Cd Se/Zn S quantum dots induce photodynamic effects and cytotoxicity in pancreatic cancer cells

AIM: To investigate the photodynamic effect of Cd Se/Zn S quantum dots(QDs) on pancreatic cancer cells and elucidate the probable ***: The pancreatic cancer cell line SW1990 was treated with different concentrations of Cd Se/Zn S QDs(0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 μmol/L), with or without illumination. The viability of SW1990 cells was tested using the Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8) assay. The ultrastructural changes of SW1990 cells were observed by transmission electron microscopy. Apoptosis was detected by nuclear staining and flow cytometry(FCM). Reactive oxygen species(ROS) were measured by dichlorofluorescein diacetate via fluorescence microscopy. Expression of Bax, Bcl-2 and caspase-3 was measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and protein immunoblotting 24 h after SW1990 cells were treated with Cd Se/Zn S QDs and ***: The CCK-8 assay results showed that both Cd Se/Zn S QDs with and without illumination suppressed SW1990 cell proliferation. Cell viability was significantly lower when illuminated or with a longer incubation time and a higher light dose. Cd Se/Zn S QDs with illumination caused ultrastructural changes in SW1990 cells, such as organelle degeneration and chromatin condensation and aggregation at the periphery of the nucleus. Fluorescence microscopy and FCM showed that Cd Se/Zn S QDs(1.5 μmol/L) with illumination increased SW1990 cell apoptosis(53.2%) and ROS generation compared with no illumination. Real-time PCR showed that expression of Bax and caspase-3 was upregulated and Bcl-2 was downregulated. Immunoblotting results were consistent with real-time PCR results. Inhibition of ROS and apoptosis both attenuated QD-photodynamictherapy-induced cell ***: Cd Se/Zn S QDs can be used as a photosensitizer to inhibit SW1990 cell proliferation through ROS generation and apoptotic protein expression regulation.

Objective This study aimed to explore the relationships between residential greenness and cardiometabolic risk factors among rural adults in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region(Xinjiang)and thus provide a theoretical basis and data support for improving the health of residents in this *** We recruited 9,723 adult rural residents from the 51st Regiment of the Third Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in September *** normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)was used to estimate residential *** generalized linear mixed model(GLMM)was used to examine the association between residential greenness and cardiometabolic risk *** Higher residential greenness was associated with lower cardiometabolic risk factor *** adjustments were made for age,sex,education,and marital status,for each interquartile range(IQR)increase of NDVI500-m,the risk of hypertension was reduced by 10.3%(OR=0.897,95%CI=0.836-0.962),the risk of obesity by 20.5%(OR=0.795,95%CI=0.695-0.910),the risk of type 2 diabetes by 15.1%(OR=0.849,95%CI=0.740-0.974),and the risk of dyslipidemia by 10.5%(OR=0.895,95%CI=0.825-0.971).Risk factor aggregation was reduced by 20.4%(OR=0.796,95%CI=0.716-0.885)for the *** analysis showed that NDVI500-m was associated more strongly with hypertension,dyslipidemia,and risk factor aggregation among male *** association of NDVI500-m with type 2 diabetes was stronger among participants with a higher education ***10 and physical activity mediated 1.9%-9.2%of the associations between NDVI500-m and obesity,dyslipidemia,and risk factor *** Higher residential greenness has a protective effect against cardiometabolic risk factors among rural residents in *** the area of green space around residences is an effective measure to reduce the burden of cardiometabolic-related diseases among rural residents in Xinjiang.

A biological sensing structure with a high-order mode(E^(y)_(21))is designed,which is composed of a suspended racetrack micro-resonator(SRTMR)and a microfluidic *** mode characteristics,coupling properties,and sensing performances are simulated by using the finite element method(FEM).To analyze the mode confinement property,the confinement factors in the core and cladding of the suspended waveguide for the E^(x)_(11),E^(y)_(11),and E^(y)_(21) are *** simulation results show that the refractive index(RI)sensitivity of the proposed sensing structure can be improved by using the high-order mode(Ey 21).The RI sensitivity for the E^(y)_(21) mode is~201 nm/RIU,which is twice to thrice higher than those for the E^(x)_(11) mode and the E^(y)_(11) *** a commercial spectrometer,the proposed sensing structure based on the SRTMR achieves a limit of detection(LOD)of -4.7×10^(-6) *** with the microfluidic channel,the SRTMR can possess wide applications in the clinical diagnostic assays and biochemical detections.

The Equivalence between Property (ω) and Weyl’s Theorem

We call T C B（H） consistent in Fredholm and index （briefly a CFI operator） if for each B ∈ B（H）, TB and BT are Fredholm together and the same index of B, or not Fredholm together. Using a new spectrum defined in view of the CFI operator, we give the equivalence of Weyl＇s theorem and property （ω） for T and its conjugate operator T^＊. In addition, the property （ω） for operator matrices is considered.
