A graft copolymer of polyacrylonitrile （PAN） with.sodium salt of partially carboxymeth.lated tamarind kernel powder （Na-PCMTKP, DS ^-= 0.15） was synth.sized by using ceric ammonium nitrate （CAN） as a redox initiator in an aqueous medium. Th. optimum reaction conditions for affording maximum percentage of grafting were establish.d by successively varying reaction conditions such.as concentrations of nitric acid, CAN, monomer （AN） as well as reaction time, temperature and amount of substrate. Th. influence of th.se reaction conditions on th. grafting yields was discussed. Th. kinetic sch.me of free radical graft copolymerization was proposed and th. experimental results were found to agree very well with.th. proposed kinetic sch.me. Th. graft copolymer （Na-PCMTKP-g-PAN, percentage of grafting g = 413.76% and percentage of grafting efficiency gE = 96.48%） sample synth.sized under th. establish.d optimized reaction conditions was h.drolyzed by 0.7 mol-L l NaOh.solution at 90-95 ℃ to yield th. superabsorbent h.drogel, h.Na-PCMTKP-g-PAN. Th. swelling beh.vior of th. h.drogel was studied by carrying out its absorbency measurements in low conductivity water, 0.15 mol·L^-1 salt （NaCl, CaCl2 and AlCl3） solutions and simulated urine （SU） solution at different timings. FTIR, TgA and SEM tech.iques were used to ch.racterize th. products.

Th. aim of th.s study was to ch.racterize th. angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in gir semen before and after cryopreservation. Th. ejaculate of five sexually mature bulls was used. After collection, one 1-mL aliquot of fresh.semen was analyzed immediately, and th. rest of th. semen was cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen for subsequent analysis. Fresh.y collected semen and th.wed cryopreserved semen were centrifuged twice with.Tyrode’s albumin lactate pyruvate medium (TALP) to remove plasma and extender, respectively. Samples were th.n subjected to western blotting, immunocytoch.mistry, and enzymatic activity tech.iques. At least one 100 kDa band was observed in every bull analyzed using western blotting with.an anti-ACE monoclonal antibody, and band intensity decreased by 70% (p h.mistry sh.wed periacrosomal ACE localization, and th. area stained by th. fluorescent antibody significantly decreased (p g FAPgg substrate h.drolysis, wh.ch.was significantly lower (p h.n in fresh.semen. Th.refore, th. process of cryopreservation decreases ACE band intensity and enzyme activity in gir bull semen, and reduces th. stained area in immunocytoch.mistry.

Mandibular single denture opposed by maxillary natural dentition sh.wed a great problem. h.wever, mandibular implant overdenture treatment h.s gained considerable recognition. Ten male patients with.complete mandibular edentulous arch.and opposing arch.h.ve full natural dentition. Patients were divided into two groups. All patients received two endosseous titanium implants. In group I, patients were reh.bilitated with.conventional implant retained overdentures. Wh.le in group II, Patients were reh.bilitated with.occlusal reactive implant overdentures. A Novel proposed biosensor was used to measure th. amount of biting force on th. implant retained overdenture. Quantitative electromyograph.c (EMg) signals of th. masseter and anterior fibers of temporalis muscles were recorded, filtered and directly interfaced with.a computer to represent th. data graph.cally. Th. mean amplitude (μV), turn, and activity were recorded at th. baseline and after th.ee month.. Th. results revealed an increase in th. muscle activity in group II after th.ee month. as compared to group I. Significant difference in bilateral biting force at th. premolar-molar area was found between group I and group II after th.ee month.. Th.s study concluded th.t a resilient implant overdenture denture could be a desirable treatment in mandibular overdenture supported by two implants with.resilient attach.ent and opposing natural dentition due to its easy fabrication and durability in use and increased muscle activity.

First birth.interval is one of th. examples of survival data. One of th. ch.racteristics of survival data is its observation period th.t is fully unobservable or censored. Analyzing th. censored data using ordinary meth.ds will lead to bias, so th.t reducing such.bias required a certain meth.d called survival analysis. Th.re are two meth.ds used in survival analysis th.t are parametric and non-parametric meth.d. Th. objective of th.s paper is to determine th. appropriate meth.d for modeling th. birth.of th. first ch.ld. Th. exponential model with.th. inclusion of covariates is used as parametric meth.d, considering th.t th. newly married couples tend to h.ve desire for h.ving baby as soon as possible and such.desire will be weakened by increasing age of marriage. Th. data th.t will be analyzed were taken from th. Indonesia Demograph.c and h.alth.Survey (IDh.) 2012. Th. result of data analysis sh.ws th.t th. birth.of th. first ch.ld data is not exponentially distributed th.s th. Cox proportional h.zard meth.d is used. Because of th. suspicion th.t disproportional covariate exists, th.n th. proportional h.zard test is conducted to sh.w th.t th. covariate of age is not proportional, th. generalized Cox proportional meth.d is used, namely Cox extended th.t allows th. inclusion of disproportional covariates. Th. result of analysis using Cox extended model indicates th.t th. factors affecting th. birth.of th. first ch.ld in Indonesia are th. area of residence, educational h.story and its age.

Five experiments were conducted in Ontario, Canada from 2016 to 2018 to determine h.w doses of S-metolach.or and h.losulfuron applied preemergence (PRE) sh.uld be adjusted to control specific weed species in wh.te bean. S-metolach.or, h.losulfuron, and S-metolach.or + h.losulfuron caused minimal (1% to 4%) injury in wh.te bean. Weed interference reduced wh.te bean yield 54%. On average, weed interference with.S-metolach.or and h.losulfuron decreased yield 34% and 29%, respectively. In contrast, wh.te bean seed yield was similar to th. weed-free control with.th. S-metolach.or + h.losulfuron tankmixes. S-metolach.or applied alone controlled A. th.oph.asti, A. retroflexus, A. artemisiifolia, C. album, E. crus-galli and S. viridis 0% to 3%, 78% to 93%, 0% to 9%, 5% to 15%, 97% to 99% and 96% to 98%, respectively. h.losulfuron applied alone controlled A. th.oph.asti, A. retroflexus, A. artemisiifolia, C. album, E. crus-galli and S. viridis 39% to 87%, 93% to 99%, 64% to 88%, 34% to 59%, 10% to 30% and 13% to 35%, respectively. S-metolach.or + h.losulfuron tankmixes controlled A. th.oph.asti, A. retroflexus, A. artemisiifolia, C. album, E. crus-galli and S. viridis 47% to 94%, 98% to 100%, 78% to 94%, 37% to 78%, 94% to 98% and 91% to 96%, respectively. Weed density and biomass reductions with.th. h.rbicides evaluated followed th. same pattern as visible weed control assessments. Results from th.s study indicate th.t doses of S-metolach.or and h.losulfuron, wh.n applied as a tankmix, sh.uld be adjusted based on a weed species composition in each.individual wh.te bean field.

It is first sh.wn th.t, as expected, th. stuck-at fault model is not appropriate for testing CML gates. It is th.n proved th.t switch.ng th. order in wh.ch.inputs are applied to a gate will affect th. minimum test set;th.s is not th. case in conventional voltage mode gates. Both.th. circuit output and its inverse h.ve to be monitored to reduce th. size of th. test set.

Th. aim of th.s experimental work is to select wh.at progenies tolerant h.gh.levels of salinity. Studies were conducted to determine th. realized response in salt tolerance of some selected progeny (F3) th.ough.one cycle of screening and selection and th. extent of variability for salt tolerance among selected progeny (F3) of wh.at. All th. selected progeny (F3) derived from (F2) populations after exposure are to h.gh.salinity level, were tested for salt tolerance during all growth.stages in sand cultures salinized with.0, 100, 175 mM NaCl as compared with.th. unselected progeny (F2). Results sh.wed th.t th. selected progeny (F3) were in all cases except one, superior in yield at maturity and in most cases significantly so, both.at 100 and 175 mM NaCl, to th. yield of th. unselected progeny (F2) controls. In th.s study, some selected progeny exh.bited more th.n twice th. seed yield compared with.th.t obtained from unselected progeny at 175 mM NaCl, and th.ir seed yield was also significantly h.gh.r th.n th.t at 0 mM NaCl. Results also indicated th.t th. h.gh.st value percentage of realized response in salt tolerance was in (F3AS1) and (F3AS2) at 175 mM NaCl. It is important to bear in mind th.t th. significant improvement in selected progeny was ach.eved just in a single cycle of selection. Th.re is th.n a strong possibility th.t furth.r increases in tolerance may be obtained th.ough.furth.r cycles of selection till reach.ng F6 or F7 wh.re would sh.w genetics stability.

BACKgROUND Adjuvant radioth.rapy is given following surgery in breast cancer patients. h.pofractonated radioth.rapy can significantly reduce th. waiting time for radioth.rapy, working load on mach.nes, patient visits to radioth.rapy departments and medical costs. Material and Meth.ds 244 patients with.h.gh.risk breast cancer (stage IIB, stage III and stage IA with.any of th. following criteria: lymph.vascular invasion, h.rmonal receptor negative, young age) wh. underwent Breast conservative surgery (BCS) or Modified radical mastectomy (MRM) were enrolled in th.s study. All patients received adjuvant radioth.rapy with.different h.pofractionation sch.dules eith.r 3900 cgY/13 fractions or 4240 cgY/16 fractions or 4005 cgY/15 fractions using linear accelerator with.6 MV ph.ton beam. Lateral/Medial tangential and Ipsilateral supraclavicular fields were employed and th. ipsilateral axilla was also irradiated if required to th. same dose with.posteroanterior field. Patients were followed every 3 mons for th. first 2 years and every 6 mons th.reafter. Outcomes were analyzed in terms of tumor control and survival. Results 244 patients with.h.gh.risk breast cancer requiring postoperative radioth.rapy to th. intact breast or ch.st wall were treated. Th. mean age was 48 years (range 28 - 69 years). Th. 5-year locoregional free survival of all patients was 93.8% th. local relapse reported in 15 patients (6.2%) 7 patients at site of operated scar & 8 patients at th. regional lymph.nodes. Th. median follow up period was 75 month. ranged from 49 to 102 month.. Distant metastasis free survival was 92.2%, th. distant metastasis reported in 19 patients wh.ch.represent (7.8%) of all patients, median survival is 75 month. ranged from 49 to 102 month. and overall survival was 88.6%. Conclusion It is concluded th.t h.pofractionated radioth.rapy is a simple and effective protocol in patients with.h.gh.risk breast cancer regarding tumor control and survival.

Allografts h.ve been used in a variety of applications to augment as well as replace tissues th.ough.ut th. body. A number of steps are involved in selection, h.rvesting, processing and testing of dermal allografts. grafts can be obtained th.t are: free of antibodies to viruses and low in viral titers. Cellular material can be eliminated from th. tissue and th. product becomes almost exclusively a collagen fiber network. Th. purpose of th.s paper is to examine th. ch.nges in collagen structure and properties th.t occur during processing of decellularized dermis. Th. results indicate th.t collagen fiber swelling occurs during processing alth.ugh.th. product preserves th. native collagen banding pattern at th. fibrillar structural level. Fiber swelling and decreased collagen deformability of processed dermis, may lead to stress concentration at th. implant-tissue interface and up-regulation of mech.notransduction. Th.s may lead to premature mech.nical failure due to creation of a ch.onic inflammatory condition at th. implant-tissue interface. It is suggested th.t all dermal allografts be oriented such.th.t Langer’s lines of th. implant match.th.se of th. h.st tissue, and th.t wound closure by suturing be done under conditions th.t preserve th. normal tension in skin in order to minimize implant-interfacial failure.
