Patients with suspected OSA were examined using *** were divided into two groups based on the presence of *** was defined as a patient who needed to void at least *** index(AhI)was employed to classify patients according to degrees of severity:AhIh,5 events/hAhIh,15 events/hAhIh,and AhI30 events/h,defined as normal,mild OSA,moderate OSA,and severe OSA,*** variables,PSG parameters,International Prostate Symptom Scores(IPSSs),and quality of life scores due to urinary symptoms were ***:In total 140 patients,114 patients had OSA(48 had mild OSA;34 had moderate OSA;and 32 had severe OSA)and 107 patients had *** total IPSS was significantly higher in nocturia patients in all groups except the group of severe OSA *** the increasing severity of OSA,more correlated factors related to nocturia were *** mild OSA patients,nocturia related to increased age(p=0.025),minimum arterial blood oxygenation saturation(p=0.046),and decreased AhI of non-rapid eye movement(p=0.047),AhI of total sleep time(p=0.010),and desaturation index(p=0.012).In moderate OSA patients,nocturia related to increased age(pheight(p=0.044),weight(p=0.025),and sleep efficiency(p=0.003).In severe OSA patients,nocturia related to increased weight(p=0.011),body mass index(p=0.009),awake time(p=0.008),stage 1 sleep(p=0.040),arousal number(p=0.030),arousal index(p=0.013),periodic limb movement number(p=0.013),and periodic limb movement index(p=0.004),and decreased baseline arterial blood oxygenation saturation(p=0.046).Conclusion:Our study revealed that there were more correlated factors related to nocturia with increasing severity of *** study helps in clinical education and treatment for OSA patients with different severity.

AIM To evaluate the impact of cytochrome P450 2C19(CYP2C19) and interleukin-1β(IL-1β) polymorphisms on the efficacy of helicobacter pylori(h. pylori) eradication by using rabeprazole-based hybrid *** A total of 88 h. pylori-infected patients were recruited to receive 14-d of hybrid therapy from March 2013 to May 2014. Three patients were excluded from analysis because of incomplete compliance. Either a follow-up endoscopy or 13 C-urea test was performed to determine the results of h. pylori eradication therapy. The genotypes of CYP2C19 and IL-1β were analyzed to investigate the impact on treatment effect. RESULTS The total eradication rate of h. pylori was 92.94%(79/85). According to the CYP2C19 genotypes, the rates of h. pylori eradication were 89.19% in extensive metabolizers(EM) and 95.83% in non-EM. The *** eradication rates regarding the IL-1β genotypes were 92.59% in the normal acid secretion group and 93.10% in the low acid secretion group. After multivariable logistic regression analysis, both the genotypes of CYP2C19 and IL-1β had no significant influences on the eradication rates of h. *** The CYP2C19 and IL-1β polymorphisms are not significantly independent factors of *** eradication using rabeprazole-based hybrid therapy.

BACKGROUND Despite the availability of current therapies,including oral antidiabetic drugs and insulin,for controlling the symptoms caused by high blood glucose,it is difficult to cure diabetes mellitus,especially type 1 diabetes *** Cell therapies using mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)may be a promising ***,the therapeutic mechanisms by which MSCs exert their effects,such as whether they can differentiate into insulin-producing cells (IPCs) beforetransplantation, are *** this study, we used three types of differentiation media over 10 d to generateIPCs from human Wharton’s jelly MSCs (hWJ-MSCs). We further transplantedthe undifferentiated hWJ-MSCs and differentiated IPCs derived from them intothe portal vein of rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes, and recorded thephysiological and pathological *** fluorescent staining and C-peptide enzyme-linked immunoassay, we wereable to successfully induce the differentiation of hWJ-MSCs into *** of both IPCs derived from hWJ-MSCs and undifferentiated hWJMSCshad the therapeutic effect of ameliorating blood glucose levels andimproving intraperitoneal glucose tolerance tests. The transplanted IPCs homedto the pancreas and functionally survived for at least 8 wk after transplantation,whereas the undifferentiated hWJ-MSCs were able to improve the insulitis andameliorate the serum inflammatory cytokine in streptozotocin-induced *** IPCs can significantly improve blood glucose levels in diabetic ratsdue to the continuous secretion of insulin by transplanted cells that survive in theislets of diabetic rats. Transplantation of undifferentiated hWJ-MSCs cansignificantly improve insulitis and re-balance the inflammatory condition indiabetic rats with only a slight improvement in blood glucose levels.
