3,5-Dimethoxyhomophthalic acid was synthesized in four steps from 3,5-dimethoxycinnamic acid via a series of reactions including cyclization of 3-（3＇,5＇-dimethoxyphenyl）propionic acid to 5,7-dimethoxy-1-indanone and oxidative decomposition of methyl-2-hydroxy-2-[5,7-dimethyoxy-1-oxo-1H-inden-2（3H）-ylidene]acetate to 3,5-dimethoxyhomophthalic *** synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis,IR,1H NMR,and *** biological evaluation experiments of 3,5-dimthoxyhomophthalic acid and the related synthesized compounds were also carried *** occurring biologically active isocoumarins were prepared in a single step by the condensation of the homophthalic acid with appropriate acid chlorides.

Optimal engine torque management,a fundamental objective,depends predominantly on engine speed tracking *** ensures to attain desired speed profile in the presence of uncertainties,disturbances and *** the other hand,certain requirements such as emissions control,fuel efficiency and drivability are degraded in case of poorspeed ***,constraints on engine speed tracking performance are even more stringent for hybrid power-train architecture as crankshaft speed and engine torque are the basic variables for coordinated *** tracking is also considered essential for gearshift control ofthe automatic *** this research work,a framework for fault-tolerant speed tracking of the gasoline engine is proposed using the First Principle-based Engine Model(FPEM).A high-fidelity direct relationship between fuel injection input and engine speed is derived by the transformation of *** is induced in the fuel injection subsystem to generate the torque *** the proposed framework,a second-order sliding mode-based control technique is applied to track desired speed profile by mitigating the faultsin the fuel injection *** data acquired from the engine test rig is used to demonstrate the offline validity and fault tolerance capabilities of the proposed framework in MATLAB/Simulink.

Influence of temperature on ruthenium adsorption on activated charcoal from 3 mol/L HNO3 solutions was inves- tigated in the temperature range of 288 K to 308 K. It was observed that the rise in temperature increases the adsorption of ru- thenium ions on activated charcoal and follows the kinetics of first order rate law with rate constant values 0.0564?0.0640 min?1 in the temperature range of 288 K to 308 K respectively. The activation energy for the adsorption process was found to be 1.3806 kJ/mol. Various thermodynamics quantities namely ?H, ?S and ?G were computed from the equilibrium constant KC values. The results indicated a positive heat of adsorption, a positive ?S and a negative ?G.

A "sign" on a lung CT image refers to a radiologic finding that suggests a pathological progression of some specific disease. Analysis of CT signs is helpful to understand the pathological origin of the lesion. In-depth study of lung nodules classification with different CT signs will help to distinguish benign and malignant nodules more clearly and accurately. To this end, we propose an Inception module-based ensemble classification method for pulmonary nodule diagnosis with different nodule signs. We first construct a Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) classifier adopting Inception modules and pre-train it on ImageNet. We then fine-tune this pre-trained classifier on 10 different lung nodule sign sample sets, and fuse these 10 classifiers with an artificial immune ensemble algorithm. The overall sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of our proposed Artificial Immune Algorithm-based Inception Networks Fusion(AIA-INF) algorithm are 82.22%, 93.17%, and 88.67%, respectively, which are significantly higher than those of the alternative Bagging and Boosting methods. The experimental results show that our Inception-based ensemble classifier offers promising performance, and compared with other CADx systems, this scheme can offer a more detailed reference for diagnosis, and can be valuable for junior radiologist training.

To secure the wireless connection between devices with low computational power has been a challenging problem due to heterogeneity in operating devices,device to device communication in Internet of Things(IoTs)and 5G wireless *** layer key generation(PLKG)tackles this secrecy problem by introducing private keys among two connecting devices through wireless *** this paper,relative calibration is used as a method to enhance channel reciprocity which in turn increases the performance of the key generation *** reciprocity based key generation is emerged as better PLKG methodology to obtain secure wireless connection in IoTs and 5G *** deconvolution is proposed as a promising technique for relative calibration to ensure channel reciprocity in comparison to existing techniques Total Least Square(TLS)and Structured Total Least Square(STLS).The proposed deconvolution technique replicates the performance of the STLS by exploiting the possibility of higher information reuse and its lesser computational complexity leads to less processing time in comparison to the *** presented idea is validated by observing the relation between signalto-noise ratio(SNR)and the correlation coefficient of the corresponding channel measurements between communicating parties.

A new procedure based on generation and subsequent reduction of orange-colored fluphenazine hydrochloride radical （FPH^＋） is presented for the screening of total antioxidant capacity （TAC） of various fruit matrices. The FPH^＋ was obtained by mixing fluphenazine hydrochloride with persulfate （final concentration 2 mmol/L and 0.05 mmol/L, respectively） in 3 mol/L H2SO4 with constant shaking for 5 min. The solution formed showed maximum absorption as 0.8 ＋ 0.02 at 500 nm in first-order derivative spectrum. The percent inhibition of the solution increased linearly on addition of increasing amounts of standard antioxidants i.e., ascorbic acid etc. The TACs of sample citrus juices were calculated in terms of ascorbic acid equivalents （AAEs） by comparing their inhibition curves with that of ascorbic acid. Comparison of AAE values of different commercial orange juices using the newly developed FPH^＋ assay and the well-known ABTS/K2S2Os and DMPD/FeC13 assays indicated the precision and comparable sensitivity of the method. The proposed procedure is quick, economical, and more precise and gives results comparable to contemporary assays.

Significance of body material and temperature variation on burning time and burning rate of Si/Pb O/Pb_3O_4/FG and B/BaCrO_4/FG pyrotechnic delay compositions were experimentally studied. Brass and stainless steel were used as delay body materials. High resolution oscilloscope and a customized chronometer were simultaneously used for the measurement of burning time and burning rate. Results reveal that brass material with controlled column dimensions reduced the variation in burning time of Si/Pb O/Pb_3O_4/FG delay mixture from 7.43% to 4.17% and that of B/Ba CrO_4/FG mixture from 16.83% to 9.39%.Similarly the variation in burning rate was reduced from 7.57% to 4.12% and from 17% to 9.69% for Si/Pb O/Pb_3O_4/FG and B/BaCrO_4/FG mixtures respectively. Si/PbO/Pb_3O_4/FG delay mixture was also subjected to temperature ranging from -54℃ up to+100℃. The burning rate of this composition varied linearly with temperature. Burning rate increased from 28.01 mm/s to 34.38 mm/s when the temperature was varied from -54℃ to +100℃.
