A novel,safe,economic and sensitive method of spectrophotometric estimation has been developed using Azeoptropic mixture (water∶methanol:60∶40,v/v) for the quantitative determination of Lornoxicam,a practically water-insoluble drug.Hence,Lornoxicam stock solution was prepared in Azeoptropic mixture.Lornoxicam showed maximum absorbance at 383 nm.Beer's law was obeyed in the concentration range 4-24 μg/mL with regression coefficient of 0.999.The method was validated in terms of linearity (R2=0.999),precision (CV for intra-day and inter-day was 0.28 0.68 and 0.12-0.92,respectively),accuracy (98.03-100.59％ w/w) and specificity.This method is simple,precise,accurate,sensitive and reproducible and can be used for the routine quality control testing of the marketed formulations.

Graphene has remarkable strength,such as yield strength and elastic constant.The dynamic behaviour of graphene sheet is affected by geometrical variation in atomic arrangement.This paper introduced graphene with armchair atomic structure for estimating fundamental natural frequencies.The presented analysis can be useful for the possible high frequency nanomechanical resonator systems.The analytical formulation,based on classical plate theory and continuum solid modelling based finite element method have been performed for estimation of fundamental natural frequencies of single layer graphene sheet(SGLS)with different boundary conditions.The free edge and clamped edge boundary conditions have been considered.For simplifying analytical formulations,Blevins approach for dynamic solution has been adopted and for validating analytical results.The finite element analysis of SLGS has been performed using ANSYS software.The effect of variation in geometrical parameters in terms of width and length of SLGS has been analysed for realization of ultra-high frequency based nanomechanical resonator systems.

The present paper is concerned with the study of flow,heat and mass transfer characteristics in the unsteady natural convective magneto hydrodynamics Casson fluid flow past over an oscillating vertical plate.The governing partial differential equations are solved analytically using Laplace transform technique and numerically using Matlab software.Expressions of skin friction,Nusselt number and Sherwood number are obtained.The features of the fluid flow,heat and mass transfer characteristics are analyzed by plotting graphs and the physical aspects are discussed in detail.

This article studies effects of heat generation/absorption and chemical reaction on the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)Casson fluid flow past over exponentially accelerated vertical plate embedded in porous medium.It is assumed that the bounding plate has ramped temperature with ramped surface concentration and isothermal temperature with ramped surface concentration.This phenomenon is modeled in the form of system of partial differential equations with initial and boundary conditions.The goveming dimensionless equations are solved using Laplace transfom technique and expressions for velocity,temperature and concentration profiles are obtained.Expressions for skin friction,Nusselt number and Sherwood number are also derived and represented in tabular form.Effect of pertinent parameters on velocity,temperature and concentration profiles are presented through graphically.

Background:Aluminium phosphide is a usual ingredient of rodenticide and its poisoning is a common cause of suicide in India.Signs and symptoms of its toxicity are well-known.Its toxic effects are mainly due to liberation of phosphine gas which causes cell hypoxia due to inhibition of oxidative phosphorylation and results in circulatory failure.Aims and Objectives:Mortality with aluminium phosphide is high as there is no specific antidote available yet.And hence we need to explore holistic treatment approach to improve patient outcomes in aluminium phosphide poisoning.Materials and Methods:Present study discusses a holistic treatment approach to aluminium phosphide poisoning in this retrospective analysis of 100 cases from a tertiary care hospital in this study.Results:Around 65%patients survived due to the holistic treatment approach and correct treatment protocol with supportive therapy.Conclusions:The aggressive and appropriate management with continuous hemodynamic monitoring and holistic treatment approach can reduce the mortality significantly in aluminium phosphide poisoning.

Magnesium oxide（MgO） is one of the metal oxides having unique properties with numerous potential industrial applications.In this study,MgO and vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles were synthesized by sol–gel method in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIM][BF_4] and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [OMIM][BF_4] ionic liquids.Vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles exhibited nanosphere and nanorod morphologies with 40–80 nm in particle size,primarily due to the influence of ionic liquids as demonstrated by high-resolution scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.Characteristics of nanoparticles were also studied by thermal gravimetric analysis,X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.Photodegradation ability of synthesized nanoparticles was evaluated for methylene blue（MB） in specially designed UV reactor.Photodegradation is found to be dependent on doping,and particle characteristics change due to the influence of ionic liquid.The ionic liquid-assisted vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles showed good reusability under UV irradiation and MB degradation ability under visible light.

Monitoring biofouling based on aerobic respiration in reverse osmosis system

A monitoring method of biofouling in reverse osmosis(RO) system was proposed based on the fluorescent signal of resorufin, which is reduced by nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide released from viable cells during aerobic respiration. The fluorescent signal of resorufin reduced by planktonic cells and microorganisms of biofilm showed linearity, indicating its feasibility to monitor biofouling in a RO system. For the application of the method to the lab-scale RO system, the injection concentration of resazurin and the injection flow rate were optimized. Biofilm on RO membranes continuously operated in a lab-scale RO system was estimated by resorufin fluorescence under optimized detection condition. As a result,resorufin fluorescence on RO membrane showed a significant increase in which the permeability of RO system decreased by 30.48%. Moreover, it represented the development of biofilm as much as conventional biofilm parameters such as adenosine triphosphate,extracellular polymeric substances, and biofilm thickness. The proposed method could be used as a sensitive and low-cost technology to monitor biofouling without autopsy of membranes.
