Four new chiral 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-derived G-amino alcohols were synthesized from commercially available LDOPA. These ligands were evaluated in the asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to benzaldehydes and showed different catalytic activities （up to 86% ee）. The solvent played an important role in the enantioselective process. The transition state models were proposed to explain the reversion of the product configuration.

The fiuidization behavior of Geldart A particles in a gas-solid micro-fluidized bed was investigated by Eulerian-Eulerian numerical simulation. The commonly used Gidaspow drag model was tested first. The simulation showed that the predicted minimum bubbling velocities were significantly lower than the experimental data even when an extremely fine grid size （of approximately one particle diameter） was used. The modified Gibilaro drag model was therefore tested next. The predicted minimum bubbling velocity and bed voidage were in reasonable agreement with the experimental data available in literature. The experimentally observed regime transition phenomena from bubbling to slugging were also reproduced successfully in the simulations. Parametric studies indicated that the solid-wall boundary conditions had a significant impact on the predicted gas and solid flow behavior.

A series of novel dinuclear platinum（II） complexes with （IS, 3S）-l,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines as the ligands were synthesized as potential anticancer agents in several steps starting from commercially available L-DOPA. The cytotoxicities of the series of dinuclear platinum（n） complexes of tetrahydroisoquinoline were tested against HCT-8, BEL-7402, A2780, MCF-7, Hela, A549 and BGC-823 cell lines by the MTT test. These complexes showed selective inhibition activity against cisplatin-insensitive cell line Skov3.

Granular material discharge from a flat-bottomed silo has been simulated by using continuum modeling and a three-dimensional discrete-element method （DEM）. The predictive abilities of three commonly used frictional viscosity models （Schaeffer, S-S, and μ（I）） were evaluated by comparing them with the DEM data. The funnel-flow pattern （type C） and the semi-mass-flow pattern （type B） that was predicted by DEM simulations can be represented when the Schaeffer orμ（I） model is used, whereas the S-S model gives a consistent type-B flow pattern. All three models over-estimate the discharge rate compared with the DEM. The profiles of the solids volume fraction and the vertical velocity above the outlet show that the larger discharge rates given by the Schaeffer and μ（I） model result from an over-estimation of volume fraction, whereas the deviation in the S-S model stems from the failure to predict a solid vertical velocity and a volume fraction.

White-light emitting(WLE) polymers have attracted continuous attention for their promising applications in solid-state lighting,flexible display and related fields. However, achieving dual-emission and pure white-light emission in a single-component polymer is still challenging. In this study, a brominated single-component polymer Br OD-TFB was designed and synthesized,which shows dual-emission and white light emission properties in solution and room-temperature phosphorescence(RTP) in thin films. The dual-emission properties can be tuned by concentration, solvent polarity, and excitation energy. Spectral analyses and theoretical calculations reveal that the origin of the high-energy emission band(HEB) is intramolecular charge transfer(ICT)along the polymer chain, whilst the low-energy emission band(LEB) originates from the excited-state related to the intra-chain and inter-chain C–Br···π interactions as demonstrated by the single-crystal structure of the model compound. Appropriate control of the formation and the destruction of the halogen-assisted interactions can initiate white-light emission in the singlecomponent polymer. More interestingly, by dispersing Br OD-TFB(0.1 wt%) in a non-emissive, colorless and transparent polymer, the characteristics of this white-light emission can be fully demonstrated while exhibiting unexpected RTP properties,with photoluminescence quantum efficiency(Φ_(PL)) of up to 23% and CIE coordinates of(0.32, 0.32).
