-producing bacterial strains.It was found that Faeciroseburia intestinalis was enriched and 11 strains affiliated to F.intestinalis were cultivated from the gut of GMD-treated mice.In vitro assay attested butyrate production by representative strain of F.intestinalis.Oral administration with F.intestinalis further demonstrated its benefits on regulating hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia,on decreasing plasma lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and inflammation,and on improving hepatic injuries.Treatment with F.intestinalis effectively enhanced the level of gut butyrate,which subsequently ameliorated the intestinal barrier function and activated epithelial PPAR-γ signaling pathway to regulate microbiome homeostasis in gut.Our study demonstrated that the causal relationship between the butyrate-producing bacteria and the GMD's therapeutic effects and confirmed the important function of the butyrate-producing F.intestinalis in maintaining host metabolism homeostasis.

Graphene oxide （GO） is a graphene derivative bearing various oxygen-containing functional groups attached to the basal plane and to the edges of the graphene lattice and hence has a unique structure in which numerous hydrophobic sp2 clusters are isolated within the hydrophilic sp3 C-O matrix. In this study, the hydrophilic nature and water-transporting properties of GO were exploited to promote germination and growth of plants. It was found that a low dose of GO significantly promoted the germination of spinach and chive in soil. The oxygen-containing functional groups of GO collected water, and the hydrophobic sp2 domains transported water to the seeds to accelerate the germination of plants. The strong interaction between GO and the surfaces of soil grains stabilized GO in the soil and prevented dissipation of GO. In addition, no GO was detected either on the surface or inside the cells of plants; this finding confirmed that GO was not phytotoxic. Therefore, GO may serve as a promising nontoxic additive to increase a plant yield.

To achieve a complete industrial chain of hydrogen energy,the development of efficient electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is of great concerns.Herein,a nickel nitride supported platinum(Pt)catalyst with highly exposed Pt(110)facets(Pt_((110))-Ni_(3)N)is obtained for catalyzing HER.Combined X-ray spectra and density functional theory studies demonstrate that the interfacial electronic interaction between Pt and Ni3N support can promote the hydrogen evolution on Pt(110)facets by weakening hydrogen adsorption.As a result,the Pt_((110))-Ni_(3)N catalyst delivers an obviously higher specific activity than commercial 20 wt.%Pt/C in acidic media.This work suggests that the suitable interface modulation may play a vital role in rationally designing advanced electrocatalysts.

A polyphenolic alkaloid-enriched extract(PAE)was prepared from the fruiting bodies of a wild edible mushroom Sarcodon leucopus.Oral administration of PAE reduced hyperglycemia,hyperlipidemia,hepatic steatosis,and LPS-related infl ammation in high fat diet-induced obese(DIO)mice.Furthermore,we show that PAE produces taxonomic and predicted functional changes in the gut microbiome of DIO mice.A signifi cant decrease in the family of Ruminococcaceae,especially the secondary bile acid-producing bacteria of Intestinimonas and Anaerotruncus,is detected in the gut microbiome of PAE-treate mice.Accordingly,reductions of deoxycholic acid and lithocholic acid are found in the feces of PAE-treated DIO mice,which benefi ts for the intestinal integrity and the reduction of infl ammation.A gut microbiota related mechanism for the anti-metabolic syndrome effects of the PAE is proposed.We suppose the polyphenolic alkaloid extract from S.leucopus be a new and benefi cial prebiotic regulating glucose and lipid metabolisms.

Although it is believed that glioma is derived from brain tumor stem cells, the source and molecular signal pathways of these cells are still unclear. In this study, we used stable doxycycline-inducible transgenic mouse brain tumor models （c-myc/SV40Tag＋/Tet-on＋） to explore the malignant trans- formation potential of neural stem cells by observing the differences of neural stem cells and brain tumor stem cells in the tumor models. Results showed that chromosome instability occurred in brain tumor stem cells. The numbers of cytolysosomes and autophagosomes in brain tumor stem cells and induced neural stem cells were lower and the proliferative activity was obviously stronger than that in normal neural stem cells. Normal neural stem cells could differentiate into glial fibrillary acidic protein-positive and microtubule associated protein-2-positive cells, which were also negative for nestin. However, glial fibrillary acidic protein/nestin, microtubule associated protein-2/nestin, and glial fibrillary acidic protein/microtubule associated protein-2 double-positive cells were found in induced neural stem cells and brain tumor stem cells. Results indicate that induced neural stem cells are similar to brain tumor stem cells, and are possibly the source of brain tumor stem cells.

Construction of micro tumor sensitive theranostic nanoagents that can increase the accuracy of imaging diagnosis and boost the therapeutic efficacy has been demonstrated for a promising approach for diagnosis and treatment of cancer.Herein,we reported a novel super-paramagnetic iron oxide(SPIO)based nanoplatform that possess significantly enhanced magnetic resonance property and photothermal effect for tumor theranostic purpose.This polyethylene glycol with four phenylboronic acid(PEG-B4)/CNTs@porphyrin(ph)/SPIO(BCPS)nanoplatform was simply prepared via integrated SPIO,ph,and a novel dendrimer with PEG liner and four PBA groups(PEG-B4)on the surface of carbon nanotubes(CNTs).Subsequently,a significant T2 relaxation rate enhanced can be achieved by the reduced accessibility of water to SPIO clustering.Moreover,the synergetic enhanced photothermal from BCPS nanoplatform contributed to better photothermal effect for cancer therapy.Furthermore,the targeting ability to sialic acid overexpressed tumor was further introduced from phenylboronic acid from PEG-B4.We showed that BCPS nanoplatform could not only selectively identify solid tumors and detect micro-sized metastatic tumor(1 mm)in the liver,but also effectively ablate tumors in a xenograft model,thereby achieving a complete cure rate of 100%at low laser dose.Our results highlight the potential of BCPS nanoplatform for accurate micro-tumor diagnosis and effective tumor therapy.

This paper presents an experimental investigation of the turbulent boundary layers on both groove and smooth flat surfaces. The flow structures were shown in a water tunnel using the hydrogen-bubble flow visualization technique. The measurement results indicate that: (1) the grooves can effectively reduce accumulation of low-speed fluids, decrease the number of the low-speed streaks and depress oscillation of the streaks in the sublayer; (2) the grooves can restrain forming of the horseshoe vortices in the buffer region; (3) the grooves bate oscillation and kinking of the quasi-streamwise vortices and restrain production of the hairpin vortices and the ring vortices, reducing both frequency and intensity of the turbulence bursting; (4) the grooves directly affect the flow structures in the sublayer of the boundary layer and then modulate the flow field up to the buffer region and the logarithmic region by restraining development and interaction of the vortices.

为解决悬臂式掘进机回转台绞耳易撕裂的问题,以EBZ220SZD800/11G型掘进机回转台绞耳为例,介绍了回转台的功能及其在应用中存在的问题,创建了回转台模型,借助仿真软件分析了回转台工作时应力、应变的具体分布情况。由分布结果发现,回转台升降绞耳处易出现应力集中现象。对此提出了具体改进措施,进一步增加回转台升降绞耳的厚度,回转台升降绞耳不再出现明显的应力集中现象,绞耳不再发生撕裂,且绞耳工作稳定可靠,取得了较好的改进效果。

In the paper, cooperative two-stage network games are studied. At the first stage of the game, players form a network, while at the second stage players choose their behaviors according to the network realized at the first stage. As a cooperative solution concept in the game, the core is considered.It is proved that some imputations from the core are time inconsistent, whereas one can design for them a time-consistent imputation distribution procedure. Moreover, the strong time consistency problem is also investigated.
