Using.Lean Manufacturing.LM)tools in production processes is crucial for companies’economic,environmental,and social sustainability *** study shows a structural equation model(sEM)that shows the relationship between LM Tools like Kaizen(KAI),g.mba(g.M),Value stream Mapping.VsM)and Key Performance Indicator(KPI)with Economic sustainability(ECs).seven hypotheses were evaluated with data from 179 responses to a questionnaire about the Mexican maquiladora industry,showing.that these variables are *** a 95%confidence level,the model was evaluated using.the partial least squares *** finding. indicate that the relationships between KAI and g.M and KAI and VsM have the strong.st relationship,followed by VsM and ECs;however,VsM has the strong.st effect on *** on these finding.,it is recommended that manag.rs adopt a continuous improvement(KAI)approach based on working.directly on the shop floor(g.M and VsM)to support their decisions reg.rding.economic g.owth(ECs).

Backg.ound:This study aimed to determine the effect of different carbohydrate(CHO)doses on exercise capacity in patients with McArdle disease—the paradig. of“exercise intolerance”,characterized by complete muscle g.ycog.n unavailability—and to determine whether hig.er exog.nous g.ucose levels affect metabolic responses at the McArdle muscle cell(in vitro)***:Patients with McArdle disease(n=8)and healthy controls(n=9)underwent a 12-min submaximal cycling.constant-load bout followed by a maximal ramp test 15 min after ing.sting.a non-caloric *** a randomized,double-blinded,cross-over desig.,patients repeated the tests after consuming.either 75 g.or 150 g.of CHO(g.ucose:fructose=2:1).Cardiorespiratory,biochemical,perceptual,and electromyog.aphic(EMg.variables were ***,g.ucose uptake and lactate appearance were studied in vitro in wild-type and McArdle mouse myotubes cultured with increasing.g.ucose concentrations(0.35,1.00,4.50,and 10.00 g.L).Results:Compared with controls,patients showed the“classical”second-wind phenomenon(after prior disproportionate tachycardia,myalg.a,and excess electromyog.aphic activity during.submaximal exercise,all pse capacity(-51%ventilatory threshold and55%peak power output,both pg.rdless of the CHO dose(pses compared with the placebo),CHO intake increased blood g.ucose and lactate levels,decreased fat oxidation rates,and attenuated the second wind in the ***,only the hig.er dose increased ventilatory threshold(+27%,p=0.010)and peak power output(+18%,p=0.007).In vitro analyses revealed no differences in lactate levels across g.ucose concentrations in wild-type myotubes,whereas a doseresponse effect was observed in McArdle ***:CHO intake exerts beneficial effects on exercise capacity in McArdle disease,a condition associated with total muscle g.ycog.n *** of these benefits are dose dependent.

Connexin 43 (CX43) is one of the major components of g.p junctions, the structures responsible for the intercellular communication and transmission of the electrical impulse in the left ventricle. There is limited information on the histolog.cal chang.s of CX43 with ag. and their effect on electrophysiolog., especially in humans. Here, we analyzed left ventricular biopsies from living.donors starting.at midlife to characterize ag.-related CX43 remodeling. We assessed its quantity, deg.ee of lateralization, and spatial heterog.neity tog.ther with fibrotic deposition. We observed no sig.ificant ag.-related remodeling.of CX43. Only spatial heterog.neity increased slig.tly with ag., and this increase was better explained by biolog.cal ag. than by chronolog.cal ag.. Importantly, we found that CX43 features varied considerably among.individuals in our population with no relevant relationship to ag. or fibrosis content, in contrast to animal species. We used our experimental results to feed computational models of human ventricular electrophysiolog. and to assess the effects of interindividual differences in specific features of CX43 and fibrosis on conduction velocity, action potential duration, and arrhythmog.nicity. We found that larg.r amounts of fibrosis were associated with the hig.est arrhythmic risk, with this risk being.increased when fibrosis deposition was combined with a reduction in CX43 amount and/or with an increase in CX43 spatial heterog.neity. These mechanisms underlying.hig. arrhythmic risk in some individuals were not associated with ag. in our study population. In conclusion, our data rule out CX43 remodeling.as an ag.-related arrhythmic substrate in the population beyond midlife, but hig.lig.t its potential as a proarrhythmic factor at the individual level, especially when combined with increased fibrosis.

Backg.ound Pediatric cancer survivors are at increased risk of muscle weakness and low areal bone mineral density(aBMD).However,the prevalence of muscle streng.h deficits is not well documented,and the associations of muscle streng.h with aBMD are unknown in this ***,this study aimed to investig.te the prevalence of upper-and lower-body muscle streng.h deficits and to examine the associations of upper-and lower-body muscle streng.h with ag.-,sex,and race-specific aBMD Z-scores at the total body,total hip,femoral neck,and lumbar *** This cross-sectional study included 116 pediatric cancer survivors(12.1±3.3 years old,mean±sD;42.2%female).Upper-and lower-body muscle streng.h were assessed by handg.ip and standing.long.jump test,***‑energ.
