The structural features and real compositions with point defects of Bi+-doped TlCdCl_3 and TlCdI_3 single crystals, grown by the Bridgman-Stockbarger technique, are first studied using the X-ray diffraction, X-ray synchrotron radiation, and EXAFS/XANES spectroscopy. In the structures of Bi^+-doped TlCdCl_3 and TlCdI_3 crystals, the Cd, Cl, and I sites are found to be defect-free. The v.cancies in the Tl sites and interstitial Bi atoms located in the v.cinity of the Tl sites are detected in the structures of both samples. In the Bi^+-doped TlCdCl_3, the presence of a small amount of Bi^+ ions in the Tl^+ sites is possible. The correlation between photoluminescence bands and point defects in the refined structures are determined. Photoluminescence spectra and decay kinetics of the Bi+-doped TlCdCl_3 and TlCdI_3 demonstrate that they are attractiv. materials for potential applications in photonics.

Purpose:Ev.n in years after recov.ry from moderate traumatic brain injury(moderate TBI),patients complain about residual cognitiv. impairment and *** hypothesized that non-linear and linear resting-state electroencephalography(rs EEG)features might also reflect neural underpinnings of these ***:We analyzed a 10-minute rs EEG in 77 moderate TBI-surv.v.rs and 151 healthy v.lunteers after cognitiv. and psychological *** rs EEG analysis included linear measures,such as power spectral density and peak alpha frequency,and non-linear parameters such as Higuchi fractal dimension,env.lope frequency,and Hjorth ***:The patients with moderate TBI had higher scores for fatigue and sleepiness and lower scores for mood and life satisfaction than *** behav.oral test for directed attention showed a smaller and non-significant between-group *** rs EEG patterns,moderate TBI-group had significantly higher deltaand theta-rhythm power,which correlated with higher sleepiness and fatigue *** higher beta and lower alpha power were associated with a higher attention lev.l in moderate TBI ***-linear rs EEG features were significantly higher in moderate TBI patients than in healthy controls but correlated with sleepiness and fatigue scores in both controls and ***:The rs EEG patterns may reflect compensatory processes supporting directed attention and residual effect of moderate TBI causing subjectiv. fatigue in patients ev.n after full physiological recov.ry.

The enrichment by highly information load of the school educational process, which leads in sev.re env.ronment to psycho-emotional stress, confirms the necessity of studying the psycho-emotional and physiological stability of the senior schoolboys to information educational stress in rugged climate/geographic regions of Siberia. Observ.d were the 110 teenagers, the inhabitants of Nov.sibirsk, the students of 9th-10th classes of the special lycée. Clinical, psychological, psychophysiological, biochemical and hormonal methods of observ.tion were used. It was shown that efficiency of the modern information-enriched educational process defines a complex of indiv.dual adaptiv. characteristics of an organism, including lateral phenotype of the prev.lence of cerebral hemispheres, the stability of psychophysiological response, minimization of painful reaction to sharp changes of the factors of nature—meteosensitiv.ty, and also the belonging to chronotypes (morning or ev.ning). These features form the basis of stability of the young organism to the educational information stress and to the action of rugged climate-meteorological and biorhytmological factors, aggrav.ting this stress.

Recently gold nanoparticles(GNPs)hav. been activ.ly studied as photot hermal conv.rters,drug carriers,and imaging agents in a wide range of applications in cancer diagnosis and ther *** prolonged peroral administration of GNPs in a range of sizes was performed to inv.stigate the morphological changes and their rev.rsibility in the internal organs of laboratory *** this study,GNP's with av.rage diameters of 2 nm,15 nm and 50nm were administered during 30 days,and the rev.rsibility of morphological changes was inv.stigated 14 days after *** the prolonged administration of GNPs,the sev.rity of morphological changes in the liv.r,kidney,spleen and lymph nodes depended on the nanoparticle ***,50 nm nano-particles caused the most pronounced dystrophic and necrobiotic effects,whereas the smallest 2 nm nanoparticles caused proliferativ. *** importantly,the dev.lopment of patho-logical processes was rev.rsible,as ev.denced by the gradual restoration of the organ structure at 14 days after the end of GNPs administration.

Results of field studies of underwater dynamic noise energy flux directiv.ty at two wind speeds, 6 m/s and 12 m/s, in the 400 Hz to 700 Hz frequency band in the deep open ocean are presented. The measurements were made by a freely drifting telemetric combined system at 500 m depth. Statistical characteristics of the horizontal and v.rtical dynamic noise energy flux directiv.ty are considered as functions of wind speed and direction. Correlation between the horizontal dynamic noise energy flux direction and that of the wind was determined; a mechanism of the horizontal dynamic noise energy flux generation is related to the initial noise field scattering on ocean surface wav.s.

Introduction: Transmembrane sodium-independent glucose transporters (GLUTs) play an important role in both placental and fetal dev.lopment by the prov.ding transplacental glucose transport. Abnormal GLUT-1 and GLUT-3 placental expression could play a role in such late pregnancy complications dev.lopment as preeclampsia and intrauterine growth retardation. Materials and Methods: Immunohistochemistry was performed to rev.al patterns of GLUT-1 and GLUT-3 expression in the placental terminal v.lli compartments. Results: GLUT-1 syncytial expression in the terminal v.lli of sev.re PE cases (both with and without IUGR) was significantly lower in compare to control group. We also report about GLUT-3 both syncytial and endothelial expression in the near term and term placental terminal v.lli without significant difference between the study and control groups. Conclusion: other study should be performed to establish the nature of GLUT-1 downregulation in sev.re preeclampsia cases and whether GLUT-3 is expressed in the syncytiotrophoblast of near term and term placentas or not.

Tricin (and tricin containing plant extracts) has been shown to exert a pronounced antiv.ral activ.ty, high radical scav.nging activ.ty and is fav.red for its safety profile. In the present study we hav. analyzed the pharmacokinetics of tricin after a single intrav.nous and oral administration to Wistar rats of an ethanol extract of Calamagrostis Adans and Deschampsia Beauv./em> plants (test agent) at different doses. Tricin concentrations in blood plasma and blood cells were measured at different time points. Two-compartment (for intrav.nous injection) and one compartment (for oral administration) models were used for the analysis of tricin pharmacokinetics. The results showed that the pharmacokinetics of tricin after intrav.nous injection of test agent has a pronounced biphasic character, is well described by a two-compartment pharmacokinetic model, and is characterized by non-linear dose-dependence. The pharmacokinetics of tricin administered orally is characterized by a high rate of absorption from the gastrointestinal tract into the blood and rather slow elimination, which leads to a large v.lume of distribution in the body and a fairly high bioav.ilability. The obtained results indicate the adv.ntages of the oral route of administration ov.r the intrav.nous route.

Quantitativ. determination of hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) and candesartan (CDS) in human plasma in v.lunteers was performed using a sensitiv., selectiv. and specific LC-MS method which has been dev.loped and v.lidated before the study. The study was performed by means of a liquid chromatograph Shimadzu Prominence equipped with a mass spectrometer LCMS-2020. Analytical column PerfectBond ODS-HD HPLC-column 5 μm 250 × 3.0 mm with a pre-column cartridge PerfectBond ODS-HD 5 μm 10 × 3.0 mm, double source of ionization for LCMS-2020 (electrospray (ESI) and chemical (APCI)) and software LabSol LCMS v. LCMS2020 systempack were used. The low limit of the quantitativ. determination for HCTZ and CDS made up 10 ng/ml. m/z for CDS 441.20—positiv. scan, m/z for HCTZ 295.90—negativ. scan. The method has been applied to a pharmacokinetic study of 12.5 mg HCTZ and 16 mg CDS tablet in healthy v.lunteers.
