The aim of this study was to verify the role of antegrade scrotal sclerotherapy for the treatment of varicoceles in infertile men with severe oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia （OAT）. The 59 patients with severe OAT in this study underwent antegrade scrotal sclerotherapy for the treatment of varicoceles. The outcome was assessed in terms of improvement in semen parameters and spontaneous conception rate. Semen parameters and reproductive hormones were evaluated before antegrade sclerotherapy （AS） and 6 months after AS. After an average follow-up time of 34.8_＋3.2 months, significant improvement was noted in the mean sperm concentration, motility and morphology in 36 patients （61%）. Spontaneous pregnancy occurred in nine couples （15%）. Six months after treatment, inhibin B levels were significantly higher （P〉0.04）, whereas follicle-stimulating hormone （FSH） levels were significantly lower （P〈0.001） than before treatment. Antegrade internal spermatic vein sclerotherapy can significantly improve seminal parameters and hormonal parameters in men with severe OAT and may even result in spontaneous pregnancy in couples who would otherwise be candidates for intracytoplasmic sperm injection （ICSI）.

Malignant testicular germ cell tumors （TGCT） are the most frequent cancers in Caucasian males （20-40 years） with an 70% increasing incidence the last 20 years, probably due to combined action of （epi）genetic and （micro）environmental factors. It is expected that TGCT have carcinoma in situ （CIS） as their common precursor, originating from an embryonic germ cell blocked in its maturation process. The overall cure rate of TGCT is more than 90%, however, men surviving TGCT can present long-term side effects of systemic cancer treatment. In contrast, men diagnosed and treated for CIS only continue to live without these long-term side effects. Therefore, early detection of CIS has great health benefits, which will require an informative screening method. This review described the etiology and early pathogenesis of TGCT, as well as the possibilities of early detection and future potential of screening men at risk for TGCT. For screening, a well-defined risk profile based on both genetic and environmental risk factors is needed. Since 2009, several genome wide association studies （GWAS） have been published, reporting on single-nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） with significant associations in or near the genes KITLG, SPrY4, BAK1, DMrT1, TErT, ATF71P, HPGDS, MAD1L1, rFWD3, TEX14, and PPMIE, likely to be related to TGCT development. Prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal environmental factors also influence the onset of CIS. A noninvasive early detection method for CIS would be highly beneficial in a clinical setting, for which specific mirNA detection in semen seems to be very promising. Further research is needed to develop a well-defined TGCT risk profile, based on gene-environment interactions, combined with noninvasive detection method for CIS.

Aim： To evaluate whether inhibin-B can predict the outcome of a microsurgical epidymal sperm aspiration （MESA） procedure in patients with suspected primary obstructive azoospermia （OA） and if inhibin-B can replace testicular biopsy in the diagnostic work-up of these patients. Methods： Inhibin-B levels and testicular biopsy scores were related to the outcome of MESA in 43 patients with suspected primary OA. MESA was considered to be successful when epididymal sperm could be identified during the procedure. results： Spermatozoa were present in the epididymal aspirate in 28 out of the 43 patients （65%）. lnhibin-B values were not significantly different in patients with successful or unsuccessful MESA. The modified Johnsen score, however, was significantly lower in patients with unsuccessful MESA （P = 0.003）. A rete testis obstruction or epididymal malfunctioning was found in 15% of patients with suspected primary OA, reflected by unsuccessful MESA despite normal inhibin-B levels and normal testicular histology. Conclusion： Inhibin-B cannot replace testicular biopsy as a diagnostic tool in the work-up of patients with suspected primary OA. Testicular biopsy is useful in identifying patients with spermatogenic arrest, who might have normal inhibin-B values.

The need to combine various metals in light-weight constructions requires the development of coatings that prevent galvanic corrosion. Layered double hydroxides(LDHs) can be an example of such coatings, which were previously successfully obtained in situ on individual materials. In addition, the possibility of LDH growth(including LDH growth in the presence of chelating agents) on the surface of plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)-coated metals was previously shown. This PEO + LDH combination could improve both corrosion and mechanical characteristics of the system. The possibility of LDHs formation in situ on the surface of PEO-coated friction stir welded(FSW) magnesium-aluminum materials(AZ31/AA5754 system was selected as a model one) was demonstrated in the presence of 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid(DHPTA) as a chelating agent, which was selected based on analysis of respective metal-ligand compounds stability. LDHs growth was achieved under ambient pressure without addition of carbonates in the electrolyte. The effectiveness of the resulting coating is shown both for corrosion resistance and hardness.

The crop cover-management(C-)factor in arable landscapes describes the soil erosion susceptibility associated with seasonally cultivated *** informatic and computational limitations have led many modelling studies to prescribe C-factor values and assume spatial and temporal ***,the multiple influencing factors ranging from parcel-scale crop cultivation and management to regional-scale rainfall regimes motivates new methods to capture this variation when identifying at-risk ***,we define a multi-component method to derive the C-factor by associating time series of canopy and residue surface cover from Sentinel-2 and climate-specific rainfall erosivity with Integrated Administration and Control System(IACS)field parcel data from European Union member states.A scalable and standardised method is emphasised to increase the future interoperability and inter-comparability of soil erosion modelling studies deploying the ***,field parcel simu-lation units with associated crop declarations provide a new reference scale to link predictions of soil erosion risk with specific management decisions and declarations by *** implementing the method on a homogenised subsample of 8600 field parcels covering available IACS regions,several key findings are outlined:1)time series information provides new opportunities to predict the time-criticality of erosion in specific crop cultivations,2)the varying(a-)synchronicity between seasonal crop canopy cover and heavy rainstorms means that spatial variability is inherent within the C-factor across Europe,and 3)the addition of agricultural management practices(*** practice de-scriptions)to open-access IACS repositories can facilitate more comprehensive evaluations of the C-factor and soil erosion risk.

Bi_(2)Te_(3)-based alloys are known to have outstanding thermoelectric *** structure–property relations have been studied,still,detailed analysis of the atomic and nano-scale structure of Bi_(2)Te_(3)thin film in relation to their thermoelectric properties remains poorly ***,highly-textured(HT)and single-crystal-like(SCL)Bi_(2)Te_(3)films have been grown using pulsed laser deposition(PLD)on Si wafer covered with(native or thermal)SiOx and mica *** films are highly textured with c-axis out-of-plane,but the in-plane orientation is random for the films grown on oxide and single-crystal-like for the ones grown on *** power factor of the film on thermal oxide is about four times higher(56.8μW·cm^(−1)·K^(−2))than that of the film on mica(12.8μW·cm^(−1)·K^(−2)),which is comparable to the one of the polycrystalline ingot at room temperature(rT).reduced electron scattering in the textured thin films results in high electrical conductivity,where the SCL film shows the highest ***,its Seebeck coefficient shows a low *** measured properties are correlated with the atomic structure details unveiled by scanning transmission electron *** instance,the high concentration of stacking defects observed in the HT film is considered responsible for the increase of Seebeck coefficient compared to the SCL *** study demonstrates the influence of nanoscale structural effects on thermoelectric properties,which sheds light on tailoring thermoelectric thin films towards high performance.

With the advent of the Industry 5.0 era,the Internet of Things(IoT)devices face unprecedented proliferation,requiring higher communications rates and lower transmission *** its high spectrum efficiency,the promising filter bank multicarrier(FBMC)technique using offset quadrature amplitude modulation(OQAM)has been applied to Beyond 5G(B5G)industry IoT ***,due to the broadcasting nature of wireless channels,the FBMC-OQAMindustry IoT network is inevitably vulnerable to adversary attacks frommalicious IoT *** FBMC-OQAMindustry cognitive radio network(ICrNet)is proposed to ensure security at the physical layer to tackle the above *** a pivotal step of ICrNet,blind modulation recognition(BMr)can detect and recognize the modulation type of malicious *** previous works need to accomplish the BMr task of FBMC-OQAM signals in ICrNet nodes.A novel FBMC BMr algorithm is proposed with the transform channel convolution network(TCCNet)rather than a complicated two-dimensional ***,this is achieved by designing a low-complexity binary constellation diagram(BCD)gridding matrix as the input of ***,a transform channel convolution strategy is developed to convert the image-like BCD matrix into a serieslike data format,accelerating the BMr process while keeping discriminative *** Carlo experimental results demonstrate that the proposed TCCNet obtains a performance gain of 8%and 40%over the traditional inphase/quadrature(I/Q)-based and constellation diagram(CD)-based methods at a signal noise ratio(SNr)of 12 dB,***,the proposed TCCNet can achieve around 29.682 and 2.356 times faster than existing CD-Alex Network(CD-AlexNet)and I/Q-Convolutional Long Deep Neural Network(I/Q-CLDNN)algorithms,respectively.
