Track-Pattern-Based characteristics of Extratropical Transitioning Tropical cyclones in the Western North Pacific

Based on the Regional Specialized Meteorological center(RSMc)Tokyo-Typhoon center best-track data and the NcEP-NcAR reanalysis dataset,extratropical transitioning(ET)tropical cyclones(ETcs)over the western North Pacific(WNP)during 1951–2021 are classified into six clusters using the fuzzy c-means clustering method(FcM)according to their track *** characteristics of the six hard-clustered ETcs with the highest membership coefficient are *** tropical cyclones(Tcs)that were assigned to clusters c2,c5,and c6 made landfall over eastern Asian countries,which severely threatened these *** landfalling Tcs,93.2%completed their ET after landfall,whereas 39.8%of ETcs completed their transition within one *** frequency of ETcs over the WNP has decreased in the past four decades,wherein cluster c5 demonstrated a significant decrease on both interannual and interdecadal timescales with the expansion and intensification of the western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH).This large-scale circulation pattern is favorable for c2 and causes it to become the dominant track pattern,owning to it containing the largest number of intensifying ETcs among the six clusters,a number that has increased insignificantly over the past four *** surface roughness variation and three-dimensional background circulation led to c5 containing the maximum number of landfalling Tcs and a minimum number of intensifying *** results will facilitate a better understanding of the spatiotemporal distributions of ET events and associated environment background fields,which will benefit the effective monitoring of these events over the WNP.

The development of aqueous zinc ion battery cathode materials with high capacity and high magnification is still a ***,porous vanadium oxide/carbon(p-VO_(x)@c,mainly VO_(2) with a small amount of V_(2)O_(3)) core/shell microspheres with oxygen vacancies are facilely fabricated by using a vanadium-based metal-organic framework(MIL-100(V)) as a sacrificial *** unique structure can improve the conductivity of the VO_(x),accelerate electrolyte diffusion,and suppress structural collapse during ***,H_(2)O molecules are introduced into the interlayer of VO_(x) through a highly efficient in-situ electrochemical activation process,facilitating the intercalation and diffusion of zinc *** the activation,an optimal sample exhibits a high specific capacity of 464.3 mA h g^(-1) at0.2 A g^(-1) and 395.2 mA h g^(-1) at 10 A g^(-1),indicating excellent rate ***,the optimal sample maintains a capacity retention of about 89.3% after 2500 cycles at 10 A g^(-1).Density functional theory calculation demonstrates that the presence of oxygen vacancies and intercalated water molecules can significantly reduce the diffusion barrier for zinc *** addition,it is proved that the storage of zinc ions in the cathode is achieved by reversible intercalation/extraction during the charge and discharge process through various ex-situ analysis *** work demonstrates that the p-VO_(x)@c has great potential for applications in aqueous ZIBs after electrochemical activation.

Progressive fragmentation of granular assemblies within rockslides: Insights from discrete-continuous numerical modeling

Rock fragmentation plays a critical role in rock avalanches,yet conventional approaches such as classical granular flow models or the bonded particle model have limitations in accurately characterizing the progressive disintegration and kinematics of multi-deformable rock blocks during *** present study proposes a discrete-continuous numerical model,based on a cohesive zone model,to explicitly incorporate the progressive fragmentation and intricate interparticle interactions inherent in *** rock granular assemblies are released along an inclined plane and flow onto a horizontal *** numerical scenarios are established to incorporate variations in slope angle,initial height,friction coefficient,and particle *** evolutions of fragmentation,kinematic,runout and depositional characteristics are quantitatively analyzed and compared with experimental and field data.A positive linear relationship between the equivalent friction coefficient and the apparent friction coefficient is *** general,the granular mass predominantly exhibits characteristics of a dense granular flow,with the Savage number exhibiting a decreasing trend as the volume of mass *** process of particle breakage gradually occurs in a bottom-up manner,leading to a significant increase in the angular velocities of the rock blocks with increasing *** simulation results reproduce the field observations of inverse grading and source stratigraphy preservation in the *** propose a disintegration index that incorporates factors such as drop height,rock mass volume,and rock *** findings demonstrate a consistent linear relationship between this index and the fragmentation degree in all tested scenarios.

High-performance formaldehyde prediction for indoor air quality assessment using time series deep learning

Indoor air pollution resulting from volatile organic compounds(VOcs),especially formaldehyde,is a significant health concern needed to predict indoor formaldehyde concentration(cf)in green intelligent building *** study develops a thermal and wet coupling calculation model of porous fabric to account for the migration of formaldehyde molecules in indoor air and cotton,silk,and polyester fabric with heat flux in Harbin,Beijing,Xi’an,Shanghai,Guangzhou,and Kunming,*** time-by-time indoor dry-bulb temperature(T),relative humidity(RH),and cf,obtained from verified simulations,were collated and used as input data for the long short-term memory(LSTM)of the deep learning model that predicts indoor multivariate time series cf from the secondary source effects of indoor fabrics(adsorption and release of formaldehyde).The trained LSTM model can be used to predict multivariate time series cf at other emission times and *** LSTM-based model also predicted cf with mean absolute percentage error(MAPE),symmetric mean absolute percentage error(SMAPE),mean absolute error(MAE),mean square error(MSE),and root mean square error(RMSE)that fell within 10%,10%,0.5,0.5,and 0.8,*** addition,the characteristics of the input dataset,model parameters,the prediction accuracy of different indoor fabrics,and the uncertainty of the data set are *** results show that the prediction accuracy of single data set input is higher than that of temperature and humidity input,and the prediction accuracy of LSTM is better than recurrent neural network(RNN).The method’s feasibility was established,and the study provides theoretical support for guiding indoor air pollution control measures and ensuring human health and safety.

AIM To investigate the association between a recent gastrointestinal(GI) endoscopy and the subsequent risk of pyogenic liver abscess(PLA).METHODS We designed a nested case control study. Using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database, 2135 patients with a first diagnosis of PLA were identified from 1998 to 2011. Another 10675 patients without PLA matched by age and sex were selected as reference controls. We identified and compared the possible risk factors for PLA and GI endoscopies performed before the index date(when PLA was diagnosed) between the two cohorts. Multivariate analysis was conducted to examine the risk of PLA within the 90 d after the GI *** Patients with a history of diabetes [adjusted odds ratio(a OR) = 4.92, 95%cI: 1.78-13.61], end-stage renal disease(a OR = 3.98, 95%cI: 1.45-10.91), biliary tract infection(a OR = 2.68, 95%cI: 2.11-3.40), liver cirrhosis(a OR = 2.19, 95%cI: 1.39-3.46), GI malignancies(a OR = 5.68, 95%cI: 4.23-7.64), appendicitis(a OR = 3.16, 95%cI: 2.27-4.41), diverticulitis(a OR = 1.64, 95%cI: 1.01-2.64), and recent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(a OR = 27.04, 95%cI: 11.65-62.72) were significantly associated with an increased risk of PLA. After adjusting for the above risk factors and the frequency of outpatient department visits and abdominal ultrasounds during 90 d before the index date, an upper GI panendoscopy(a OR = 2.75, 95%cI: 2.05-3.69) but not a lower GI endoscopy(a OR = 1.07, 95%cI: 0.62-1.86) was significantly associated with *** An upper GI panendoscopy performed before 90 d may increase the risk of PLA.

The contemporary role of metastasectomy in the management of metastatic Rcc

Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Multiscale Sic_p Hybrid Reinforced 6061 Aluminum Matrix composites

The performance of solid solution aging treatment on aluminum matrix composites prepared by powder metallurgy and reinforced with 6061 aluminum alloy powder as matrix;meanwhile, nano silicon carbide particles(nm Si cp), submicron silicon carbide particles(1 μm Si cp) and Ti particles were studied. The Al/Si cp composite powder was prepared by high-energy ball milling, and then cold-pressed, sintered, hotextruded, and then heat-treated with different solution temperatures and aging times for the extruded composites. Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS), X-ray diffractometer(XRD) and extrusion testing were used to analyze and test the microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminum matrix composites. The results show that after the multi-stage solid solution at 530 ℃×2 h+535 ℃×2 h+540 ℃×2 h, the particles are mainly equiaxed grains and uniformly distributed. There is no reinforcement agglomeration, and the surface is dense and the insoluble phase is basically dissolved. In the matrix, the strengthening effect is good, and the hardness and compressive strength are 179.43 HV and 680.42 MPa, respectively. Under this solution process, when the aluminum matrix composites are aged at 170 ℃ for 10 h, the hardness and compressive strength can reach their peaks and increase to 195.82 HV and 721.48 MPa, respectively.

Temporal and environmental factors drive community structure and function of methanotrophs in volcanic forest soils

Methanotrophs,organisms that obtain oxygen by oxidizing methane,are recognized as the only known biological sink for atmospheric cH_4,and forest soil methanotrophs play crucial roles in mitigating global *** succession patterns of methanotrophic communities and functions in Wudalianchi volcano forest soils could provide a basis for the study of evolutionary mechanisms between soil microorganisms,the environment,and carbon cycling of temperate forest ecosystems under climate *** this study,the characteristics and drivers of methanotrophic community structure and function of two volcanic soils at different stages of development are analyzed,including an old volcano and a new volcano,which most recently erupted 300 years and 17-19×10^(5)years ago,respectively,and a non-volcano hills as control,based on space for time substitution and Miseq sequencing and bioinformation *** results showed that cH_(4) fluxes were significantly higher in old-stage volcano forest soils than new-stage forest soils and non-volcano forest *** were significant differences in the community composition and diversity of soil methanotrophs from different volcano forest *** was the dominant genus in all soil ***,the relative abundance of Methylococcus,along with clonothrix,Methyloglobulus,Methylomagum,Methylomonas and Methylosarcina,were the important genera responsible for the differences in methanotrophic community structure in different volcano forest *** relative abundance of methanotroph belonging toγ-proteobacteria was significantly higher than that belonging toα-proteobacteria(Pchao1,Shannon and Simpson indices of soil methanotrophic community were significantly lower in new-stage volcanos and were significantly affected by bulk density,total porosity,p H,nitrate,dissolved organic carbon and dissolved organic *** were significant differences in community structure between new-stage and old-stage volcano

Identification and characterization of camptothecin tailoring enzymes in Nothapodytes tomentosa

camptothecin is a complex monoterpenoid indole alkaloid with remarkable antitumor *** that two c-10 modified camptothecin derivatives,topotecan and irinotecan,have been approved as potent anticancer agents,there is a critical need for methods to access other aromatic ringfunctionalized congeners(e.g.,c-9,c-10,etc.).However,contemporary methods for chemical oxidation are generally harsh and low-yielding when applied to the camptothecin scaffold,thereby limiting the development of modified *** herein,we have identified four tailoring enzymes responsible for c-9 modifications of camptothecin from Nothapodytes tomentosa,via metabolomic and transcriptomic *** consist of a cytochrome P450(Nt cPT9H)which catalyzes the regioselective oxidation of camptothecin to 9-hydroxycamptothecin,as well as two methyltransferases(Nt OMT1/2,converting 9-hydroxycamptothecin to 9-methoxycamptothecin),and a uridine diphosphate-glycosyltransferase(Nt UGT5,decorating 9-hydroxycamptothecin to9-β-D-glucosyloxycamptothecin).Importantly,the critical residues that contribute to the specific catalytic activity of Nt cPT9H have been elucidated through molecular docking and mutagenesis *** work provides a genetic basis for producing camptothecin derivatives through metabolic *** will hasten the discovery of novel c-9 modified camptothecin derivatives,with profound implications for pharmaceutical manufacture.

Optimization Study of Active-Passive Heating System Parameters in Village Houses in the Southern Xinjiang Province

Aiming at the problems of large energy consumption and serious pollution of winter heating existing in the rural buildings in Southern Xinjiang,a combined active-passive heating system was proposed,and the simulation software was used to optimize the parameters of the system,according to the parameters obtained from the optimization,a test platform was built and winter heating test was carried *** simulation results showed that the thickness of the air layer of 75 mm,the total area of the vent holes of 0.24 m^(2),and the thickness of the insulation layer of 120 mm were the optimal construction for the passive part;solar collector area of 28 m^(2),hot water storage tank volume of 1.4 m^(3),mass flow rate of 800 kg/h on the collector side,mass flow rate of 400 kg/h on the heat exchanger side,and output power of auxiliary heat source of 5∼9 kWwere the optimal constructions for active heating *** results showed that during the heating period,the system could provide sufficient heat to the room under different heating modes,and the indoor temperature reached over 18°c,which met the heating *** economic and environmental benefits of the system were analyzed,and the economic benefits of the systemwere better than coal-fired heating,and the cO_(2) emissionswere reduced by 3,292.25 kg compared with *** results of the study showed that the combinedactive-passiveheating systemcouldeffectively solve the heating problems existing in rural buildings in Southern Xinjiang,and it also laid the theoretical foundation for the popularization of the combined heating systems.
