We reported here the simultaneous influence of surface acidity and pore size of M-substituted hexagonal mesoporous silicas （Al- doped plugs-containing SBA-15 and M-doped MCM-41） on polymerization of THE These materials were directly synthesized by introduced aluminum isopropoxide into reaction mixture including surfactant and siliceous precursor. Al-doped plugs-containing SBA-15 （denotes as PAS） samples not only possess typical two-step desorption isotherms, which implied PAS materials generated plugs in their mesochannel, but also exhibit larger pore size and thicker wall than that of Al-doped MCM-41 （denotes as ACM）, which implied PAS would have a great advantage on catalytic reaction involving large molecular （e.g. polymer of THF） in industrial point＇of view. To investigate catalytic activity of PAS and ACM with moderate acidic sites the polymerization of THF in the presence of acetic anhydride was carried out. The results showed PAS exhibiting good performance on polymerization of THF. Such result could be related to the large pore size and moderate acidic sites.

AIM To investigate the potential role of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1(PARP1) in the development of Barrett's esophagus(BE).METHODS A BE mouse model was established to examine the esophageal morphological changes and molecular changes. Microarray analysis was performed to compare the gene expression profiles between BE patients and healthy controls. q PCR was used to examine the PARP1 expression in cell lines after treatment with H_2O_2 and bile acids(p H 4). Immunofluorescence staining, comet assay, and annexin V staining were used to evaluate the impact of PARP1 activity on cell survival and DNA damage response after oxidative *** The gene expression profile in normal and BE esophageal epithelial cells showed that PARP1, the major poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase, was overexpressed in BE. In the mouse model of BE, positive staining for NF-κB, γH2 AX, and poly(ADP-ribose)(PAR) was observed. H_2O_2 and bile acids(p H 4) increased the PARP1 m RNA expression level in normal esophageal epithelial cells. Using sh RNA-PARP1 to suppress PARP1 activity decreased the cell viability after treatment with H_2O_2 and bile acids(p H 4), and increased the oxidative damage as demonstrated by an increase in the levels of H_2O_2 , intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS), oxidative DNA damage, double-strand breaks, and apoptosis(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION The dysfunction of PARP1 in esophageal epithelial cells increases the levels of ROS and oxidative DNA damage, which could be common risk factors for BE and esophageal adenocarcinoma.

Yogurt Intake Reduces All-Cause and Cardiovascular Disease Mortality: A Meta-Analysis of Eight Prospective Cohort Studies

Objective:To assess the relationship between yogurt intake and mortality risk from prospective cohort ***:The PubMed,EMBASE,and Web of Science databases were searched for all records related to yogurt intake and mortality risk[all-cause or cardiovascular disease(CVD)or cancer mortality]before October 1,*** Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Scale was used to estimate the quality of all eligible *** results of the highest and lowest categories of yogurt intake in each study were collected and the effect size was pooled using a random effects *** dose-response analysis was calculated using the generalized least squares trend estimation ***:Eight eligible cohort studies were included in this *** were 235,676 participants in the 8 studies,and the number of deaths was 14,*** with the lowest category,the highest category of yogurt intake was not significantly related with all cause mortality[hazard ratio(HR)=0.93;95%confidence interval(CI):0.85,1.01],CVD mortality(HR=0.92;95%CI:0.81,1.03)and cancer mortality(HR=0.97;95%CI:0.83,1.12).These studies were homogenous,since the homogeneity test showed that I2 was 28.7%,15.1%and 11.8%,***,yogurt intake 200 g/d was significantly associated with a lower all-cause mortality(HR=0.88;95%CI:0.80,0.96)and CVD mortality(HR=0.87;95%CI:0.77,0.99)in the subgroup *** dose-response analysis showed that yogurt intake of 200 g/d was inversely associated with all-cause mortality(P=0.041,HR=0.95,95%CI:0.92,1.00)and CVD mortality(P=0.009,HR=0.92,95%CI:0.86,0.98),and all of which were linear relationship(P>0.05).Conclusions:This review provided the evidence regarding yogurt intake can reduce all-cause and CVD *** some positive findings were identified,more high-quality cohort studies and randomized controlled trials are warranted on a possible protective effect of yoghurt on health.

To test whether amino acid mutations in the PBC and PHI loops of VP2 are involved in the replication and virulence of infectious bursal disease virus(IBDV), a pair of viruses, namely the moderately virulent IBDV(rG x-F9VP2) and the attenuated strain(rGt), were used. Residue mutations A222P(P_(BC)) and S330R(PHI), selected by sequence comparison, were introduced individually into r Gx-F9VP2 by using a reverse genetics system. In addition, the reverse mutation of either P222 A or R330 S was introduced into r Gt. The four modified viruses were then rescued and evaluated in vitro(CEF cells) and in vivo(SPF chickens). Results showed that A222 P elevated the replication efficiency of rG x-F9VP2 while P222 A reduced that of rG t in CEF cells. A mutation at residue 330 did not alter IBDV replication. In addition, animal experiments showed that a single mutation at either residue 222 or 330 did not significantly influence the virulence of IBDV. In conclusion, residue 222 in PBC of VP2 is involved in the replication efficiency of IBDV in vitro but does not affect its virulence in vivo, further facilitating our understanding of the gene-function of IBDV.

Internal effects of the dynamic behaviors and nonlinear characteristics of a coupled fractional order hydropower generation system(HGS) are analyzed. A mathematical model of hydro-turbine governing system(HTGS) with rigid water hammer and hydro-turbine generator unit(HTGU) with fractional order damping forces are proposed. Based on Lagrange equations, a coupled fractional order HGS is established. Considering the dynamic transfer coefficient eis variational during the operation, introduced e as a periodic excitation into the HGS. The internal relationship of the dynamic behaviors between HTGS and HTGU is analyzed under different parameter values and fractional order. The results show obvious fast–slow dynamic behaviors in the HGS, causing corresponding vibration of the system, and some remarkable evolution phenomena take place with the changing of the periodic excitation parameter values.

In this paper, NOVA/NOVA-K codes are used to investigate the stability of Alfvén eigenmodes(AEs) in the China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor(CFETR). Firstly, the stability of AEs excited by energetic alpha particles is investigated. For the fully non-inductive scenario, it is found that all AEs are stable, and the least stable toroidal mode number is n= 8. However, for the hybrid mode scenario, it is found that many AEs are unstable, and the least stable toroidal mode numbers are n= 7, 8. Secondly, the effect of energetic alpha-particle parameters and beam ions on AE stability is also presented. The threshold of the least stable AE is about βcrit,α = 1.12%,crit,less than the value of alpha-particle beta(βα=1.34%). The result demonstrates that the AEs excited by alpha particles are weakly unstable. The effect of the beam ions on AE stability is found to be very weak in CFETR.

Ships and other mobile pollution sources emitted massive ultrafine and low-resistivity particles containing black carbon(BC),which were harmful to human health and were difficult to capture by conventional electrostatic precipitators(ESPs).In this study,nanoscale carbon black was adopted as simulated particles(SP)with similar physicochemical properties for black carbon emitted from ships(SP-BC)to investigate the feasibility of using an ESP with square-grooved collecting plates for the removal of SP-BC at low *** increased applied voltage significantly improved the total collection of SP-BC whereas may also promote the conversion of relatively larger particle size SP-BC into nano-size below *** outlet number concentration of SP-BC under 27 kV at 130℃was three times that of the *** the reduction of the flow rate could strengthen the capture of SP-BC below20 nm,and under the combined action of low flow rate and maximum applied voltage,the collection efficiency of 20-100 nm SP-BC could exceed 90%.In addition,the escape and capture characteristics of SP-BC under long-term rapping were *** square-grooved collecting plate could effectively restrain the re-entrainment of collected SP-BC generated by rapping,and the nanoscale SP-BC was trapped in the grooves after *** results could provide insights into the profound removal of massive nanoscale black carbon emissions from mobile sources.

Cloning and Characterization of Genes Coding for Fructan Biosynthesis Enzymes (FBEs) in Triticeae Plants

Fructan is not only a carbon source for storage but also plays an important role as anti-stress agents in many plant species. Complex fructans having both β-（2,1）- and β-（2,6）-linked fructosyl units accumulate in Triticeae plants commonly. Three enzymes （sucrose： sucrose 1-fructosyltransferase, 1-SST, EC： 2.***.1.99; sucrose： fructan 6-fructosyltransferase, 6- SFT, EC： 2.***.1.10; and fructan： fructan 1-fructosyltransferase, 1-FFT, EC： 2.***.1.100） were involved in fructan biosynthesis in Triticeae plant species. We successfully isolated these genes from tetraploid wheat （Triticum turgidum, genotype： AABB）, common wheat （Triticum aestivum L., genotype： AABBDD） and three wild relatives of common wheat, Triticum urartu Thum. （the origin of the AA genome）, Aegilops speltoides （Tausch） Gren. （the putative source of the SS genome） and Aegilops tauschii Coss. （the source of the DD genome）. Sequence analysis revealed that all the FBEs （fructan biosynthetic enzymes） had three highly conserved functional motifs except 1-SST （EU981912） from tetraploid wheat species only with conserved DPNG. Low pI （isoelectric point） and potential N-glycosylation sites were predicted, which were crucial for protein compartmentation and post-translational process. Analysis on subcelluar localization signals showed that only 6-SFT had vacuolar-directed signal. Sequences alignment result showed that 1-SST and 1-FFT were more conservative and had closer relationship each other, while 6-SFT was more active during the evolution processing. According to the syntenic relationship between wheat and rice genome, FBEs were predicated to be located on the homeologous group 6 and group 2 chromosomes. Expression profile confirmed that expression of all the three FBEs were drought-stress induced. This study can assist to establish a useful theoretical platform for cold- or drought-tolerant improvement of wheat by modulating FBEs expression.

To understand the absorption mechanism of nitrogen dioxide into a sodium sulfide solution, a stirred tank reactor with a plane gas-liquid interface was used to measure the chemical absorption rate of diluted nitrogen dioxide into sodium sulfide solution. The absorption rates under various experimental conditions were measured and the effects of experimental conditions on nitrogen dioxide absorption rate were discussed. The results show that, in the range of this study, nitrogen dioxide absorption rate increases with increasing sodium sulfide concentration, nitrogen dioxide inlet concentration, and flue gas flow rate, but decreases with increasing reaction temperature and oxygen content in flue gas.
